From Russia With Love (1963) - 48 mistakes

Continuity: When JB is driving the white truck and is being bombed with grenades from the helicopter the truck gets smoke blackened, but when he arrives at the speedboat all the smoke marks have gone.

Other: When James Bond's friend gets shot at the gypsy camp, look closely, he is rubbing red paint into his own arm.

Continuity: When Bond and Tatiana are in the boat chase and are being followed, they drop four cans of fuel in the sea. When Bond blows them up, there are way more than four fuel explosions in the sea.

Continuity: The train is stopped because Spectre has pushed a 1950's style Dodge truck full of flowers in the trains path. Later, when James is driving it trying to avoid the grenades dropped from a helicopter, the truck has turned into a very different looking 1961 Chevrolet truck.

Continuity: Just after Grant has hit 007 on the back of his head and knocked him out, Grant searches through the pockets of 007, he takes out some money and puts it into his lower left side pocket. But when 007 kills Grant and searches his pockets, 007 takes back the money from Grant's inside top right hand pocket.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where James Bond shoots down the helicopter then it crashes, he emerges from the rocks to run from the crash site to the right of picture, just as you see Sean Connery emerge from behind rocks from the right in the same scene. So for a about a second there are two James Bonds in picture. One is the stunt man and the other is Sean Connery.

Continuity: When Bond is being led into the Bazaar in Istanbul spot the crowd being held behind a barrier.

Continuity: When Grant hits 007 on the back of the head with his gun, he falls onto his back about six inches away from the seat, but in the next shot 007 is lying on his right side and his face is right up against the seat.

Continuity: In the gypsy camp fight, the same bad guy is first of all shot by 007 and is shot again seconds later by Karim Bey.

Continuity: When Kerim Bey is making a sniper shot towards a billboard with the rifle being steadied on Bond's shoulder, check out Bond's eyebrows - they are long in one shot, short in another....obviously painted on.

Continuity: James Bond is chased by an helicopter. When seen from above, Bond carries an attaché case in one hand; when shown from the ground, the case is in the other hand. This change happens many times, as the camera point of view switches.

Audio problem: When Klebb visits SPECTRE Island and first speaks with Morzeny, most of the conversation heard does not synch up with their lips.

Visible crew/equipment: In the boat chase, the director's waving hand can be seen reflected in the windshield of Bond's boat at several points.

Continuity: When Grant is putting something into Tatiana's drink her arms are together in her lap as she is looking out of the window, as the next shot cuts in when the waiter says "excuse me merci" Tatiana is holding a fork in her right hand.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Tatiana first meets Rosa Klebb in Istanbul, the hand of a crew member is seen closing the door behind Tatiana when she enters the room (from the other side of the door - not the side Tatiana and Rosa are on).

Revealing: During the fight on the train between Bond and Grant, you can spot the stunt double for the Grant character by noticing the bad toupee.

Continuity: When 007 pulls the gun out on Grant, watch how Grant's shadow changes position in the background in between shots, from when he says "take it easy 007" to his next line "my escape route's only for one"

Continuity: When Rosa Klebb is interviewing Tatiana, she is wearing a pair of glasses, and she makes a reference to Tatiana having had three lovers, then as Tatiana answers back, Klebb is no longer wearing the glasses.

Continuity: After the scene where Klebb arrives via helicopter on Spectre island and meets Morzeny, they enter a training area and continue their conversation while walking through it. Just after Morzeny says '.we use live targets as well,' the scene cuts to a wide shot and they are entering the same training area once again, only this time from a path that is just right next to the one used before.

Continuity: In the boat chase scene, when Bond fires the first flare he is on the right side of the boat. In the next shot(from far away) he is on the left side, and the very next close up shot he is back on the right side.

Revealing: When James Bond opens the water to take his bath, there's only water vapor coming out of the faucet.

Continuity: The ring on Blofeld's little finger switches from his left to his right hand in different shots.

Other: When Tatiana enters Bond's room, he is about to take a shower. He never goes and turns it off.

Continuity: During the fight at the gypsy camp, just before the host thanks 007 for saving his life from the gunman up above, watch the carefully at the point when he is aiming his rifle and about to shoot, while in the next shot just before 007 fires his gun, you can the gunman loading his rifle.

Continuity: When the gypsy girls start their fight they both have perfectly clean hair. A few seconds later they both have bits of straw in their hair, although neither of them has fallen onto the ground yet.

Continuity: When Bond is in the gypsy camp, the two girls Vida and Zora, who are about to fight over a man, are coming out of a caravan both wearing long skirts and scarves. When they each take their scarf to bind it around their hips, the skirts have suddenly disappeared without ever being taken off.

