Revealing: When Tom joins Sarah and Eliot for the kneeboarding, after Sarah apologizes for Tom's interrogation Eliot says, "It's okay, my dad would've done the same thing." Two shots later, as Tom grunts in the water, this shot is flipped - the driver is now on the left and the kids switched sides.

Continuity: During the tennis match, Jimmy's and Sarina's long shadows are to their right, yet, Tom's and Kate's short shadows are also to their right, though the couples face each other on the court.
Continuity: When Eliot and Mark run over to the golf buggy, as they talk the position of the chinstrap hanging down from Mark's hat keeps changing from hanging down / hanging over his shoulder.
Audio problem: After Tom goes kneeboarding, as he gets off the boat and walks along the deck, in the background Eliot says "I'm sure you'll do better next time, Mr. Baker," but his mouth is closed.
Continuity: Sarina's drink swaps hands as she sits down at the table on the decking.
Continuity: After Sarah tells Lorraine to leave her alone, when Lorraine walks back to the table, in the first shot Tom is turned all the way round to his right, but next shot he is turned to his left.
Continuity: After Tom reveals Sarah's interest in Eliot, when Lorraine walks by vowing never to help Sarah again, Bud holds a burger in his right hand and a plate with a hot dog on it in his left. Next shot he's eating a hot dog with his right hand, while holding a burger with his left.
Continuity: After showing Sarah with a makeover, Lorraine's shoes change from flats to heels.
Continuity: At the clambake, the waiter behind the table picks up a clamroll with his tongs. In the next shot it has vanished from the tongs.
Continuity: When the dog bounds underneath the long dining table, in following shots the remaining shattered glass and china changes position and amount, and the cloths, plates etc. all change position as they lay on the table.
Revealing: Nora's (Piper Perabo's) pregnancy suit is sometimes distinguishable due to it's different colour.
Continuity: When Anne finishes drawing her portrait of Charlie, outside near the gazebo, her pencil immediately jumps onto the table without her putting it down.
Continuity: When Nora's water breaks on the canoe, they take her to the river bank. Kate unclips her lifejacket in one shot but all the clips are done up in the next shot.
Continuity: When the Bakers and the Murtaughs are having their camp-outs by the lake, Tom suddenly has a pair of binoculars, which were not there before, so he can spy on the Murtaughs.
Continuity: When Tom reveals that Sarah likes Eliot, Kate walks over holding a platter of burgers which change between shots.
Continuity: When Bonnie Hunt is at the cutting board in the kitchen, between shots a sliced bagel moves around on a nearby plate.
Continuity: When Kate is slicing tomatoes, and is talking to Tom, she alternately holds a knife/a piece of tomato, and how far from the dicing board she holds the knife also changes.
Continuity: When Tom holds little baby Tom at the end of the movie, the blue blanket is alternately covering/uncovering baby Tom's head.
Continuity: When the baker family are at the Murtaughs' cabin, Tom Baker has wet spots on his pants, but in the next shot his pants are now dry.
Visible crew/equipment: When Sarah is fixing her hair at the car, you can see a crew member reflected on the door of the car.
Visible crew/equipment: When Kenneth and Mark are on the golf cart, you can see a crew member watching them.
Continuity: When the Baker and Murtaugh family are at the Labor Day Cup, they are in the tie breaker round in their canoes. Bud realizes that Nora's water broke, and Tom stops paddling and stands up to yell at Jimmy Murtaugh to stop. But when the shot changes to Jimmy, Tom is sitting down paddling.
Continuity: When Anne is scared by Charlie, in the gazebo, she dries herself off with a towel, throws it to the floor then she dresses, and they walk to the bench. In the next shot you can see the towel is now hanging up over the side of the gazebo.
Continuity: When the Baker family first steps from their van at the lake house, the lake surface has lots of ripples. In the next shot, with no time for the waves to have calmed, the water is now glassy smooth.
Continuity: Nora's labor starts and her water breaks in the canoe, yet when she is helped ashore minutes later her pants are completely dry.
Continuity: When Tom and Kate are looking at the photo album by the bed, at the start of the film, the pages they are looking at are inconsistent from each shot, evident by the suddenly changing photos.
Continuity: After the pitcher of orange juice is spilt all over Kate's tee-shirt, the amount of juice staining the shirt changes from when it's spilt on to when she leaves the scene.
Continuity: At the start of the Labor Day Cup competition, a sailboat docked behind Eugene Levy has a plain white sail. With no time for it to have moved, a sailboat with a multi-colored sail takes its place.
Factual error: Eugene Levy brags that one of his children was a U.S. snowboarding champion in the slope style competition. The only snowboarding events that snowboarders compete in nationally are giant slalom and half pipe.
Continuity: After Tom says he thinks Eliot is OK for Sarah, Between shots the ketchup bottle standing beside the mustard bottle vanishes then reappears.
Continuity: During the tennis match, extra tennis balls appear and disappear on the ground behind Jimmy.
Continuity: When Hillary Duff first picks up the baby in the hospital, his arms are at his side wrapped in the blanket. In the next shot, his arms are out of the blanket and by the side of his head.
Continuity: When the Bakers and the Murtaughs are having the campfire singing contest, Tom is looking across the lake at the Murtaughs and his hair is slightly messy. When he turns back to his family in the next shot, his hair is neatly combed.
