The Dark Knight

Correction: As bad as the Joker is, Batman would never falsely accuse anyone of a crime they didn't commit. Plus, Joker was in custody at the time, so people could become suspicious the police are lying about the murders. But it also sets up a new persona for Batman to put fear into Gotham's criminals. He is now seen as a vigilante willing to kill. And it sets up Harvey Dent to be the hero.

Corrected entry: During the bank scene, there's 5 guys. Three in the car, two on the roof. As they begin the robbery, there are three on the bank floor, one in the vault, two on the roof (where did the extra guy come from?) The guy on the roof deactivates the alarm, gets shot. The shooter then goes down to the vault, where he shoots the vault guy. Technically leaving us with 4 guys still in the bank. He then begins to collect the money in duffel bags. While this is happening, the bank manager shoots and kills one robber, shooting him in the back. Leaving two robbers on the bank floor and one in the vault. Manager shoots the second robber in the arm, "where you learn to count?" Joker shoots manager, and begins loading the duffel bags. The only problem is the the vault guy never came up. He never bought the money to the floor. Joker shoots the last robber, shoots the bus driver and leaves. What happened to the money guy and where did the vault guy come from? "Three in the car, two on the roof."

Correction: The shooter of the guy on the roof goes to the vault to get it open, there is no extra guy. Later the guy who got shot in the arm visits the guy in the vault and shoots him once he has opened it, and starts loading the cash. He goes back and threatens the Joker about killing him and then gets hit by the bus. The amount of people is correct - the bus driver is extra, but only the Joker knew the actual amount.

Correction: I don't really think this constitutes trivia. Two scenes vaguely resembling each other isn't really all that interesting or notable. Plus, a character interrupting a meeting in such a manner is a pretty common trope used in a lot movies. I could probably name about a half-dozen other movies with similar scenes off the top of my head.

TedStixon

I agree. Without some correlation between the two films (same director, actor, etc), two similar scenes wouldn't be trivia.

Corrected entry: During the truck scene, after Batman drives under the truck, Joker shouts "He missed!" But his lips don't move when he says it.

Correction: The Joker wasn't the one saying the line. It was one of his henchman who was inside the truck with him who speaks. It's a different voice and from a different part of the truck.

Casual Person

Corrected entry: There's supposedly several police officers observing Joker from outside the interrogation room through a two-way mirror, but none of them notice Joker taking Stephens (his guard) hostage until he escapes the room.

EK8829

Correction: There are no other cops present, they have all gone to rescue Rachel and Dent. Only Stephens is there.

Other mistake: The television that Lau used to communicate with the crime lords was a regular set carried in by Lau's operatives and placed on the table (which didn't have a mic or camera on it), and there were no cameras in the room. So how was Lau able to see/hear/interact with the crime lords? (00:23:10)

Suggested correction: Lau doesn't need to see the occupants of the room in order to talk to them - he just needs to be able to hear them, so the fact that there are no cameras in the room is irrelevant. The microphone doesn't have to be attached to the television, it could be anywhere in the room, including under the table.

Corrected entry: When the Joker greets Chenchen at the warehouse, Lau is seen alive and moving on top of the huge pile of money. When Joker sets the money on fire, Lau isn't heard screaming in pain even though it's obvious he is being burned alive.

Correction: Lau is not moving on top of the pile. He is tied up and there is a gag in his mouth. He couldn't scream even if he wanted to.

Plot hole: The Nomex survival suit that Bruce gets from Lucius Fox in Batman Begins is bulletproof, knife proof, and can stop anything but a straight-shot, per Fox. All Bruce did was spray paint over it to make the batsuit. But in the beginning of The Dark Knight, Batman gets mauled by a dog which chews through the suit and cuts Bruce's arm, causing him to need stitches.

Suggested correction: The suit still has seams, through which the dogs can bite.

The suit he was wearing is knife proof, meaning there's aren't suppose to be any "seams" for a dog to bite through. It was the later suit he requested that would be vulnerable to knife attacks.

Bishop73

Lucius told Bruce in Batman Begins that it would stop a knife, he didn't say it was knife proof. This was likely in reference to protecting vital organs from stab attacks, etc, not the weakest areas in his armor from dog bites. There was always going to be flexibility, protection, and weight consideration trade-offs for optimization purposes with any armor he wore, not just his 2nd.

Trivia: A subtle but very significant tidbit when the Joker is tempting Harvey Dent into shooting him at the hospital: if you look closely at how he (the Joker) has his hands around the gun you'll notice he's actually holding the hammer back, meaning even if Harvey had tried to kill him the gun wouldn't be able to fire. Might first seem a bit hypocritical of the one who talks a great deal about chaos and the fairness thereof, but it actually ties nicely in with the Joker's whole character: he's showing Dent that choice is an illusion, because in this case there isn't one.

Suggested correction: No, the Joker definitely wanted Harvey to kill him. That would have completed his plan in knocking Harvey all the way down and making his fall to villainy complete. Even when his finger is on the hammer, it is more resting on it than it is preventing the hammer from firing. At one point, he even takes his finger off the hammer to point at Harvey.

jshy7979

Factual error: After escaping the hospital, Harvey Dent wears the same charred suit he was wearing when he was brought to the hospital. That suit would not have been neatly taken off and left intact. It would have been cut off with shears so as not to accidentally remove any damaged skin and flesh when pulling the pants and shirt off. The blazer might still be intact but certainly not the pants and shirt.

Question: In the scene where Batman shows Lucius his giant sonar thing, why is he talking in his big scary voice? Lucius knows who he is, so why does he bother disguising his voice?

Answer: It's habit, and a sensible one at that. When he's in the mask, when he's being Batman, he uses the voice, even if the person he's with knows who he is. If he drops back to his normal voice with some people, it sets the precedent for using it while wearing the cowl, which means that he's more likely to slip up and use it around people who don't know, potentially revealing his true identity. If he sticks rigidly to using the voice when kitted up as Batman, regardless of situation, it minimises that possibility.

Tailkinker

Answer: At the bottom of his cowl Batman has devices designed to keep his voice at that level. The director revealed it, of you look at the right screenshots you can see speakers.