Other: In the title sequence, the name of actress Martine Beswick (she plays one of the gypsy fighting girls) is misspelled as Martin Beswick.

Continuity: In the scenes in which Tatiana is in the back of the flower truck and aboard the boat she is wearing a light blue top and gold skirt. Yet in the shot in which she moistens her finger and holds it up to the wind she is also wearing a vest that matches the skirt. But, the only luggage they brought on board from the truck are Bond's attache case and the Lektor.

Continuity: Q demonstrates to Bond how to properly rotate the latches on his briefcase to arm or disarm the exploding tin of talcum held inside. Q then asks Bond to open and close the latches, to be sure he knows how to do it. Bond closes the first latch without any trouble, but the second latch will not engage, and Sean Connery does his best to 'keep the scene alive' by ignoring the recalcitrant latch and tries to obscure the faulty mechanisim by casually placing his hand over the latch. As Bond turns to leave M's office with the briefcase, the latch is still open, yet as Bond reaches the doorway the scene cuts to the opposite view of the door and the latch is now securely closed.

Continuity: Bond and Tatiana break into a Russian embassy to steal the 'Lektor' decoding device. As Bond tries to close the lid on the device, the lid is not even close to being closed. Ever the great actor, Sean Connery simply tucks the still-open device under his arm and continues the scene, which is him hastily making his escape from the room with the 'Lektor'. However, the scene shows that the 'Lektor' case is now fully and correctly closed only one second later, which is impossible to do in an instant.

Other: Monty Norman's name is misspelled Monte Norman in the credits.

Other: Bond arrives in Istanbul on an International flight, but exits Istanbul Airport through the domestic terminal.

Continuity: Near the end of the fight scene with Grant, the blood on Bond's hand disappears and then reappears.

Continuity: At the end of the film when Bond is examining the film taken in the bridal suite, the film is in 8mm format but when he throws it into the Venice canal it changes to 16mm.

Audio problem: When Morzeny says "Exactly 1 minute, 52 seconds, That's excellent." in the beginning of the film, his lips never move.

Continuity: When Bond and the other board the train in Istanbul, they board the train at the rear which shows passenger coaches. When the train passes Kerim's son and does not stop at the scheduled rendezvous because Kerim has been killed, the passing rear of the train contains freight cars. When Bond and Tania escape from the train, the departing shot of the rear of the train shows passenger cars again.

Factual error: In the scene where James Bond is being given his "gadgets", Q points out that his rifle is an "AR-7 in .25 caliber". The AR-7 is a real rifle, but is only available in .22 Long Rifle caliber. Due to numerous design features, especially the screw-off barrel, it can't be made to fire a .25 caliber cartridge of any type.

Continuity: During the battle at the Gypsy camp, Kerim Bey gets shot on his arm but when Bond talks to him later, he has blood everywhere. Even if he had blood on his hands, I don't think he started to touch himself everywhere just for the fun.

Continuity: James Bond has a scar on his back, but you can't see it when he's preparing his bath.

Continuity: Just before Kerim Bey overturns the table in the beginning, at the Gypsy camp fight, two bottles are visible on the table. When he overturns the table, there's only one left.

Continuity: When Tatiana and 007 are on the speedboat, she can be seen putting a flare gun down down behind the windscreen and directly behind the small mast, but in the next shot (from behind) the flare gun has changed position, and is now to right of the small mast.

Visible crew/equipment: Just after the helicopter explodes, you can see that the landing rails have been blown off, but in the next shot, (if you pause the picture) not only are the landing rails reattached, but you can see the helicopter being lowered on a wire.

Continuity: Just before Klebb uses the knuckle duster on Grant watch carefully and you see the bag on her right shoulder is removed with her right hand, but is handed to the man behind with her left hand in between shots.

Continuity: When talking to Klebb and Kronsteen, Blofeld's ring swaps hands briefly.

Revealing: On the boat, look carefully when the man falls in the water. The man jumps to give the illusion that Bond pushed him.

Continuity: When 007 puts Tatiana into the back of the truck with the flowers, he also puts his own attache case and the lector into the back of the truck: But later, when he stops the truck and gets out, he can be seen holding part of the rifle that he will use to shoot down the helicopter, then in the next shot he is carrying the lector from the truck again.

Factual error: Near the beginning of the film, they arrive by helicopter at a training facility. There is no noise as they converse on the lawn, but they walk a few paces through a door, and there is lots of training happening with gunfire and explosions. It's all in the open air (no ceiling), so therefore would've been easily heard from the lawn, a few dozen feet away.

Continuity: In the boat chase scene, when the bullets hit the drums on the back of Bond's boat they hit the ends of the drums. In order for that to happen one of the chasing boats would have to be along side of Bonds boat. At no time are any of the chase boats shown to be that close.
