Judy Witwicky: [To Sam] Oh, for Pete's sake! You are so defensive! Were you masturbating?

Sam Witwicky: No!

Judy Witwicky: Well, we don't have to call it that word, if it makes you uncomfortable. We could call it..Sam's Happy Time.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam and Mikaela handcuff all the agents, Sam is wearing a black short-sleeved tee shirt atop a blue long-sleeved tee, before putting on the hoodie. We see the dark tee sticking out when he and Mikaela climb onto Prime. Then moments later, Sam is wearing ONLY a long white short-sleeved (we see it has short sleeves when Bumblebee gives him the All Spark later, through a tear in the hoodie sleeve) tee shirt under his hoodie, when he falls from Prime, when he witnesses Bumblebee's capture and thereafter. (Earlier, after he knocks Mikaela off the moped, from that point on there is a very large hole at the back of his blue and black tees, where we see his skin under the jagged material edges, with no white material seen anywhere. We also see no sign of a long white undershirt at any time when Sam's dark tees go up, during his many action shots.)

Mistake Continuity: Odd how Mikaela is not wearing her stud earrings when Sam leaves her to go to Bumblebee and she spots the tow truck across the street, and also when she arrives in the tow truck and says, "Sam, help me with this." Yet, she is wearing them between those shots, when she breaks into the tow truck and hotwires it, and in the prior and following shots.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When Frenzy attacks Sam, the teenager wears straight leg jeans with a narrow leg opening (not boot cut) and thick-soled Nikes, seen in numerous shots, as he kicks at the Decepticon. After the cut to Mikaela (who finds the reciprocating saw), during which Frenzy has already pulled off the bottom of Sam's jeans, Sam continues to kick and scream just before he gets up and runs. Problem is Sam still wears both thick-soled Nikes, neither of which slipped off as Frenzy maniacally pulled the jeans, with narrow leg openings, from his kicking legs/feet. Impossible even in the best of circumstances.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Sam is talking to Mikaela's boyfriend, you can see the camera and crew reflected in the Hummers mirrors.

Mistake Other: During the chase scene on the highway, when Sam says, "It's the same cop," they pan to a wide shot to show the whole freeway with the cars on it. All of the vehicles are on the wrong side of the freeway. When looking out of the back of his car, you can see the fronts of all of the cars coming towards the camera, and you can see the text on the signs facing the camera as well. You can also see crowds on the flyover, watching the filming.

Mistake Continuity: After class when Sam rushes to his father, who is waiting in his car, and tells him that he got an A-, the license plate is affixed to the front bumper. At the start of the next shot, the front license plate is gone, but it then reappears when they arrive at Bobby B's.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: During the attack on Hoover Dam, after Simmons rejects Sam's request to be brought to Bumblebee, when Simmons tells Lennox to drop his weapon, in the next overhead wideshot the grey tape marker between Lennox's and Simmons's feet is visible, as well as the tape marker at Secretary Keller's feet.

Mistake Factual error: Mikaela hot wires the tow truck by twisting two conveniently exposed and very long wires together. Allowing that this could work at all in a modern vehicle, it can't steer until the ignition lock is turned or removed, neither of which she does.

Mistake Continuity: When Banachek shows Secretary Kellar the photo of Blackout from Qatar, the photo is a photo taken of the transformer in the Beagle 2 video. It's not the photo Epps took of Blackout. You can tell because Blackout has a box-shaped body and the transformer in the photo has a slender body.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Glen sends the message, the soldier says, "Sir, I have authenticated air strike order from Sec Def.," In the next shot, just as Prime's silver bumper beneath the grille comes into view, the reflection of the crewmember who is standing on the filming vehicle's camera platform, beside the mounted camera, is visible on the right side.

Mistake Continuity: When Mikela hotwires the tow truck, it has an automatic gearshift. Later, when she is driving and Bumblebee is shooting, look closely, it's now a manual transmission.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: On the way to Mission City, just before Sam spots Optimus Prime, when the camera shows the front of Optimus Prime the camera truck/operator is reflected on the bumper.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Sam rushes to his waiting father after class and tells him about the A- they drive off. In the next close-up shot the filming vehicle, with its top mounted crane and camera at its front end, are reflected on the car's surface as they drive past, before pulling into the Porsche lot. As this shot continues, when they drive onto the Porsche lot, the filming vehicle directly behind them (note its headlights), is reflected on the large windows in front of them and when Sam is told he isn't really getting a Porsche the filming vehicle, which is now beside them, is reflected on the window to their left.

