Entry What is the name of the song played when the boat leaves Lagos, and is cruising up the Niger River? ["Here We Go!" by Clint Mansell. It is on the Sahara soundtrack.]
Entry What type of boat is depicted in the Niger river scene? [The one used by Dirk was a Hunton 43 - designed by Jeff Hunton and costing about $300,000 US.]
Entry What exactly is Kazim attempting to gain/accomplish by killing the doctors? [So they will not discover the poisonining that is going on.]
Entry In the Panama scene, what do the boys mean by "thought they were in Panama"? [They thought they were in the country "Panama" but they were, in fact, not.]
Entry What is a "Panama" from the boat explosion scene? ["Panama" is their nickname for the escape tactic employed which caused the boat to explode. As they said in the movie, it is so named because the first time they tried this stunt they thought they were in Panama.]
Entry In the scene where the three main characters are in the Texas and are being bombarded , Dirk claims that the plates are 2 feet thick. They then discover the use of armor-piercing shells. Does he mean 2 inches? I believe the boat would sink if they were indeed 2 feet thick. [While Dirk seems to be exaggerating slightly, there were certainly many classes of WWI and WWII battleships that had armor in excess of 18" thick in places. They floated just fine - in fact, they were notoriously difficult to sink.]
