Constantine (2005) - 64 mistakes

Continuity: When Constantine manage to get the mirror through the window he falls on his back. To the right on the screen a chair lies on the floor beside a dresser. A few shots later when it cuts to Constantine getting up we can see the chair has changed position as its back now covers the opening of the dresser.

Continuity: Constantine catches a spider under a glass and blows some smoke in it. The amount of smoke in the glass differs between shots.

Continuity: When the mirror has been brought and Constantine tells them to tie the cord to it we can see one of them tying it. When Constantine says "Close your eyes" it cuts and we can see the man has suddenly stopped tying the cord and is now holding onto the mirror.

Continuity: When Constantine gives Baltazar the final punch you can see Baltazar's tie lying on his chest. When it cuts from behind him his tie is over his shoulder. In the next shot it's back on his chest.

Revealing: When the Priest dies in the liquor store, there is an overhead shot of the 4 or 5 police cars that respond to the scene. Two of the cars have the same number on them.

Factual error: When Angela is watching the security video on her laptop of her sister committing suicide, you can see she's playing it using Quicktime. She rewinds a couple of seconds by clicking on the first button of the video player. Actually, when you click this button, it takes you to the beginning of the video. The second button would have rewound it a short time.

Continuity: In the pool when Constantine grabs the possessed Angela, he grabs her by her head with both hands. When it cuts he's holding onto her shoulders.

Continuity: When Chas is in his car talking to his mirror you see him holding his right hand on the steering wheel. When Constantine calls for him it cuts and you see Chas resting his arm on the seat beside him instead.

Continuity: In the scene where John commits suicide by slitting his wrist, the soles of his shoes go from brand new and unmarked (quite clearly seen in a couple of close up shots) to scuffed and worn (also seen quite well in a couple of shots).

Continuity: When Constantine is preaching over the possessed girl it cuts to a close-up of the chubby Thai man, we can see the man standing beside him has his head turned to right. His head change from being turned to right to left between the shots.

Continuity: When Constantine gives Angela Isabel's name tag, Angela is holding the tag so that half the tag is between her fingers and the rest of the half inside her hand. When it cuts half the tag is still between her fingers but the rest of the half is now outside her fist.

Continuity: When Lucifer lights Constantine's smoke he has his left arm down, then he closes the Zippo and it cuts. Now his left arm is up.

Continuity: When Father Hennessy stabs himself with the cork opener the items around him change position between the shots.

Continuity: When the Mexican picks up the Spear of Destiny, his grip on it changes between the shots.

Continuity: When Constantine pulls the rope attached to the mirror the distance between his hands on the rope change several times between the shots.

Continuity: There is a close up shot, when John slits his wrist, of the blood seeping around his watch. It is an integral part of the scene, yet moments later, when viewed from above, the blood is nowhere near the watch.

Continuity: When Constantine gets thrown into the glass paned door at the end just before he slashes his wrists, every time it cuts to the scene showing the door the broken glass left in the door is always in a different pattern.

Revealing: When Chas is being thrown up and down between the ceiling and the floor, if you look closely as Chas is falling from the ceiling to the floor and goes up again, when he goes up it's just a rewind of him falling down.

Continuity: During the exorcism scene Constantine says "I need a mirror, now. At least 3 feet high.", while holding his left arm down. When it cuts to him shouting "Move." his left arm is up.

Continuity: When Constantine tells Angela to leave the room you can see the cat sits on his lap with its back against the camera. When it cuts the cat is now facing forward.

Continuity: When we see Chas in his car the first time he lifts his right arm to adjust the mirror. When it cuts you can see he is adjusting it with his left hand.

Continuity: When Chas is being thrown up and down between the floor and the ceiling he lands and breaks some bricks on the floor. The damage on the bricks change between the shots.

Continuity: When they are luring the demon into the mirror they have tied a chord to it. When the mirror come flying out the window we can still see the chord tied to it. But when it cuts to the mirror falling down hitting the car the chord is gone. And don't tell me the chord just went off, because it was tied quite well.

