The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) - 64 mistakes

Continuity: When Boss Hogg is at the rally, he is speaking into a microphone. Between every shot of him talking, the black microphone cord is in a different position. It is very noticeable.

Visible crew/equipment: As Bo and Luke are surrounded by cops, Luke says "I never get tired of hearing him say that." As the camera pans around the front of the General Lee the camera is visible reflected on the front windshield.

Continuity: When Daisy Duke is talking to Billy about the sponsorship of his car, her hair on her left side moves between shots, from behind her shoulder to in front of her shoulder, whilst she is talking. This happens with her hair numerous times throughout the movie.

Continuity: The General had to tilt on two wheels to squeeze through the narrow opening of the barn door. When the General crashes through the back of the barn you can see that the barn door is wide open even before the police start to open it further.

Continuity: One of General Lee's wing-mirrors gets blasted off, but it reappears in a later shot. But once Bo and Luke get General Lee to be fixed, it's missing again.

Visible crew/equipment: When Bo and Luke are on their way to Atlanta, on the road people drive by them, yelling at them. As one car stops, you can clearly see a large white reflector reflected in that car's window.

Continuity: On the way to the courthouse, Bo is about to drive up a ramp that Cooter set up in front of the barricade for him. At the end of the ramp is a big strip of wood, but as Bo rides up it, the wood has vanished in order to allow him to make the jump.

Continuity: When Roscoe and the judge are in the court room and the town comes to object the strip mine ordinance, the courtroom doors are held shut by a night stick. When the townspeople start to shake the doors you can see that the night stick slides to an angle, then when they cut to a closer view the night stick is level once again.

Revealing: There is one shot of the Duke boys in their car talking to Uncle Jessie with the CB radio. You can hear Uncle Jessie respond (through the radio) while Bo/Luke still has the button on the microphone pressed. When the button on the mic is pressed, no sound comes out of a CB radio at all, as they cannot transmit and receive at the same time.

Continuity: As Boss Hogg rolls backwards over his desk as Uncle Jesse punches him; watch the items on the desk as he lands on the floor. In the next shot the items are in different positions and some items are different.

Continuity: Boss Hogg lights a cigar when he is talking to the Duke's through the prison cell bars. In one shot it is smoking heavily, but in the next shot no smoke is visible. In some shots it seems to be unlit as well, but is fully alight in other shots.

Continuity: From the first time Boss Hogg appears on screen he has a goatee beard, apart from the scene towards the end in the courthouse when Uncle Jesse punches him.

Revealing: When Bo has won the race and he is heading back into Hazzard County he drives past a carpark that has three General Lee's in it, one Rough Paint scheme and two with the proper paint scheme, as well as police cars.

Continuity: When Bo and Luke pick up the General Lee when Cooter has finished fixing it, there are shots flashing between different parts of the new General. One of the shots is of the word Charger, which is located on the headlight cover when it is closed, but in all the shots before and after the headlight cover is open.

Continuity: The Dukes are being chased through a field by countless police cars. The car is kicking up mud and dirt and getting dirty. Eventually the General nails a police car on the right front end (left side facing the film viewer). The car is catapulted up onto two wheels and the General miraculously slides through a barn. However, even more miraculous is as the General goes into the barn, the car is completely polished and shows no front end damage at all. The car leaves the barn in pristine condition.

Continuity: When the gang walk over to General Lee, Luke spots them and tells Luke to roll his window up. He rolls it up an inch before one of the gang stops him. In the next shot no window is visibly rolled up. In the next shot the inch of window is back again.

Visible crew/equipment: When the camera pans into General Lee, as the Duke's sit on the Atlanta highway, in the backseat window you can see a red camera dot panning alongside the shot.

Continuity: The arrangement of the core samples in the safe changes, just after Sheev walks away. The two samples in the bottom left move to being in the centre.

Continuity: When the campus policeman is talking to Bo through his car window, the policeman has his hands resting on the windowframe. From every shot change, the policeman’s left hand constantly disappears then reappears from the frame.

Continuity: When Luke is showing Katie the core sample in the dormitory hallway, when she hands it back to him he puts it in his bag, but in the next shot it is back out in his right hand.

