Factual error: There is a scene with Dustin Hoffman going to Berkeley but his car is driving on the upper deck of Bay Bridge which only goes in the direction of San Francisco.

Plot hole: In one scene, he's driving from Los Angeles to Berkeley in a hurry, and crosses the bridge again (in the wrong direction). But the most direct route from L.A. to Berkeley doesn't require you to cross the Bay Bridge in EITHER direction.

Continuity: When Benjamin is running up the stairs of his rooming house with a stack of presents and a big bouquet of flowers, the flowers are pointing down held by his left hand with the presents in front of him. When he rounds the corner of the stairs, the flowers are upright in front of both him and the presents.

Continuity: Benjamin follows Elaine and meets up with her on a bus as she's going to the zoo to meet her boyfriend. After Elaine and her boyfriend walk off and leave Benjamin alone he looks over at two monkeys sitting in their cage. The first time we see them they're sitting next to a window, but in the next shot of them we're looking at two different monkeys that are not sitting next to a window. Submitted by ????

Deliberate "mistake": When we look toward the bar, Mrs. Robinson's calf is well below the edge of the bar. In the next classic shot of Benjamin filmed from behind the bar through Mrs. Robinson's bent leg, her calf is above the bar. Submitted by ????

Continuity: As Mrs. Robinson walks into Benjamin's room we see his dart board and someone has been playing between shots as the red dart above the board on the wallpaper moves six lines to the left. Submitted by ????

Visible crew/equipment: Benjamin stands up and we see a large moving shadow on the wall behind him, as Mrs. Robinson accidentally walks into his room thinking it's the bathroom. Submitted by ????

Revealing: After he bangs on the second floor church window, Elaine screams his name and Benjamin runs down the steps to the main floor of the church. Mr. Robinson meets him halfway down as they fight and if you look closely Benjamin's white windbreaker was made to just fall apart as Mr. Robinson tugs on it. Submitted by ????

Continuity: Mr. Robinson sits in Benjamin's apartment waiting for him by the window as he smokes a cigar. In the first shot of this scene the cigar is lit, he never puts it out but several seconds later we see it again and it isn't. Audio problem: When they play the "Sounds Of Silence" and get to the verse "And the people bowed and prayed", "and the people" was left off of the closed captioning. In the verse "And the sign flashed out its warning", "and the sign flashed out" is left off. In fact half of the song is left out. Submitted by ????

Continuity: Benjamin walks into his apartment and Mr. Robinson is sitting there waiting for him and his face and the back of his head are totally dark. In the next shot we see his face again and the left side is lit up. Submitted by ????

Continuity: The scene with Mr. Robinson in Benjamin's apartment lasts two and a half minutes. When Benjamin walked into the apartment his coat is soaking wet but as he leaves and walks past Mr. McCleery it's dry. Submitted by ????

Continuity: Benjamin pulls a cross off the window of the church and uses it to lock the people inside the church. If you look closely when we see the church from the outside the cross is not there and before he pulls it off the window there's a curtain in front of it, which disappears between shots. Continuity: As Benjamin runs into the Robinson house his feet are soaking wet and they leave several footprints in front of the doorway. When Mrs. Robinson runs in a couple of seconds later the floor is dry. Submitted by ????

Continuity: Benjamin goes into the bathroom looking for Carl Smith's friend Carter and there are many cans of shaving cream etc. in front of all the guys standing at the 5 sinks. In the next shot the shaving cream cans are gone. Submitted by ????

Continuity: Mr. Robinson confronts Benjamin in his apartment about the affair with Mrs. Robinson. As Mr. Robinson sits by the window the lamp shade to his right is dark, later when we see the lamp shade again as he gets ready to leave it's lit up. Submitted by ????
