Sharpay: We need to save our show from people who don't know the difference between a Tony Award and Tony Hawk.
Trivia
In this film (unlike HSM2), Zac Efron's (Troy) singing voice is actually Andrew Seeley's singing. It is Seeley who sings "Get'cha Head in the Game" in its entirety and the reprise of "What I've Been Looking For." The only parts that are actually Zac's vocals are: the first four lines of "Start of Something New," the singing on Gabriella's balcony, and the very first sentence of "Breaking Free." The producers wanted a tenor, which Zac is not. See more...

Revealing: During "Getcha Head in the Game" Right before everyone is about to do the big basketball dance the guy in the background to the left of the screen mouths "I Gotta" while Troy's singing them.
Continuity: In the locker room scene where Troy walks in and his teammates confront him, Zeke describes the MVP in his picture, sits down, and puts the picture on the table twice.
Audio problem: In "What I've Been Looking For", when Sharpay sings the last verse the first time around, listen closely as Ryan takes away the microphone. Her voice remains the same volume, and does not get any quieter as Ryan pulls away the microphone.
Factual error: In the scene where Taylor is trying to prove to Gabriella that Troy is a dumb jock who doesn't care about her, Troy is in the locker room with his friends. Troy's friends are recording Troy on a camera attached to a PC, and the image is seen on Taylor's PC. The message on Taylor's PC says an incorrectly spelled 'Recieving WiFi Signal' instead of 'Receiving'.
Continuity: During the "Status Quo" number, we never see Gabriella walking through the cafeteria in the wideshot, after she talks to Taylor, unless it is a close up shot of her.
Continuity: When everyone is in home room and they are getting their phones taken away, Troy is shutting his phone in a close up, and then when they show the whole class, his phone is open again.
Other: During the musical auditions, the pairs audition doesn't start until halfway through the auditions. But the disturbing dancers were a pair audition and Ryan and Sharpay were the only pairs.
Continuity: When Gabriella gets her picture taken on Troy's cellphone, she looks directly at the lens. When Troy looks at the picture, it's an angled shot of Gabriella and she's looking elsewhere.
Revealing: In the final scene "We're All In This Together", when Ryan is getting ready to jump off of the bleachers and be caught by his classmates, you can see Troy motion for Gabriella to move forward into the correct position for the shot.
Continuity: Near the end of "Start of Something New" when Troy is saying "new" he moves the mic away from his mouth, but you can still hear him saying "new" before he puts it back to his mouth.
Audio problem: When Troy and Gabriella are singing "Breaking Free" for the last time, Gabriella moves her mic away from her mouth numerous times, yet her voice never gets quieter.
Continuity: We see a close up of Gabriella slipping in some milk, but in the wide shots there is no milk or carton on the floor.
Continuity: When Gabriella is shown Troy on the laptop, dismissing the musical, she begins to cry. She still has wet tear streaks on her face as she looks out the window, but as "When There Was Me and You" begins, her face is dry.

Continuity: When Troy and Gabriella exchange numbers, Troy uses Gabriella's phone to take a photo of himself, but he doesn't press enough, if any buttons to put his number in.
Audio problem: When Gabriella is singing "When There Was Me and You", when she sings the line "Like I could Sing Along", notice her mouth doesn't move.
Audio problem: During "Breaking Free" (near the end), the audio has both Gabriella and Troy singing the line "You know the world can see us," but Gabriella's mouth does not move until the word "can."
Continuity: When Troy's mom tells Troy to get ready for the party, his dad gives him the basketball. In the next shot his dad is still holding the ball.
Continuity: In the homeroom scene, Ms. Darbus says "Mr. Bolton, I see that your phone was involved so I will see you in detention." and we see a close-up of Troy with both of his hands resting on his cell phone, with one hand ready to close the phone. The camera angle zooms out, and, instead, we see one hand resting on his lap and one hand holding the phone.
Continuity: When everybody is exiting Ms. Darbus' classroom after the first day back, as Troy and Gabriella talk in the hallway, some of the same people are seen walking out of the classroom twice.
Visible crew/equipment: When "Stick to the Status Quo" is starting, the camera pans down from the balcony past Sharpay. As is goes down, you can see the camera reflected in the balcony's glass screens.
Continuity: In the song 'Breaking Free,' Troy's microphone constantly jumps from one hand to the other as the shot changes but too quickly for it to be because he moved it.
Continuity: When Troy tries to ditch Chad to go to the musical audition, he is wearing a belt (as seen when he is going down the school stairs) and white tennis shoes (as seen when he is almost caught by his dad when he rests against the side of the building). However when he makes it to the audition he is now wearing navy blue tennis shoes and no longer wearing a belt (as seen when he "volunteers" to sing with Gabriella).
Continuity: In the scene at the beginning when Troy and Gabriella sing "Start Of Something New", Troy takes the mic off the stand. Moments later, at a different angle the mic is back on, then off, then back on.
Continuity: Troy and other members of the basketball team say that the big basketball game is in 2 weeks, and the scholastic decathlon members say that their championship is in 1 week, but near the end of the movie their championships are on the same day. We know Sharpay couldn't have changed it because all she asked to be changed was the call back date.
Audio problem: In "We're All in this Together", you can hear either Troy or Gabriella's voice signing background, not matching the others' lyrics, but their lips are moving to the same words as all the others.
Visible crew/equipment: At the final callbacks, when Ms. Darbus calls Sharpay and Ryan onstage, the reflector screen is seen in her glasses.

Continuity: In the locker room, the coach's sandwich goes from his hand to the desk to his hand and switches hands a few times in this scene. It also appears to get bigger and smaller a few times.
Continuity: The post-callback basketball scene's countdown clock isn't accurate. If you try counting with it, you'll notice that it reaches 0 by the time that the ball's being passed to Troy.
Continuity: Near the end, at the end of "Breaking Free" , Gabriella has the mic in one hand, but in the next shot it's in the other hand.
Continuity: Just as Miss Darbus walks onto the stage to announce the auditions have begun, Troy quickly hides behind the curtain. However, when they cut to a farther back view, the curtains aren't moving.
Continuity: When Sharpay gets french fries dumped on her shirt, her white under shirt has nacho cheese all over it. But in the next scene when she talks to Zeke, her under shirt is clean again.
Factual error: It is New Years Eve in the opening scene. It then cuts one week later to school in Albuquerque, and there is fresh green grass, and green leafed trees, etc. But it is only the start of January.
