Continuity: Alex starts turning off Mrs. Hess' TV from the attic. The ornaments in front of the TV move between shots at least twice, in consecutive shots.

Continuity: In the scene where Stan is bouncing his basketball, Alex's grasshopper is crawling around on the floor. Notice the bug is a brown type of a color and then when Stan squishes the grasshopper it is green on the bottom of the basketball.

Continuity: The scenes where the bad guys get into Chicago are in daylight, but when they are "chasing" the taxi cab it is nighttime.

Continuity: When the police are arriving at the end of the movie (behind the snow ploughs), there is an overhead shot showing sunlight shining onto the street. Every other shot in that exact scene is otherwise grey and cloudy.

Continuity: When Alex first takes out the bubble-squirting gun and threatens Olek Krupa's character with it, the muzzle looks like what one might see on a real gun. However, when we get a closeup of it after Alex shouts at Olek Krupa and chases him away, the muzzle has a gaping hole in it, because it's a different bubble-squirting gun.

Continuity: Mr. Beaupre is talking to Alex in the garage, and Alex walks backwards away from him, he nearly touches the wooden shelf behind him. When it cuts to a wideshot Alex is now much further away from the shelf, and when it cuts to another closeup he once again walks back into the shelf.

Continuity: At one point, the mother gets an audible page. When she looks at the display to see the number, you can clearly see that the pager is set to "silent."

Continuity: When the leader of the robbers is looking for the chip he rips the car apart across the street in Mrs. Hess's house. He doesn't find it. About five minutes later the parrot is riding the car into the snow fort and again in the house.

Continuity: When Dupre knocks the washing basket off of the side, on top of the car, we see the basket land upside down, but in the next shot it is on its side.

Continuity: When Mrs. Hess gets off the plane to Chicago, in a wideshot as she places her bags down, her scarf hangs out of the bag, yet in the closeup of her taking out the scarf it is tucked in the bag.

Plot hole: The main criminal puts on the "butt inspection gloves" whilst searching the first house, but when Alex sees him through the telescope he pulls down the blinds and has black gloves on. Returning outside, they revert back. However, how does Alex know the criminal donned the rubber gloves (when he describes him to his mother), if he saw what we saw through the telescope - the black gloves?

Continuity: When the FBI are rushing to reach Alex, as the snowploughs sweep the spy's car aside the front plough sweeps to the left. Further down the street the front plough sweeps to the right.

Revealing: It's obvious the snow is fake. You can see when Alex runs outside in his pajamas.

Continuity: At the end, when the parrot is going into the igloo, the igloo looks tiny from the outside, as if Alex would barely fit in there. But when the parrot goes into the igloo, the man can fit in there and there is so much more space in it.

Deliberate "mistake": When one of the bad guys looks through the mail box slot, Alex sprays him in the eyes with black spray paint. Meaning the spray paint must have actually gone INTO his eyes, yet when he turns around, its only around the outer part of his eyes and no where in his eye balls.

Continuity: When Beaupre is approaching the pile of clothes that has the remote control car under, Alex rushes to the attic window and uses his remote control to turn the TV on in that house, to stall Beaupre. There is an item on top of the TV and in front of it too. These two items disappear as Beaupre approachs the TV.

Visible crew/equipment: When Mrs. Hess' TV is off, if you look closely you can see the camera filming the shot and it's stand.

Visible crew/equipment: Alex fixes the TV to show a camera picture. The next scene when two of the criminals pull up in the car next to a mirror, a crew member is blatantly visible in the reflection, if you look closely on the left hand side.

Factual error: In real life (there are a couple of scenes like this) snow doesn't fall from the sky at the intensity it was from clear skies.

Continuity: When Alex runs into the garage towards the end of the movie, we see sunlight shining in through the window. Wasn't it just grey and snowy outside?
