Continuity: On the island, when Jack says, "Yes, it does. You're sitting on it," the compass lid faces away from Elizabeth, but in the next shot as Jack shoos her away, the compass faces her; and the rope changes position too.

Quotes
Pintel: What's made this go all screwy?
Ragetti: Well, each man wants the chest for himself. Norrington, I think, is trying to regain a bit of honor; Captain Sparrow's trying to save his own skin; and Turner's trying to settle something twixt him and his twice-cursed pirate father.
Pintel: That chest must be worth a pretty penny.
Ragetti: Oh, it's a terrible temptation.
Pintel: If we was any kind of decent...we'd remove temptation from their path.
Trivia
The face of the small music box lid is seen when Will steals the key from Davy Jones. At Tia Dalma's, when Jack nicks the ring, it lies beside a necklace whose pendant face is identical to the face on Davy Jones's music box. See more...
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) - 43 minor mistakes
Directed by Gore Verbinski, starring Bill Nighy, Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom (add more)
Continuity: When everyone is fighting on Isle Cruses, Jack is standing behind Will and he hits Will in the head with an oar. In the shot right after that, Jack is no longer standing behind Will. Will is reacting to getting hit so you know it was right after, and Jack wouldn't have time to move.
Continuity: When the monkey steals the cloth with the key drawing, Jack shoots him and the monkey drops it on deck. Before Marty picks up the cloth, its position on deck differs.
Continuity: When the tribe runs after Jack Sparrow, as Jack passes the dog he says, "Good doggy," and the dog is wet, but in the very next shot the dog is noticeably more wet.
Revealing: The long bamboo pole lies directly at "Chief" Jack's back whilst he is bound by the rope. However, when Jack escapes and runs, in a few shots there is a distinct outline of an apparatus at his back - under the vest, with which the pole lies higher up, away from the actor's back.
Revealing: When the crew is first rowing up the tributary to Tia Dalma's shack while Gibbs is telling the story of Davy Jones, Ragetti (the eyeball pirate) is shifting his head back and forth, but part of the skin on his neck doesn't move with it; apparently it is some sort of prosthetic.
Continuity: After Tia Dalma hands Jack the jar of dirt, the jar is positioned differently within Jack's grasp between shots - note the lid.
Continuity: When Pintel, Ragetti and the dog are in the boat, the corner of Pintel's collar is folded up when he says, "Aint that right, poochy?" and also when the dog jumps into the water, yet, it is folded down in the other shots.
Continuity: During the dice game aboard the Flying Dutchman, when Will challenges Davy Jones, the cloth with the key drawing is folded and positioned differently between shots.
Continuity: When watching Will, Jack, and Norrington sword fight on the beach, Elizabeth's nose and cheeks are slightly sunburned. When back on the ship, they're only tanned, and no longer burned.
Continuity: At the start, when Elizabeth kneels in the rain in the background, just as Cutler Beckett's legs appear in the foreground, the floral edged row of chairs are beside her. When she drops her bouquet to run to Will, as the camera pans up the rows of chairs are farther back.
Continuity: When Jack removes the beating heart from the chest, the way the heart is positioned in his hand changes between shots - note the large arteries.
Continuity: In the scene where the crew of the Black Pearl is in the two cages climbing up the ravine wall on vines, in one shot, the smaller cage is significantly further behind the one with Will, Gibbs and the others. In the next shot, when there is the conversation about, "it would only take about six," to crew the Pearl, the smaller cage is even with the larger one.
Continuity: On the water wheel, the characteristics (such as shape and size) and position of the hole Jack created keeps changing, once Jack is free of the wheel.
Continuity: When Jack is snatched up by the water wheel, as he stands in the open grave, he gets stuck in the wood blade positioned exactly between two wheel spokes. When the key falls from his neck there is a close-up of it getting caught on the nail. In the next shot, Jack is still trapped in the wheel, only this time he is stuck in the wood blade directly beside one of the wheel spokes.
Continuity: After Jack seasons himself, in the first shot as the cannibals carry him, the rope is wound around his body and ankles, with the excess rope in between that hangs over the pole from his right to his left. When he is placed over the kindling, that rope hangs over from his left to his right. Also seen when Jack tries to blow out the flame. (This has nothing to do with camera angle.)
Continuity: After Jack jumps from the wheel via the vine, two coconuts fall at his feet. When he looks down at them, in the close-up their positions differ.
Continuity: When Jack "intuitively" inquires about Elizabeth's feelings, the dangling beads in his hair are over his dreadlocks, near his shoulder. Next close-up they're tucked under his hair. This type of thing - with all the do-dads in Jack's hair - occurs numerous times throughout the film.
Continuity: In the scene when Jack loses his hat and it drops into the water the hat sides are more curled than when Jack had the hat on his head.
Continuity: When Captain Bellamy and his sailors stand on deck, looking at the flaming Tortuga, their positions differ between the shot facing them and the next shot, from behind.
