Character mistake: In the scene where Vito is buying fruit right before he is shot if you listen closely you can hear Vito ask for 3 oranges (the subtitles say the same) but the produce seller only puts 2 in the bag.
The Godfather (1972)
1 character mistake
Directed by: Francis Ford Coppola
Starring: Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, James Caan, Marlon Brando, Richard S. Castellano
Factual error: In the scene when Michael visits his father in the hospital in 1945 there's a NYC Fire Dept. Sign on the wall with the name of the Commissioner, Robert O. Lowery, who was commissioner from 1966 to 1973.
Michael: My father is no different than any powerful man, any man with power, like a president or senator.
Kay Adams: Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don't have men killed.
Michael: Oh. Who's being naive, Kay?
Trivia: When Vito is in the garden with his grandson, he puts an orange peel in his mouth, and the kid looks scared. Well, the kid really is scared. Marlon Brando improvised that, and the kid wasn't expecting it.
Question: What is the name of the melody/song that is played just after Michael shoots Sollozzo and McCluskey? It is played while you see some newspapers with big headlines etc.