Continuity: When Midnite is about to make a prayer for Constantine he holds his hands up. He only points with two fingers with his right hand. But when it cuts all his fingers are stretched out.

Continuity: When Constantine submerges Angela in to the tub he pulls up his right arm from her head. When it cuts to a shot under water he pulls up his arm again.

Continuity: When Constantine is having his chat with Gabriel, after he asks what 'He' wants from him, and Gabriel says "Only the usual. Self-sacrifice. Belief.", it cuts and we see Gabriel resting her hands on her lap. When it cuts her left hand is on her knee.

Continuity: When Constantine and Chas gets in to the car and Chas is angry about Constantine dropping a mirror on his car, Chas has his hands down. When it cuts his left hand rests on the steering wheel.

Continuity: In the beginning when the woman takes the pot out of the oven and is about to pour the hot water into the cup, she places her left hand on the table beside the cup. When it cuts to a close-up her hand is gone.

Continuity: In the beginning when the woman is about to pour hot water in to her cup we can see a spoon on the tray. When it cuts the spoon has changed position, and also a piece of paper has appeared on the tray.

Revealing: What are the odds for twins to have birth marks on the exact same places? When Isabel commits suicide and lands in to the pool you can see she has the exact same birth marks as Angela to the right above her lips and on her left neck.

Continuity: In the end when Constantine slits his wrists there is a shot where you see the pools of blood from his wrists. The scene changes for a few minutes and there is another shot where the blood is visible and the pools are smaller than before. If anything they should have been bigger.

Continuity: In the X-ray room when Constantine has lowered his cigarette he is standing next to Les and walks away. Their conversation goes on for a couple of shots and then suddenly he is standing right next to Les again and walks away.

Factual error: After John traveled to hell using Duck the cat, he and Angela are going to eat something and John tells about his suicide attempt. In this flashback, you see them using a defibrillator to shock him back to life. When he is shocked, people are touching his body, but they don't get shocked.

Continuity: When Constantine is seeing the doctor about his cancer you can see the lights on the screen showing the X-rays are on. When it cuts after she says "This is aggressive", the lights are suddenly off.

Continuity: At the end (after the credits), when Constantine place the lighter on Chas' grave, Constantine's fingers on the lighter change position in the close-up view.

Deliberate "mistake": When Constantine and Angela are driving while talking to Beeman, as Beeman says "But that doesn't mean that we don't have faith in you", the lights in the car suddenly go off. Revealed by the DVD commentary, it is the cinematographer's lights going off by mistake.

Continuity: When Constantine is heading for Midnite's office, he stops by his door. A man opens the door and walks out passing Constantine. At that time you can see the background is full of people. When it cuts to Constantine walking in the door the background has changed, the people are gone and a blue wall has appeared instead.

Continuity: After Constantine has thrown the holy water at Baltazar you can see Baltazar stretching out both hands to grab Constantine. When it cuts, Baltazar grabs Constantine by his throat with only one hand .

Continuity: When Constantine gets the cigarette box he slides it across the table. Later there is a close-up of the cigarette box and we can see it has moved closer to the edge of the table.

Continuity: When Constantine places the medallion on the possessed girl's head she starts screaming and waving her hands. When it cuts to a close-up of her we can see her hand is still. In the next shot she waves her hands again.

Continuity: When Constantine is looking at the X-rays of his lungs he says "And now I'm gonna be done in by this." and lowers his hand. When it cuts he does the same.

Continuity: In the beginning when the Mexican's foot goes through the planks under the sand, a lot of dust comes up. When it cuts from within the hole we can see through it and the amount of dust has decreased.

Continuity: In the beginning before Constantine gets out of the taxi, he drops a cigarette out of the window. The size of the cigarette differs between the shots.

Continuity: When the Mexican is about to get up he holds onto the Spear of Destiny with both hands. When it cuts it's in his right hand only.