Mistake Continuity: Mikaela and Sam are handcuffed with their hands behind their backs, when Simmons explains to Prime that there are S-Seven protocols. In the overhead shot Simmons, Mikaela and Sam begin to exit the car and when it cuts to a close-up of Mikaela still exiting, she is already uncuffed and also has keys to unlock Sam's cuffs.

Mistake Continuity: After Mikaela and Sam walk away from all the handcuffed agents, when we hear an Autobots shout, "Optimus! Incoming!" the railroad crossing post is visible behind the Autobots, but Agent Simmons is not handcuffed to it. Then, when we hear, "Roll out!" Agent Simmons is handcuffed to that post as he should be.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Scorponok is damaged by the 105-shells in Qatar, as the camera is moving behind the soldiers, you can see the camera shadow moving on the wall to the left of the screen.

Mistake Factual error: In the beginning scenes which take place in Qatar (not Bahrain), you can see tall mountains all around in the background. Qatar is surrounded by desert and a few hills such as Tuwayyir al Hamir that are up to about 325 ft in height, but it has NO tall mountains. All filming locations are in the US. (Topography of Qatar)

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: At Hoover Dam, after the salute, when Defense Secretary Keller speaks with Lennox and Epps, the reflection of the white reflector screen is visible on Keller's glasses. What's more, the boom mic's reflection is actually visible within the reflector screen's reflection. Two for the price of one.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After the agents are handcuffed, when the Autobots transform into their respective vehicle modes as one of them says, "Roll out!", there are three black ramps positioned in front of the sidewalk, which were not there before. The Autobots use them when driving up onto the sidewalk.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Bumblebee locks its doors with Mikaela and Sam inside, the Camaro speeds past Barricade and does a 180° spin. Just before the shot cuts away, as the passenger door first opens there is a perfect view of the back right tire, where we can see the stunt cable attached to under the tire.

Mistake Revealing: In the final battle, Captain Lennox is going to shoot Blackout. He gets on a motorcycle, goes really fast, and then slides off the bike and down the street. While he is sliding, he shoots Blackout. When Lennox gets to his feet, you can see his back, and his shirt is not worn away at all. It isn't even discolored.

Mistake Revealing: When Blackout is destroying the base in Qatar, a few Humvees get flipped over, and none of them have engines in them.

Mistake Continuity: Mikaela begins cuffing the undershirt/boxer wearing Agent Simmons arms around a post in the wideshot, then it cuts to the close-up, as she handcuffs the dark suit wearing right wrist of one agent to the dark suit wearing left wrist of another agent. Then in the two following shots we see that she and Sam have actually just cuffed the undressed Agent Simmons left wrist to the dark suit wearing second agent.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: As Barricade and Bumblebee are fighting, when Frenzy attacks Sam and pulls off his pants, the padded black knee guard (with a white stripe at the top and bottom) that Sam wears on his right leg is visible when he is lying on his back, just after he shouts, "He's gonna kill me!" It's gone in the previous and following shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Maggie arrives at Glen's house, in the shot facing him as he shouts at his grandmother, Maggie's open empty right hand is up just as it cuts to the next shot, but now her compact is in her right hand.

Mistake Continuity: During Sam's family genealogy report, when he holds up Captain Witwicky's glasses to show the class, there are cracks in certain areas of both lenses. Those cracks actually change position and characteristics when we see the glasses elsewhere in the film, such as on eBay and when Prime explains their importance to Sam and Mikaela when they first meet.

Mistake Continuity: In the junkyard when Bumblebee is trying to get away form the "cop", after Bumblebee locks the doors with Sam and Mikaela inside, the windows continually change from being up and down.

Mistake Continuity: During the final battle, Sam and Mikaela tie Bumblebee down to the truck. When Mikaela says, "No matter what happens, I'm really glad I got in that car with you," Bumblebee is gone.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Banachek and Simmons are talking to Sam at the entrance of the Hoover Dam, you can see the white lighting panels reflected in their sunglasses.

