Continuity: Rachel prepares some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then brings them into the lounge. She then takes a bite out of it. Then, when she takes the second bite, then first bite she took has gone.

Trivia
Daveigh Chase declined to appear in the sequel because of the small amount of screentime. She appears in the movie via archive footage from the first movie, and her stunt double from the first movie, Kelly Stables, plays evil Samara in this movie. See more...
The Ring Two (2005) - 38 mistakes
Directed by Hideo Nakata, starring David Dorfman, Elizabeth Perkins, Gary Cole, Kelly Stables, Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, Sissy Spacek (add more)
Continuity: When Rachel goes in to Max's bathroom, all the water falls down from the ceiling drenching everything, but then Max comes in, and takes a dry brown towel off the rail to wrap around Aidan. Also, the white towels behind them are bone dry too.
Audio problem: When the deer are all grunting at Rachel and Aidan, the whistle of an elk can be heard despite the fact there are no elk in the scene.
Visible crew/equipment: When Rachel starts to climb out of the well water onto the well wall, in the closeup of her left side as she lifts herself out of the water, a long white cord/wire hangs straight down her left side from her shirt to her pants.
Continuity: When Rachel has the dream of Aidan telling her to kill him, there is a shot where Rachel looks as if she is about to stroke his face, and the next shot her hand is not on Aidan.
Continuity: Near the beginning, Hayden is sitting at the desk in his room and his shirt collar is wide open. His neck shows, but that's it. A moment later, when he leaves his room, and comes into the Kitchen, he wears a light grey t-shirt under the other shirt.
Continuity: When Rachel takes her first bite from the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, in the wideshot she is chewing her bite. Then it cuts to the closeup of her, the food is suddenly gone from her mouth.
Continuity: When Rachel is in the basement looking through the book and sees the newspaper article, if you pause the film when the article appears close up, you can read some of the article. This article has nothing to do with the title and photo caption above it, about the young girl in the bathtub, it appears to be about something political. The filmmakers assumed the article would flash by too fast for the viewer to read.
Continuity: When Rachel falls down into the well, she has her arms up on the wall and on her right hand there appears to be a leaf or large insect or some kind. The shot changes several times, and the object keeps disappearing and reappearing.
Continuity: As Rachel is preparing the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, she
places the knife on top of the open PB jar in a closeup, yet in the
very next shot the knife has disappeared, the reappears again.
Continuity: As Rachel is trying to get Aidan to get in the bath at Max's house,
she removes the blue towel from him and throws it on the towel-
rack. Then during the rest of the bathroom scene, everytime we
see the blue towel in shot it is in a different position each time.
Continuity: When Rachel is trying to get Emily to speak to her at the police
station, near the end of her attempt the shots alternate from
closeups to wider views. In the closeups, Emily's hair is very
messy and tangled but in wider views it is much neater and
straightened.
Continuity: After Rachel pulls Aidan out of the bath near the end (before she face Samara) as she tries to wake him up, in one shot she places her hand on his face and shouts his name. In the next shot her hand is now on his neck.
Continuity: When Rachel begins to brake her car after seeing the deer on the
road, as the shots keep changing the markings on the road also
keep changing. In overhead shots the markings are a single
broken yellow line, but in closeups of the wheels, the markings
are solid double yellow lines.
Visible crew/equipment: In the shot of Rachel driving up the street with Aidan just before
they arrive at their new house, the car breaks right in front of the
camera for a few seconds. In this shot you can clearly see the
camera reflected in the left corner of the car.
Continuity: When Rachel pulls up to the old Morgan house she parks her vehicle on the gravel drive, angled into some tall grass. Yet when she leaves the house with the book, the vehicle is now parked halfway on the main road and is no longer angled (but is now much straighter) and is not facing any tall grass.
Continuity: When Rachel is talking to Aidan at dinner, the position of her hair
changes a few times and then in one shot she pushes her hair
behind her right ear, yet in the next shot her hair is pushed behind
her left ear instead.
Visible crew/equipment: When Rachel pulls up to the crime scene where Jake was killed,
as she gets out of the car you can see a grid of set lights reflected
in the car window door.
