The Island (2005)
Plot summary
Directed by: Michael Bay
Starring: Ewan McGregor, Sean Bean, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, Michael Clarke Duncan, Djimon Hounsou
Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewan McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid 21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the "The Island" - reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie. He and all of the other inhabitants of the facility are actually human clones. Lincoln makes a daring escape with a beautiful fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Scarlett Johansson). Relentlessly pursued by the forces of the sinister institute that once housed them, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a race for their lives to literally meet their makers and stop the sinister plan going on at the facility.
Lincoln Six Echo: My name is Lincoln Six Echo and I'm your insurance policy.
Trivia: Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson) sees a poster ad and commercial for Calvin Klein featuring her sponsor "Sarah Jordan". They are really things Scarlett did for CK before she made the movie.
Question: What happens to all the clones at the end? Do they live? Do the sponsors get their money back? Does the government kill them all?

Answer: We saw them set free, so assume beyond that what you will. If we apply current reality to it, we can guess the sponsors lost their money, as the venture was entirely illegal to start with. The government would gain nothing killing them, so they likely would issue new Social Security numbers to them and start collecting taxes ASAP. If you must have a definitive answer to 'what happened next', you can always wait for a sequel.