Mistake Continuity: In this movie, we see a close up shot of Mikaela's hands in three separate scenes. The first is a shot from behind Mikaela and Sam where they grasp hands and the camera closes in on that. You see Mikaela's short nails, with chipped red polish. The second time we see her hands is a shot where she covers her open mouth with both of her hands in shock. Her nails are unpolished. Finally, the third time is during the ending sequence where both she and Sam have been thrown to the ground near each other. Mikaela stretches her hand toward him, they touch fingertips, and the red nail polish is back.

Mistake Continuity: When Mikaela looks under Bumblebee's hood, in close-up shots, her tummy is shiny and oily. In other shots, it is completely dry.

Mistake Audio problem: Before they leave for Mission City, Lennox tells Keller, "Sir, you gotta figure out some way to get word out..." Then in the next shot, as Lennox shouts, "Let's move!," his mouth stays open - not forming the "m" with his lips to produce the word "move", which we hear very clearly (it looks as if he really said, "Let's go!"). Changes in dialogue are done during ADR and often are not in sync with mouth movements seen onscreen.

Mistake Continuity: When Simmons leads the way into the room with the old Army radio console, he pushes open the massive doors with Keller and the rest behind him (we see the very distinctive wall opposite those doors). When Frenzy pays them a visit at those doors, just as Simmons shouts, "Burn, you little sucker!" in the overhead shot, that side of the doors (in the hallway) is once again visible, only they look completely different now.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the aerial shot, as Starscream flies past the glass building with the names "Deloitte and Touche" (before his first attack on those in Mission City), we see the reflection of the filming helicopter behind Starscream, just beneath the names.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Sam tries to hand off the All Spark, the chopper is shot down by Starscream. When the chopper wreckage flies over Sam lying on the ground, the black protective gear is visible between Sam's pants and tee shirt.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Sam is interrogated by Barricade, when Sam knocks Mikaela off her moped the black protective gear that Mikaela wears is visible. It is gone when she gets in the car with Sam.

Mistake Continuity: At the Pentagon, when Maggie is sitting with her team of 'experts' and one suggests Iran, in the shot facing Maggie's back her file folder is closed and lying on the table in front of her, but in the next shot, she closes the open folder. Between these two shots, the analyst to her right goes from holding his headset by his ear, to holding a pen on the book in front of him.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam and his parents are being arrested by the Sector 7 officers, inside the house Sam is wearing a blue Strokes t-shirt over a long sleeved shirt. When the shot changes and Sam and his parents are being led in hand cuffs to the police cars, a brown sweatshirt is tucked between Sam's left arm and his back due to the handcuffs. In the next shot, Sam is wearing the brown sweatshirt as he says a line of dialogue. The camera cuts to Agent Simmons of Sector 7, then goes back to Sam, who is now wearing the Strokes shirt and the brown sweatshirt is draped over his left shoulder.

Mistake Continuity: When Jazz uses his magnetic hand to remove some of the guns from the Sector 7 people, the guns fly into his palm, but in the next shot, his hand is down and there are no guns in his hand or on the ground. He couldn't have put his hand down or thrown the guns away that fast between the shots.

Mistake Continuity: When the SUVs arrive at the Hoover Dam, the lead car pulls up to the curb and the doors open directly in front of the first elevator tower (there are four, which are seen in overhead shots), on its right, with the two Nevada intake towers well ahead of the SUV, on its left. Next close-up, however, as Sam exits the SUV the vehicle is now parked farther up the road, directly in front of the Nevada intake towers to its left and closer to the second elevator tower. Note the yellow pedestrian walkway markings (leading to the Nevada intake towers) the SUV is parked on in the second shot.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Upon arrival at Hoover Dam, just as Sam exits the SUV the reflection of the camera/crane is visible on the vehicle's black surface, at the left, just before it tracks backwards into an overhead shot.

Mistake Continuity: Aboard Air Force One, when Frenzy kills the first two Secret Service agents, the second agent falls back into the hallway, but his feet are still in the room over the bottom raised lip of the doorway. When the third agent fires on Frenzy, the legs of that second agent are lying flat on the room's floor, right beside the first agent that was hit. Note that the agent's legs are also beside the shelving unit, which is a good distance from the door.

Mistake Continuity: When Mikaela looks under the hood and fiddles with Bumblebee's distributor cap, her long hair is either behind her shoulders or in front, depending on the angle of the shot.

