The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie (2004) - 30 mistakes

Revealing: When SpongeBob is telling King Neptune how much of a jerk Mr. Krabs is, when SpongeBob says, "I am 100 percent man," he leans back and you can see his hat is just floating there.

Continuity: The swirls on the lollipop drunk SpongeBob is holding drastically change between shots.

Continuity: After SpongeBob and Patrick bust out of the Krusty Krab, it cuts to inside the KK. You can see there's no one at the door, but Plankton appears mid-shot when he opens the door.

Continuity: When SpongeBob is in King Neptune's hands, you can see there are many people in the Krusty Krab. But when Neptune throws SpongeBob on the ground, nearly everyone vanishes.

Continuity: When SpongeBob is "drunk" at Goofy Goober's, after the waiter tells him to scoop up his friend, SpongeBob falls flat on his face. In the close up of him, some green ice cream suddenly appears.

Continuity: In SpongeBob's dream, the Krabby Patty moves all around the table several times. First it's in the center, then near the edge, and then near SpongeBob.

Continuity: When SpongeBob is first shown crying at the Nut Bar, you can only see one row of chairs. When SpongeBob gets up to leave, there is now a corner and another row.

Continuity: There are bottles next to the chairs at the gas station, but they vanish when the taller guy says, "You two dipsticks ain't gonna last ten seconds over the county line!"

Continuity: Spongebob puts his shirt/shorts clothing on after his dream, and he is wearing underwear. Then, in front of the mirror, when the back of the shorts falls down, it shows his rear end with no underwear.

Continuity: When Mr. Krabs is set on fire he runs past once with his clothes, then he runs past in his underwear, then he runs past naked, and jumps into a barrel of water. His clothes are back on.

Continuity: The glasses and wig on the "ice-cream lady" in the big red monsters mouth fall off in one shot, but they're back on a few shots later.

Continuity: The "Galley Grub" sign in Krusty Krab 2 moves from above the door with a porthole in it, to next to the door with the anchor painted on it, and then totally disappears later.

Continuity: Spongebob steps on Plankton, then wipes his shoe, leaving a big green smear on the road. In the following shot it's gone.

Continuity: When Spongebob and Patrick approach the county line, they meet the two laughing fish; one is short and fat, one tall, thin and has two patches on his knees. These patches disappear in one shot; when the short fat one is bouncing on the other one's stomach and they're both laughing.

Continuity: In the scene where Mindy is showing Spongebob and Patrick "Planktopolis," it shows a large fully-built statue of Plankton. A few seconds later the right side of the head is shown missing and still being worked on.

Continuity: When the Goofy Goober Peanut starts singing to the kids, he has a lollypop in his hand, but when the pointing hand comes out of his stomach it is gone, and in the next shot it's back.

Other: At the beginning, the pirates find about five tickets in the treasure chest - nowhere near enough to admit all the pirates into the theater.

Continuity: After Spongebob and Patrick receive their "seaweed mustaches" they jump off the edge of the trench. When they figure out that they just jumped off the edge they look down, and directly below, the trench wall is visible with nothing on it. Yet, when they are about to hit the ground there is a branch.

Continuity: When Spongebob runs through the skulls to get to the Free Ice Cream Booth, a skull and bones fly out and land in front of the Patty Wagon. Two shots later though, they're gone.

Continuity: In the courtroom scene with King Neptune, Misty’s gold band keep disappearing and reappearing.

Continuity: When we first see Dennis there is writing on his boot but in the next shot it has vanished.

Continuity: In the Goofy Goober Nut Bar, the pictures hanging on the wall behind Spongebob change in every shot.

Other: When Spongebob says to Mr.Krabs "Your life is in our hands", Patrick appears out of nowhere - he was sleeping at the Goofy Goober ice-cream party boat.

Continuity: In many shots, the wooden stairs leading down the trench are not there.

Continuity: In the scene where Neptune originally enters the Krusty Krab 2, if you look out the window the original Krusty Krab isn't there. It also isn't there when he says "Have this pole executed." (outside the Krusty Krab 2)

Continuity: The paddywagon has pickles for wheels but when they pull up to the gas station, they are just regular green wheels.

Continuity: In the live-action pirate beginning, between a wideshot and closeup, the sky changes from grey/overcast to bright blue with fluffy white clouds.

Continuity: When Spongebob and Patrick go to the bar on the way to Shell City, there is a hole in one of the wooden saloon doors which switches to being in the other saloon door when they sneak out.

Continuity: The distance between the two Krusty Krab restaurants keeps changing throughout the movie.

Continuity: When Spongebob wakes up the morning after his ice cream antics at Goofy Goober, there is a table and two chairs by the stage which disappear.
