A change from the theatrical re-release for the 25th anniversary and the video release. In the first Taft Hotel bedroom scene, a nervous Ben asks Mrs. Robinson if she would like "Wood or Wire [hanger]?" In the theater, her response was, "wood." Which led to the wonderful pratfall of Ben trying to take the wood one, which wouldn't come off. But it was changed in the 25th anniversary video release and her response was, "Either one would be fine." See more...

Continuity: Benjamin and his mother have a conversation in the bathroom as he's shaving and he cuts his thumb on the razor. If you look closely the part of his thumb that's cut is nowhere near the razor, only his thumbnail is.

Continuity: Benjamin and Mrs. Robinson have a rendezvous and while they're in bed in the dark he tries to get her to talk about her life and her husband. If you look closely after she turns the light back on the drapes on the window behind the lamp in the rear of the room have been rearranged without anyone going near them. This happens a couple of times throughout the scene.

Continuity: Benjamin brings up Mrs. Robinson's purse who says, "Put it in Elaine's room, where we were". He proceeds to put it next to a vase on the first shelf to the right of her picture. We've seen this shelf a few seconds before and all that was there was a cup and a pink basket that are now gone.

Continuity: Benjamin walks into his apartment and Mr. Robinson is sitting there waiting for him and his face and the back of his head are totally dark. In the next shot we see his face again and the left side is lit up.

Continuity: The scene with Mr. Robinson in Benjamin's apartment lasts two and a half minutes. When Benjamin walked into the apartment his coat is soaking wet but as he leaves and walks past Mr. McCleery it's dry.

Visible crew/equipment: The Robinson's have a mirrored headboard and as they zoom in on Mrs. Robinson as she calls the police, if you look closely you can see the camera's shadow move across the sofa in the mirror.

Continuity: Benjamin goes into the bathroom looking for Carl Smith's friend Carter and there are many cans of shaving cream etc. in front of all the guys standing at the 5 sinks. In the next shot the shaving cream cans are gone.

Continuity: Benjamin pulls a cross off the window of the church and uses it to lock the people inside the church. If you look closely when we see the church from the outside the cross is not there and before he pulls it off the window there's a curtain in front of it, which disappears between shots.

Factual error: At one point Ben Braddock is in a cafe on Telegraph Avenue drinking a beer. At the time the film was made, no restaurant within a mile of campus was allowed to serve alcoholic beverages.

Visible crew/equipment: Benjamin stands up and we see a large moving shadow on the wall behind him, as Mrs. Robinson accidentally walks into his room thinking it's the bathroom.

Revealing: After he bangs on the second floor church window, Elaine screams his name and Benjamin runs down the steps to the main floor of the church. Mr. Robinson meets him halfway down as they fight and if you look closely Benjamin's white windbreaker was made to just fall apart as Mr. Robinson tugs on it.

Continuity: Mr. Robinson sits in Benjamin's apartment waiting for him by the window as he smokes a cigar. In the first shot of this scene the cigar is lit, he never puts it out but several seconds later we see it again and it isn't. Then in the shot after that we see smoke blowing through the air as we look at Benjamin face.

Audio problem: When they play the "Sounds Of Silence" and get to the verse "And the people bowed and prayed", "and the people" was left off of the closed captioning. In the verse "And the sign flashed out its warning", "and the sign flashed out" is left off. In fact half of the song is left out.