Continuity: When Bo pulls General Lee up outside the University, it is parked at an angle from the curb. After they leave the university and return to the car it is parked much more straight.

Continuity: The distance between Sheev, Bo and Luke as they stand in front of the safe waiting for it to explode, and again when Luke shoots the arrow at it, keeps changing.

Continuity: After Bo has brought Billy Prickett a pint of beer, the beer glass keeps moving as evident by the handle changing its direction. Also the pint is completely full, but when Bo picks it up to drink from it (before attacking Dil) it is half full.

Continuity: When Sheriff Rosco enters the bar and the Duke boys stand in front of him, in the shot from behind Bo loosens the strap of the helmet he is wearing but does not unclip it. In the next shot it is suddenly unclipped and loose, and he then removes the helmet.

Revealing: In the beginning when General Lee approaches the pile of dirt when the road runs out, the dirt pile is small but when the shot changes to side view so you can see the car jump, the pile of dirt is now much more "ramp like".

Continuity: As Roscoe is trying to get Sheev's attention, the gummy worms in the pots, on the counter, change colour and position.

Continuity: When Luke and Uncle Jesse are in Boss Hoggs' car, in the racing scene towards the end of the movie, Jesse is just about to start lighting and throwing the jars of moonshine. Just before he does, when he takes a drink from one his right hand is holding the cap on his head and the jar is in his left, but in the next shot the jar is in his right hand and the cap is in the left.

Revealing: In the scene where the Duke Boys are driving to Atlanta to have the core samples tested, they are on the interstate and the people are commenting about the roof of the car. If you notice the Boys are higher then the passage cars, but with other shots you can see they are at the same height as the other cars on the road. Most likely this would happen with the car being filmed on a trailer going down the interstate.

Continuity: When Bo is being chased by Campus Police, he tells everyone to "Get Skinny" as he squeezes through two cars, and leaves quite a little bit of damage on each side. Yet when Bo is driving on the rally track, there's a shot from the right and no damage is visible.

Continuity: When the Duke's are in General Lee on the highway, people pass in their vehicles and shout at them. In some shots Bo has his hands on the steering wheel and in some shots they aren't.

Visible crew/equipment: After the Duke's have had their talk with Prickett, and get back in General Lee to go get Uncle Jesse, the shot stays on Prickett for a moment. If you watch in the grill of his truck, you can see the crew and a boom mike reflected in it.

Visible crew/equipment: When the Duke's are talking to Prickett and Dil in the middle of the road, Prickett has a pair of sunglasses resting up on his cap. In them, you can see crewmemebers and a boom mike reflected.

Continuity: Sheev's inner patterned jacket (under his orange bomber-jacket) changes position a few times from opened to closed, when standing around the safe.

Continuity: When the two cops are checking Daisy's car undercarriage for her, they bend down to the floor to check. However when they both stand up, they have suddenly switched places.

Continuity: In the courthouse scene, the judge's name plaque is on his left side, but seconds later it is to his right with there being no time for him to move it across.

Continuity: When Bo is talking to Laurie's father (while Laurie and Luke are in the upstairs bedroom) you see Laurie throw some clothes out onto the roof. In the very next shot the clothes are in different places.

Continuity: During the car chase through the fields with Bo being chased by the police, the sky keeps changing from light blue to very dark blue, to even a light orange in some shots.

Continuity: When we hear a gunshot and Luke rolls out of the upstairs window onto the roof, the whole upper house is bathed in sunlight, then is instantly in complete shade.

Continuity: The plastic explosives molded onto the safe that the Duke's and Sheev are going to blow open keeps moving (note the strips in the center of the safe door.)

Continuity: When Billy Prickett walks into the back garage to find Sheriff Rosco and Boss Hogg, there is a car beisde them with a white sheet over it. During shots, the large creases in this white sheet keep changing.

Continuity: When Luke is trying to pull the safe free from behind the telephone pole, watch the chain that the safe is attached to. It keeps changing from being on the left side of the pole, to the right side and back again.