Mistake Continuity: At the park, when Sam decides to drive Mikaela home, Miles is in the car with his right arm (viewer's left) up behind his head, but in his close-ups his arm is down.

Mistake Continuity: In class for his genealogy report, when Sam begins to dump his great-great-grandfather's belongings onto the desk, while the backpack is upside-down it turns around from front to back, between the wideshot and next close-up.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam's parents begin knocking on his bedroom door, Prime says, "Ratchet, point the light," and nothing is on the bathroom windowsill, but when Ron is searches Sam's bathroom with the flashlight there are two small overturned flower pots lying on that windowsill. The flower pots are gone again when Ironhide asks, "The parents are very irritating, can I take them out?

Mistake Continuity: Just as Mikaela comes to the rescue with the reciprocating saw, when she holds the saw up in front of her face just before she starts to hack away at Frenzy, the saw's blade clamp assembly is about 8-9 inches. After Sam kicks Frenzy, the saw on Mikaela's shoulder has a different configuration with a shorter blade clamp assembly unit. The blade differs as well.

Mistake Continuity: When Scorponok's tail is being examined aboard the transport plane, as it curls itself to strike, Epps jumps back with his hands up near his head, but next shot Epps's hand is positioned on the table for the dramatic near miss.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam and Mikaela are in the SUV with Simmons, the look of the backseat of the vehicle, between the two teenagers, changes when Prime appears, and provides them with his version of a sun-roof.

Mistake Continuity: After Sam takes off running with the All Spark, heading for the building, Prime is shown driving down the street towards a collection of garbage bins. In the next shot, before Prime hits them, all the garbage bins are set up very differently.

Mistake Continuity: Before Barricade interrogates Sam, the Decepticon throws Sam on the windshield of a car, and a wheel falls off the car's roof, but then reappears back on the roof in a following shot.

Mistake Continuity: While standing in front of a frozen Megatron, after Banacheck explains that Sam's great-great-grandfather made one of the greatest discoveries, Sam and Mikaela are shoulder to shoulder, but in the next back shot they are 4-5 feet apart. They're beside each other again in following shots.

Mistake Continuity: The rather large hole at the back of Sam's long and short-sleeved tee shirts, that appears after Barricade interrogates him and he knocks Mikaela off her moped, changes size, position etc. There are other small rips around that hole that appear, disappear and change as well.

Mistake Continuity: When Mikaela has Bumblebee at the back of Mike's Towing truck, she drives down an alleyway, and when she stops the truck in the close-up there is a trashcan and other debris between the front two tires, which vanish in the wideshot.

Mistake Continuity: When Agent Simmons takes Mikaela and Sam into custody, the headrests in the SUV vanish when Prime shows up. The driver's headrest is visible just after they enter the car. When Sam says, "My car had been stolen, from me, from my home," and when Simmons asks, "What do you kids know about aliens?" the headrest behind Sam is visible, among other moments.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam kicks Frenzy like a football in the wideshot, the right side of his boxers are torn straight up the leg, but are intact thereafter.

Mistake Continuity: When boxer wearing Sam begins to run away from Frenzy, in the shot facing his legs from behind he is wearing blue socks with black stripes, but then it changes to blue socks with white stripes.

Mistake Continuity: When Frenzy is attacking boxer wearing Sam at the fence, Sam's right sleeve at the elbow gets torn while fighting the little lunatic. That large hole disappears when Mikaela arrives with the DeWalt Reciprocating Saw.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam, who is wearing boxers, is running from away Frenzy there is a large tear on his left sleeve, at the elbow. When Sam reaches the fence Frenzy attacks him, and as Sam covers his head with his arms we see the tear is gone from his left sleeve (viewer's right).

Mistake Continuity: When Barricade interrogates Sam about the glasses, the cracks on the shattered glass windshield under Sam disappear, reappear and change characteristics between the interior (inside the car), overhead and close-up shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam is being chased by Barricade, he is thrown on the windshield of a car and then mutters about it being a bad dream. In the next shot, a wheel and other junk has suddenly appeared on the car's roof.

Mistake Continuity: After Sam is knocked off the pink bike, he ends up on the ground as Barricade, aka the police cruiser, drives forward causing Sam to keep backing up, which leaves the bike near the back of the cruiser. Yet, when Barricade threatens Sam with its weapons, the bike is right beside the cruiser's front end again.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Sam is being interrogated at the police station, the cop catches the drug bottle with the bottom facing up. When it cuts, the top is facing up.