Continuity: Rachel climbs into the ambulance so that she can witness Jake's
dead body. When she unzips the bodybag, his face is angled
toward her (laying to his left.) In the next shot his face is facing
straight up to the ceiling.
Continuity: When Rachel is working in her office and Max comes in to talk to
her, during the scene the direction that the coffee mugs handle
faces (on Rachel's desk) keeps changing.
Continuity: At the beginning of the movie when Jake sits down next to Emily
with a bottle of drink and two empty glasses, after he sets them
down on the table the two glasses are suddenly filled with drink,
instantly between shots.
Continuity: When Rachel is tucking Aidan into the bed at Max's house she puts
a red blanket on him and then a brown blanket on top. Then
during the next shots the red blanket goes from slightly visible to
completely covered by the brown one and back again to being
slightly visible.
Revealing: When Hayden is talking to the Psychiatrist in the Hospital, he is wearing some type of white powder face makeup to make him appear more "ghostly". This makeup was only applied to his face. Whenever they show a side shot of his face and neck during this scene, you can see the demarcation (line) of where the white powder face makeup ends and his natural darker tan neck begins.
Continuity: When Rachel is placing Aidan into the bathtub slowly in order to try and rid Samara from his body, as she places him in the water, how deeply she has him in the water keeps differing from each shot.
Continuity: When Rachel finds Aidan standing at his bedroom wall and the
image of a tree begins to burn in the wallpaper, she runs over and
tries to pull him away. As she does this, the globe sitting on the
desk beside them rotates itself between shots.
Continuity: When Jake enters the living room to bring the drinks to Emily, the
magazine and remote sitting on top of the two books moves
between shots.
Continuity: When Aidan is in the bathroom at the fair, he turns a faucet and
then he walks across and turns another. After turning the second
one, the faucet changes position from the wide view to the
closeup, evident by the ridges on it.
Audio problem: In the flashback when Evelyn is walking into the small water
fountain with baby Samara, the baby is heard screaming and
crying unhappily. Yet when we see the baby's face her mouth is
barely open and she doesn't look like she's crying.
Continuity: When Rachel is talking to Aidan at her Daily Astorian office, when
she asks him if he knows why Samara is back, she puts her hand
on his face. In the very next shot it's down in her lap.
Continuity: When Rachel is burning the videotape in the canister out in the
field, she throws the tape on the fire with all of the reel pulled out
and sitting on top of the case. In the next shot the reel is no
longer visible on top of the video.
Continuity: After Aidan comes downstairs and sits at the table for dinner, he is
flicking through his photography folder. In the shot when Rachel
walks away from him and goes back to the oven, there is no plate
at Aidan's placemat, yet it is there in every other shot before and
after. His drink also moves without him touching it.
Continuity: When Rachel sits next to Aidan as he is in the hospital bed
unconcious, as the shots change, the amount and position of the
wires next to his head (to his right) keeps on changing.
Factual error: The Daily Astorian office where Rachel works has the Columbia River in the background, however the real Daily Astorian office is located well off the waterfront.
Continuity: When Rachel is trying to get into the girl's house, she isn't wearing gloves, but when she is flipping over the rocks she is.
Continuity: During the scene where Rachel puts Aidan into the bathtub at Max's house, he is wearing very light white boxer underwear as he is being put into the water. A little while later when Rachel pulls Aidan out of the bathwater, he is suddenly wearing very dark blue/navy colored boxers. Although water would darken the color somewhat, this is far too dramatic a change to be natural. The lighter color couldn't have possibly darkened to that extent. They are two different pairs of boxers.
Continuity: When Aidan is in the hospital, Rachel talks to him. When the camera zooms in, you can see the nasal cannula is hanging half out of his nose, but when we see the whole picture it's fully in his nose. When the camera zooms in again, it sticks out again.
Factual error: There are several problems in the hospital scene where the psychiatrist commits suicide by giving herself an air embolism (injecting air into a vein): the volume of air she injected wasn't large enough to cause death (it appears she used about 30Ml, over 100Ml would be needed), death wouldn't be as quick as was portrayed, and it wouldn't be nearly as "peaceful".
Continuity: When the deer attack the car, the first deer hits the car, and he shatters the driver's side window. In the next cut, you can see Rachel's reflection in the recently shattered window.