Continuity: When Luke and Bo are being chased in the beginning of the movie, a huge bullet hole is made in the left side of General Lee. Moments later it has vanished.

Continuity: When Bo is talking to Billy Prickett in the bar, Dil walks up behind Billy and rests his hands on his shoulders. In the next shot he has vanished and then is suddenly back again, with his arms back on Billy's shoulders.

Visible crew/equipment: After escaping (with Daisy's help) from the back of the cruiser, as they are being chased, the sun casts a shadow of the camera and equipment can be seen on Bo's shirt as they "drift" through the first circle. This is before the big drift scene when Bo keeps driving around and around the circle.

Continuity: After the boys run five miles to the Boar's Nest, the sweat stains on Bo's blue t-shirt starts disappearing and reappearing. When Bo gives a beer to Billy Prickett, his shirt is dry in one shot, and then again has a wet sweat stain in the next. The shirt goes through other various stages of sweatiness throughout the Boar's Nest scene.

Continuity: Sheev breaks down the courtroom doors, causing the sides of the doors to get splintered down the sides. Yet in the next wideshot as everyone enters the courtroom, the sides of the doors show no damage.

Continuity: As Luke drives along and Billy is driving alongside, ramming Luke's car, in one shot the metal framing on the front of Luke's car falls down diagonally, yet in the next shot it's back up straight and fixed.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene when the boys are about to enter the trailer to steal the safe, you can see the shadow of a man on the fence in the background, just as they enter the door.

Continuity: When Cooter drives up to the police blockade with the flatbed extension, there is a wall of metal at the front of the "ramp" (the end closest to the cab). However, this soon changes to just a flat surface when it's the POV of the ramp from the car's perspective.

Continuity: After the black soot splurts all over Bo and Luke, the amount on their shirts and faces differs through the scene.

Visible crew/equipment: When the campus police pull the Duke's over, in the shot of the police walking over to their car you can see the camera shadow on General Lee, just ahead of the policeman.

Continuity: During the rally race, Bo is driving down the forest lane and before catching up with Billy Prickett, he passes a green rally car - twice. Also, after he passes it the second time, it vanishes from the road completely.

Continuity: When the police cars pull up outside Cooters, just as the Duke's drive out with the fixed General Lee, the position of the police cars keep changing (note it's position in relation with the parking markings.)

Continuity: The rally race reporter has a microphone with a label around it sporting the channel logo. However moments later in the courthouse scene, the channel logo on the microphone he holds is completely different.

Revealing: When Bo lands General Lee on the highway after going up the ramp, in one frontal shot you can see the front left wheel of the car come apart completely and break its suspension. But the car is unaffected and continues to drive.

Revealing: When Uncle Jesse punches Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds) it is clearly not his, but a stuntman, in the shot from behind as he rolls back over his desk.

Continuity: When Boss Hogg is cooking in the bar, the ingredients on the side and on the chopping board change position, most noticeable is the onion.

Visible crew/equipment: Whenever Luke wears his sunglasses, but most noticeably in the opening car chase, stage lights are reflected in them.

Continuity: When Rosco arrives at Cooter's to pick up the General Lee he arrives with a tow truck. However, when Bo and Luke drive the General Lee out of Cooter's the tow truck that arrived with Rosco is gone.

Continuity: When Bo lands General Lee on the highway after going up the ramp, the cars around him on the highway change and move between shots. Also when the shot changes General Lee suddenly moves from the outside land to the middle lane.

Continuity: When Cooter (the engineer) goes over to his desk to make a phonecall, after Sheriff Rosco has left, the items on the desk completely change their position between shots.

Continuity: After the opening car chase, when General Lee is trapped between two vehicles, Bo hoists himself out the window, then Luke does the same after. But in the next exterior shot, they both are hoisting themselves out at the same time.

Continuity: While being chased by the police, Luke Duke grabs an arrow with an explosive tip and swings himself out the window to take a shot. He doesn't have a bow when he starts out the window, but he does when he is sitting fully on the window.

Visible crew/equipment: When Bo and Luke drive the General Lee out of Cooters after he has fixed him, there is a reflection of the camera crew on the side of the General as they are drifting sideways in slow motion.