Mistake Continuity: Mikaela gets a tow truck to move Bumblebee after he lost his legs. At first, the writing on the left door says 'Mike's Towing - 800-555-0199.' When she gets out to hoist Bumblebee up, the writing on the same door has changed to 'Mike's Towing - 800-333-MIKE'.

Mistake Revealing: A yellow Pontiac GTO gets shot up, then gets blown in half with the rear end landing inside a shop window. If you look at the sideskirt of the car before it gets destroyed, you can see the cut already in the sideskirt where it will split apart.

Mistake Continuity: When we hear Sam's recording on his phone, it sounds nothing like what he actually recorded.

Mistake Revealing: At night, when Sam's car is running away by itself, you can see out of the windows that it was filmed in broad daylight.

Mistake Continuity: At Hoover Dam, when Sam tells Banacheck the terms of his cooperation (which include expunging Mikaela's juvenile record), Mikaela's high-gloss lip gloss disappears in her close-up, then reappears.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After Banacheck walks away with Sam and Mikaela, when Agent Simmons stands by himself on the Hoover Dam intake tower walkway and says, "The man's an extortionist," the reflector screen is reflected in his sunglasses.

Mistake Continuity: At Hoover Dam, when the soldiers salute Keller the clock reads 10:00, then as Keller, the soldiers, Maggie and Glen walk away in the background, when Simmons tells Sam that they got off to a bad start the clock reads 11:35, and next shot when Banacheck interrupts it reads 11:43. Also when Simmons talks to Mikaela and Sam the word "Nevada" is gone and it only reads "Time" under the clock. Then when Banacheck says, "Come with me, we'll talk about your car," the word "Nevada" is back under the clock.

Mistake Continuity: As we are hearing Prime explaining, "They're a young species, they have much to learn," we see S-Seven's SUVs pull up to the curb at Hoover Dam and the doors open, right beside the vertical guardrail posts with the horizontal beams. In the next close-up, all of the horizontal beams have vanished.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam grabs his mom's pink bike, there is nothing in the white basket at the handlebars as he flees from Bumblebee. However, at the start of the shot just before the tire hits the broken concrete, a square pink pillow suddenly appears in the basket, before flying out as Sam flips over.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam pursues Bumblebee on his bike, as he is on the phone with 911 there is a close-up of Sam's feet pedaling. After Bumblebee breaks through the gate, there is another close-up of Sam's feet pedaling, but now the gears/chain are different.

Mistake Continuity: After Frenzy uses the POTUS mainframe aboard Air Force One, when he kills the third agent the man falls backward towards the back wall, but in the next shot as the other agents arrive, the body faces the opposite way.

Mistake Continuity: Before Frenzy goes to the POTUS mainframe, aboard Air Force One, in the overhead shot of the cabin the seated Secret Service agent holds in both hands the unopened USA Today, with the back's weather page facing out. Next shot, the newspaper is open in his hands.

Mistake Continuity: At Bobbie B's, when Sam first opens Bumblebee's driver-side door, the gas pump's white steel guardrail is directly behind him, aligned with the driver's seat, but when all the windows shatter, Bumblebee's front fender is aligned with the guardrail, though Bumblebee has not moved. Same goes for the VW Beetle beside the Autobot.

Mistake Continuity: When Bobby B. walks with Ron and Sam to the main used lot, where Bumblebee and the VW Beetle are located, most of the cars opposite Bumblebee and to its side actually change make, color, etc., from the time Ron makes the U-turn, to when all the windows shatter and shots between. Examples are: there is a camper parked in the fifth space which changes to a car; the yellow hatchback behind Sam when he opens the car door changes to a light blue car; and the two blue cars (one with a spoiler) parked beside Jaime, the ostrich, which change to a dark car and yellow hatchback.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron and Sam, followed by Bumblebee, make the U-turn in front of Bobby B's and then park, the spinning 'Bobby B. sez...let's talk deals' sign is to the left of the three vintage gas pumps, near the clown. When Bobby B. puts his arm around Sam's shoulder and says, "Sam, your first enchilada of freedom..." the spinning sign is now on the other side of the pumps, where there wasn't a spinning sign previously.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron and Sam park in front of Bobby B's, there are three cars parked in front of the three pumps - a white vinyl top, a wagon, and a red car. When Sam says, "You said half a car, not half a piece of crap, Dad," the red car has been replaced with an old blue Plymouth, specifically for the "50-year-old virgin" joke, because the red car is back in following shots.