Continuity: When Constantine has a sip from his cough medicine, we see the Vermin Man approaching him in the background. A few shots later we see the Vermin Man is still approaching him but he is still moving in the same spot as earlier.

Continuity: When Angela walks out of the confession box she grabs her necklace cross and holds it. When it cuts from behind her, both her hands are down.

Deliberate "mistake": When Constantine comes out of the library after speaking with Gabriel, he stands beside Angela and none of them cast any noticeable shadows on the door and walls behind them. When it cuts to a shot above them, shadows are more being cast behind them. This is probably because of different light settings on the set.

Continuity: When Constantine and Chas comes to Midnite's bar and the bouncer holds up the card, we see him holding the card between his thumb, index finger and middle finger. When it cuts, he holds it between his thumb and index finger only.

Continuity: When Angela visits Constantine you can see an ash tray and two bottles along with other stuff on Constantine's table. Later, when the demons fly outside Constantine's window, as the camera moves over the table you can see all items has suddenly been removed from the table.

Continuity: When Angela is standing in front of the elevator and Constantine asks her what's wrong his hand is not on her shoulder. When it cuts his hand is on her shoulder right before she gets dragged through the wall.

Continuity: When Constantine and Chas are heading for Midnite's the first time and Constantine says "You're reading too much, kid. It's a bar", you see Constantine walking with his hands down. When it cuts, he's holding his cigarette to his mouth.

Continuity: When the Mexican steps his foot through the planks making the hole in the ground, we can see from inside the hole that he is standing directly above it. When it cuts we get a close-up view of the hole outside but the Mexican isn't above it, he is moving closer to it.

Continuity: When the Mexican walks away his friends talks to him while crouching. When it cuts we see his friend in the background but now he is on his knees.

Continuity: At the end of the film when Lucifer has ripped open Constantine's shirt and removed tar, immediately after when he goes back to Angela, the shirt is suddenly done up again.

Continuity: When the demon manages to break through the mirror it's stuck in, its hand comes through the mirror. When it cuts its hand is nowhere in sight.

Continuity: When Constantine knocks out the bouncer at Midnite's the bouncer's arms change position between shots.

Continuity: When the possessed girl talks to Constantine she has a big lump of hair on her forehead. When it cuts there is no trace of hair on her forehead.

Continuity: When Constantine approaches the apartments where the possessed girl is, he meets a woman holding a man while walking in front of him. When it cuts the woman is still holding the man, but now she is behind him.

Revealing: When it's raining a lot and John is taking a cough suppressant, he sees some kind of bird fly by and looks up. There's a shot of his face from above and the rain is falling around him but not on his face.

Continuity: When the Mexican wraps up the Spear of Destiny he places the Nazi flag with the swastika pointing up. A couple of shots later when the Mexican turns around, the flag is folded in a different way and the Swastika is not visible.

Continuity: When the demon climbs out of the possessed and gets stuck in the mirror we see the reflection of the girl in the mirror and she is smiling with her eyes closed. When it cuts to a close-up of her she is smiling with her eyes open. It cuts again and we see in the mirror she is smiling with her eyes shut.

Continuity: When the Mexican is reaching down the hole for The Spear of Destiny we can see him turning his head to the side. When it cuts he is looking down the hole. Also when he reach his hand down his arm goes between a broken plank and the edge of the hole. When it cuts his arm has moved over the broken plank.

Continuity: Near the end when Constantine is on the floor with Gabriel on top of him. There is a shot from the side rotated by 90 degrees so they appear to be upright. There are several things on both Gabriel wrists which look like hospital ID tags. One of them on her left side has slipped down her wrist on to her hand. The shot switches to looking over Gabriel's shoulder and the tag is now back on her wrist and the writing has rotated. Switch back to a side shot and it's back to the original position.

Deliberate "mistake": When Constantine and Angel are walking to her car the power shuts down turning off all the lights in the street. Then it cuts to inside her car where you can see the lights inside the car is on. When it cuts to outside the car the lights are off.
