Continuity: After Violet has managed to hit the track shifter with the elf tied on the rope, they begin pulling the rope. It cuts to a shot where we can see the entire rope attached to the shifter with a knot tied in the middle of the rope. When the camera zooms in on the train, in the shot before Count Olaf begin to laugh, the rope is visible and stretched out but the knot is gone.

Continuity: When the Baudelaires and Aunt Josephine are on their way from Curdled Cave, Klaus holds up the paper drawing of the Eye. He then folds it when Josephine says they all were investigating the fires. When it cuts, he folds the paper again.

Continuity: While the Baudelaire orphans are trapped in the car, Violet makes the elf head spring forward to catch the track switcher. When she makes her successful attempt, the rope wraps around the handle only once, and the rope does not have the momentum to swing around again. But in the shot as the handle is getting pulled, the rope is wrapped around twice, and moved over a little bit.

Continuity: When the two ladies are done singing before the play the carpet on the stage is open wide. When it cuts to a close-up of Klaus looking around you can see in the background that the carpet is closed.

Continuity: After Aunt Josephine tells how Ike died she starts crying and reaches her arms out at Violet. When it cuts she does the same again.

Continuity: Watch the window switches in Count Olaf's 1960 Imperial when the orphans are on the train tracks. When Violet is speaking to Mr Poe on the car phone, the driver's side door appears to have 6 switches in a row (not completely discernible). This means the vent windows on the front doors are power operated (adding 2 switches to the usual 4, with no power lock switch). However the front passenger's side door vent has a manual latch (not used with power vents) which Violet breaks to open the window, and only one switch instead of the two needed for the main glass and vent. And as the train is passing by them, there is a shot of Klaus and Violet in the front seat, and then a lower shot of Sunny clapping her hands. Between these two shots the one switch on the passenger door becomes a set of 2. Several Imperials must have been used for filming.

Continuity: When the crowd is approaching Count Olaf after the marriage certificate is burnt and Olaf says "Not to mention, setting a terrible example to the children", the character played by Cedric the Entertainer is walking among the crowd. When it cuts, Cedric suddenly cuffs Olaf. How did he get on stage that quickly?

Continuity: When Violet tells Klaus to give her the fire extinguisher, it cuts to him saying "Why?" while holding his hand on Sunny's shoulder. When it cuts back to Violet, you can see in the background that his hand is resting down by her arm.

Continuity: When Uncle Monty is telling about the Incredible Deadly Viper and he says "My assistant Gustav and I may be the only people who ever seen it", as he stops by the cage he has his hands up. When it cuts his arms are hanging down.

Continuity: When Aunt Josephine gives the casket to Klaus and tells them to finish the shopping, one of the handles on the casket falls under the roots of the vegetables while the other handle rests on the roots. Two shots later both handles rest on the roots.

Deliberate "mistake": In the shot where the camera zooms in on the car, after they realise they are standing on a train track, it is obvious that the car would be hit by the train even if they managed to change tracks. The car's hood is parked right above the other track.

Continuity: When the Baudelaires realise they are stuck in the car Violet jumps over the seat in to the front seat. Two shots later, outside in front of the car, we can see her coming over the seat again.

Continuity: When Olaf suddenly stops his car when he is going to buy the Baudelaires some treats, it cuts to the back seat where Violet and Klaus bend forward as if it was a sudden hard stop. However Sunny is sitting completely still as if she isn't moved by the sudden stop at all.

Continuity: When the Baudelaires walk in to their burnt house while Lemony is narrating and says "But we all discovered that the blaze was started from a great distance", Klaus walks right behind Violet and Sunny. When it cuts Klaus has moved to the side of them.

Continuity: When Violet pours the spaghetti out of the spittoon over the strainer, all of it goes out of the spittoon and nothing is left. When it cuts, a spaghetti strand hangs over the spittoon's edge.

Continuity: In the beginning, when the camera zooms out of the picture of the burned house, we can see Lemony holding the picture with both hands. When it cuts he's holding it with one hand.

Continuity: When Poe is about to leave after dropping the kids off at Olaf's, Olaf asks if he wants to stay for a glass of port while gesturing his arm down. When it cuts his arm is up by Poe's chest.

Continuity: When the Baudelaires walks out of the burned house Mr. Poe is waiting for them and you can see some fire hoses behind his car. The position of the hoses changes in the distance shot.

Continuity: When Count Olaf enters with his acting troupe, Klaus and Violet are rubbing the floor and Olaf says "Imagine my surprise." Violet places her left hand on her lap. When it cuts she place her hand on her lap again.

Continuity: After the stove disconnects, right before the phone handle is shown fall off, we can see the handle has already fallen off.