Mistake Continuity: When Prime lifts Mikaela up to Sam's bathroom window, there are two baseballs in acrylic display cases and another object (looks like a vintage camera) on the windowsill (beside the tub). Then when Sam runs to that window and sees the Autobots parked as if it were a "truckstop", all those items disappear and are replaced by two small overturned flowers pots.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron (holding a flashlight and lantern) is looking through Sam's bathroom window, saying, "Judy, better call the city. We got a blown transformer...," there is no windowbox under that window, which was there earlier. Yet when Prime says "Ironhide, you know we don't harm humans! What is with you?" the rather large windowbox full of flowers is back up under that bathroom window.

Mistake Continuity: After Mikaela hacks away at Frenzy, when Sam kicks him like a football he uses his right foot in the close-up, but his left foot in the wideshot.

Mistake Continuity: When Bumblebee "breaks down" on the side of the road, a book appears in Sam's hand that wasn't there before.

Mistake Continuity: In the battle scene with Frenzy in the dam, Agent Simmons uses a flamethrower to push Frenzy away a good distance from the door but in the next shot Frenzy is already halfway through the door.

Mistake Revealing: When Bonecrusher throws the car off the car-carrier, you can see that the underside is just a flat black-painted surface with no gas tank.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Sam and his friend head for the party at the lake, as they drive by the lake and the camera cranes up to show the lake, you can blatantly see the shadow of the camera on the crane moving up.

Mistake Factual error: When briefing the Secretary of Defence, Banacheck refers to NASA/JPL having lost the Beagle 2 probe on Mars. Beagle 2 was part of the European Space Agency Mars Express mission. NASA/JPL were not involved. Beagle 2 was also not a rover-type mission, as portrayed in the film, but a static scientific lander.

Mistake Continuity: When Bumblebee's legs are destroyed, as Sam leans over in front of him and asks if he's alright, Sam wears blue patterned boxers, but when Lennox runs up to Sam, who is standing on the tow truck helping Mikaela hoist Bumblebee, Sam's boxers are grey (as seen between his white tee and jeans). Then, when Sam is on the roof running, after the chopper is hit, his boxers are blue patterned.

Mistake Revealing: When Ironhide shouts, "Incoming!" as Starscream fires on them, Lennox and Epps are blown backwards and slam onto the ground. The shot of them hitting the ground and the next close-up of Lennox are flipped shots. Note the reversed 'Broadway Bar' sign and Lennox's watch.

Mistake Audio problem: When Lennox is speaking to his wife via the PC, when we hear him say, "Oh my goodness, look at her. She's getting so big," there is no mouth movement whatsoever.

Mistake Continuity: In the opening attack scene on Soccent AFB, Colonel Sharp pulls an axe off the wall to literally cut the server hard lines. This axe was not on the wall in the earlier dialogue between Colonel Sharp and the one who was telling him about the unidentified aircraft.

Mistake Character mistake: Sam says that Archibald Witwicky explored the Arctic Circle in 1897. But when Frenzy finds the article, it is dated 1895.

Mistake Other: When Sam and Mikaela are parked at the top of a cliff after "breaking down", Mikaela lifts the Bonnet of Bumblebee to check the engine. Mikaela, who's the car expert, states the motor has a carburetor, yet the manifold on the engine was one for a direct injection motor.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": If you pay extremely close attention to the scene of all of the Deceptacons responding to the small Transformer's message regarding the location of the Allspark, notice that the shot of the police car and the fake helicopter pilot are duplicate shots used earlier in the film.

Mistake Revealing: When Blackout sees the green laser light on him, he turns around and flips over some cars, a couple of which don't have engines in them.

Mistake Revealing: When Devastator (the tank-bot) is activated and exits its base through a fence, the upper, obviously-rubber, cannon barrels wiggle around.

Mistake Continuity: After Sam and Mikaela arrive at the Griffith Park Observatory (the planetarium closed for renovation), when they start to hold hands the distance between the two of them changes from farther apart, to close together, to farther apart.

