The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie (2004) - 16 corrections

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click "make changes" when viewing mistakes, and click "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry During the Goofy Goober Rock song, we see Patrick with long legs, high heels, and fishnet stockings. In the next scene, Patrick screams "Woo." and his legs are normal. However, after King Neptune asks where Spongebob is and Patrick goes to untie him, the fishnet stockings and high heels are back on. [It is like a 'one time joke' continued. Rather than it being a constant thing, even throughout one scene, it is more funny and startling to see it once- during the song- and then for Patrick to go back to normal because it's not a joke anymore, then going back to 'cross dressing' because it's funny to see it outside of the song- that's the joke. That's why it isn't constant- therefore, not a mistake.]
Entry In the scene where Spongebob frees everyone from mindcontrol, Gary is the last one to be freed as seen on the smile on Spongebob's face. Why then, are there still mindcontrolled sea creatures around Sandy, Mrs Puff etc.? [Gary wasn't the last to be freed, Neptune was. We can hear at least one beam freeing another fish between Gary and Neptune being freed.]
Entry Stay right until the end of the credits to see a cool clip involving Pirates and an Usherette. [While this scene is indeed present, it is NOT an Easter egg. It has always been there, even at the cinema. An Easter egg is something unique to a DVD that usually needs to be hunted for and found. This doesn't qualify.]
Entry After Spongebob has his dream and mentions to Gary about how he is going to get the promotion for manager, he mentions having 374 consecutive employee of the month awards. That would mean working for the Krusty Krab for more than 31 years which Spongebob has not. [It's just for comedy effect, and to exaggerate that SpongeBob is the best worker at the Krusty Krab.]
Entry When the bartender tells Spongebob to leave, he mentions that it is 8 'o clock. When the shot changes over to Mr. Krabbs, he sees Neptune and notes that it is lunchtime. [We don't know how much time passed between the two scenes. In theory, SpongeBob is so dazed from the ice cream that it does indeed take him about four hours to get to the Krusty Krab and talk to King Neptune about Mr. Krabs.]
Entry When Plankton has dominated Bikini Bottom, near the end, he's looking into a binoculars. In the other side you can see that two eyes are looking into the binoculars. But this is impossible, because Plankton has only 1 eye. [The binoculars are simply doing what binoculars do; that is, showing the same image twice in two separate lenses.]
Entry At the very end of the film, after Squidward gives SpongeBob the manager badge, SpongeBob tells him "I was going to tell you that your fly's down", despite the fact that Squidward wears no pants, and thus has no fly. [It's just supposed to be a joke, like the many other impossibilities in this movie.]
Entry When SpongeBob goes at the beginning of the movie to the Krusty Krab 2, is morning, and he doesn't stay too long. When Mr. Krabbs says that he's too kid for the job, it's getting dark. The night came too fast. [We actually don't know how much he stays. He maybe stayed all day, so that's why it's getting dark when he leaves, and then it shows the night after Patrick arrives.]
Entry When Spongebob and Patrick take off in the paddywagon, there are two things not right. Firstly, if they travelled down numerous elevator shafts, when the garage door opens to let them out, it is directly on ground floor of the Krusty Krab, and also, if the garage door was in the position that it was, that would mean the door and the garage would be in the eating section, so they would not need to travel down the poles and the elevator. [We don't know if the elevator goes down or up. If we want this to make sense, we asume that the elevator goes up. First, they go down, and they enter the elevator, that goes up. The garage now it's near the eating section, so it makes sense why the car leaves the Krusty Krab exiting by there.]
Entry Near the beginning of the film Spongebob goes to the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krab tells Spongebob that when the customer took a bite of the hamburger there was no cheese. But when Spongebob is examining the hamburger, there is no bite mark in any part of the sandwich. [Later we discover that it's a dream, so it doesn't have to make sense.]
Entry Before SpongeBob and Patrick receive their "mustaches", Patrick wears some ridiculous underwear. After, when they're singing "Now that we're men", Patrick shows his underwear and now it's normal. It's impossible he changed because he had no time and he didn't have this underwear to put on during the trip to Shell city. [This was symbolic to show that he is now a "man." He is no longer a kid, so he doesn't wear kid underwear.]
Entry When Plankton gets stomped on by all the fish in the end, he has little shoe marks all over himself. The fish weren't wearing shoes. [Some of the fish actually WERE wearing shoes, most noticeably the fish that says "Hey look, it's the wizard who saved us.". It's true that not all of them are wearing shoes, but some are if you look closely.]
Entry Near the end of the film, the King chains up the doors of the Krusty Krab to keep his daughter from getting inside and distracting him any further. Later on, though, the chains have disappeared and the daughter is able to walk straight into the Krab without any trouble at all. [The locks were burned off by the fire that King Neptune tries to zap Krabs with. SpongeBob, Patrick and Krabs didn't get burned because they were behind the crown, which reflected the flame. (Most of the mistakes listed here are just cartoony errors - like this one.).]
Entry In the scene where David Hasselhoff is putting Spongebob and Patrick in his chest, what is he standing on? It is impossible to stand on water as he did in the scene. [Its impossible to swim as fast as a speedboat as he does in this scene or move that fast without moving your arms or legs but the part with David Hasselhoff was not exactly following the laws of physics.] Corrected by Lummie
Entry If You've ever watched the TV series of SpongeBob, you will know that he dries up and almost dies every time he is out of water for a few minutes. Yet in the movie, SpongeBob and Patrick are on the beach chatting with David Hasselhoff and nothing happens to him. [Not quite right. In the episode Pressure, Spongebob and the gang take on a bet to go onto the surface for at least a minute. They get onto the land for over a minute and Spongebob never comes close to drying up.] Corrected by Lummie
Entry How come in the King's throne room the people there don't react to the king's baldness, but in the Krusty Krab 2, they react greatly? [Before speaking with Mindy, Neptune ordered the room cleared. There would be no one there to react to his baldness in the first place.]