Mistake Factual error: The Secretary of Defense states that the remains of the defeated Decepticons were dropped into the Laurentian Abyss, "the deepest point on Earth". The deepest point on Earth is actually Challenger Deep, in the Mariana Trench. Given the location was specifically chosen BECAUSE it's the deepest point on earth, it would have been properly researched by the characters, making this a movie mistake rather than a character mistake.

Mistake Continuity: In the city, after Ironhide flips over the missiles that Devastator shot at him, he can be seen falling very close to the ground, but in the next shot, he is much higher up so that he can then shoot himself back up-right.

Mistake Factual error: When the Secretary of Defense is talking about dispatching battle groups to various places around the planet, we get various shots of a Carrier Battle Group. Now this movie is set in 2007. On the aft end of the carrier are F-14 Tomcats. The last Tomcat was retired from service in September of 2006, almost a year before the movie takes place.

Mistake Continuity: After Sam knocks Mikaela off her moped, they are both on the ground right beside the moped when Bumblebee shows up, but in the overhead shot as Sam helps Mikaela up the moped is gone, not moved, just gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Bumblebee is caught, so are Sam and Mikaela. They were on the ground being handcuffed. But then Sam gets away and starts running for Bumblebee to stop him from being frozen. Sam is no longer handcuffed at this point.

Mistake Continuity: When Captain Lennox's wife is watching the broadcast saying that everyone at Qatar was killed, the door is wide open. When she sits down to feed her baby, the door is now closed and the high chair has been moved accordingly.

Mistake Continuity: During the final battle, Sam rolls on the pavement and reverses direction as a jet-bot lands and transforms. The next wide shot shows Sam scurrying alongside the passenger-side fender of a black Mercedes sedan as another black car is tumbling over the Mercedes' hood, its doors wide open. This same moment repeats in the next shot, from another angle, but suddenly Sam isn't at the fender of the Mercedes- he has vanished. The angle changes again and the same moment repeats a 3rd time, and Sam is still missing. Then, a closeup shot is looking up past Sam as mayhem rages above, and the black Mercedes he huddles against is suddenly a red car.

Mistake Continuity: When Mikaela is telling Captain Lennox that she'll leave as soon as she gets Bumblebee out of the area, watch her hair. At first, her back is to the camera and her hair is perfectly smooth but when the camera is facing her, her hair is extremely messy.

Mistake Factual error: The guys in the pentagon say "Predator's coming up in a minute". Twenty seconds later we see this so-called Predator. It has a jet engine and a regular V tail. An RQ-1 Predator UAV has a four-cylinder engine (propellers) and inverted-V tails - /\. An MQ-9 still has propellers - so no jet engines yet!

Mistake Continuity: During the chase scene, where Bonecrusher and Barricade are chasing the Autobots on the highway, Bonecrusher transforms into robot mode and is shown skating across a 6 lane highway. Optimus Prime is shown to transform into his robot form to fight Bonecrusher. You can see the 6 lane highway in front of Prime stretch on as far as the eye can see, and there are no ramps or overpasses anywhere in sight. Yet at the moment of impact, when Bonecrusher tackles Prime, they are suddenly on a highway overpass, which they fall off of, and fall onto ANOTHER highway overpass.

Mistake Continuity: When Bumblebee is captured by Sector Seven, the camera goes back to Optimus Prime talking to Mikaela and Sam. If you look at her hair, it is loose and flowing. In the next shots when Sector Seven capture them, Mikaela's hair is tied up at the back, she had no time to tie it up.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the base in Qatar is attacked, in one shot two crew members, one with a camera, can be seen towards the left side of the screen.

Mistake Other: When checking the eBay auction for his ancestor's glasses, the seller name is listed as 'Ron Witwicky'. eBay would list Sam's user name - 'ladiesman217' - as the seller, not a full name that isn't even his. It is clearly established throughout the film as the glasses are being sold through Sam's own account.

Mistake Continuity: When the news crew is interviewing Sam's parents during the credits, the way Ron holds Mojo changes.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene when Sam is being chased by two dogs and is led into a strange-looking place, when Sam climbs on top of a barrel, notice that the dogs disappear once Bumblebee drives in. Also notice that when Bumblebee drives into that place, he does a 180-degree slide, and in the next shot he's seen circling around Sam.

Mistake Revealing: When the bus splits, you can see that it has no seats or passengers.

Mistake Other: When Mikaela and Sam are in his car when he gives her a ride from the lake, both windows are open but her hair doesn't blow around at all - like it would if they were really open.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning of the scene where the Decepticon is on Air force One they show a 747 but when they land and they show the Decepticon sneaking off the plane the Air Force One shown is a KC-135. Although you don't see the whole plane, the engines are that of a KC-135, long and slender versus big and round like a 747. Also, you can see the refueling boom, which a 747 does not have.

Mistake Revealing: When Sam Witwicky's great-grandfather activates Megatron's navigation system, he is blown back. As he falls, you can see one of Megatron's robotic fingers wiggle.

Mistake Continuity: When we hear the Qatar base commander say: "4500X, something's not right," we see the sun has already set (the sky is purple) but when everyone starts to mobilize, the sun is still visible above the horizon.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the soldiers discovers the telephone line in Qatar, Scorponok tears down the tower. As the tower hits the ground we get a frontal view of the soldier wearing glasses. As the soldier turns his head we can see the film crew reflected in his glasses.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene in the interrogation room with the two programmers there is a big plate of doughnuts which the hacker eats very quickly. But take a look at the plate between shots when he's talking and you'll see that the amount of doughnut left on the plate varies greatly: Sometimes there's one whole doughnut left, other times, in the same conversation, there's only crumbs.

Mistake Other: During the last fight, Megatron and Optimus Prime flies through an office building while locked in combat. It is shown that the interior of this building is filled with both people and furniture, but when they crash through the last wall, only building debris fall to the ground with them. No people, furniture, office supplies, papers or any of the things that the building was full of.

Mistake Factual error: In the scene when the Predator is being sent in. You see that it has a turbofan engine. If it was in fact a Predator, it would have a turboprop engine. On the other hand, a Global Hawk UAV has a turbofan engine.

Mistake Continuity: When the Autobots arrive at Sam's house, we only see Optimus, Jazz, and Bumblebee driving up to the house. But when they transform, Ironhide and Ratchet have appeared and Jazz is nowhere to be seen. Later, Jazz appears from nowhere. Also, when Sector 7 arrives, the Autobots are gone without a trace.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam and his friend drive into the park to attend the party, the colour and angle of the sun's rays seem to indicate that the sun will be setting soon. However, when Sam starts talking to Michaela's boyfriend, the sun is much higher and brighter than when Sam arrived a few minutes earlier.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, during Blackout's inbound flight, Blackout is ten miles out. When the two F-22s take off, the angle between the planes and their shadows on the ground is around 60°. This puts the sun somewhere in the middle of the day. Yet, when Blackout lands at the base it's just after sunset.

Mistake Continuity: When Banacheck shows Sen. Kelly comparative photos of Blackout with the one from the beagle probe and Epp's photo, the latter one shows the sun behind Blackout although it was taken at night.

Mistake Revealing: When Sam flips over on the bike, in one shot you can see that it is a stuntman who looks much older than Sam.

Mistake Other: In the scene in which the US Army SpecOps survivors of Qatar are being picked up, they were sent a Huey. However, the US Army has replaced the Hueys with the Blackhawk.

Mistake Factual error: When Defense Secretary Keller is having the press conference at the pentagon after the attack at Qatar he said "bases worldwide are at Defcon Delta our highest readiness level" which is incorrect. DEFCON stands for defense readiness condition and is ranked in numbers from 1-5. Force Protection Condition (FPCON) also know as (THREATCON) is ranked from Alpha to Delta, Delta being the highest level. FPCON measures the defensive state of American bases while DEFCON measures preparations for war.

Mistake Continuity: When the troop is flying in the helicopter at the start of the movie, Epps is not wearing sunglasses. When it cuts back to him, he is, then again it cuts away and back several times and you can see an indentation on the side of his head where the Oakley sunglasses were.

Mistake Continuity: When Sam is looking at Bumblebee at the car lot, he wipes some of the grease off of the Autobot insignia. When Bumblebee blows out all the windows, all the grease is gone.

Mistake Factual error: When Barricade interrogates Sam, he asks him if he is "Username ladiesman217" and "Where is eBay item 21153". However, it is impossible for an item sold so recently to be that item number. If you sell an item now, it would be over item number 200000000000.
