Team America: World Police (2004) - 7 questions
Directed by Trey Parker, starring Matt Stone, Trey Parker (add more)
The "questions" section is for any random questions that occurred to you while watching this film, or anything you didn't entirely understand, and which Google or the IMDb can't help with. Submit them as a question, and hopefully someone will answer (the bold comments in brackets) - check back regularly. If the answer is wrong, or missing information, please use the "clarify answer" option. Don't feel limited - want to know what music played in a certain scene? Whether this was the first film to use a certain effect? Here's the place to ask!
In which part(s) of the movie is the Kill Bill music (battle without honour or humanity) played? [Without giving a timecode, I can tell you that it's during the third act, when Team America has already been freed from their prison cells (in North Korea), and are fighting through the F.A.G. defenses.]
What political party do Matt and Trey affiliate themselves with, and is it known who they supported in the '04 election?? [When asked about what group they associated themselves with they replied, "I think we're like most people, just down the middle with our personal political affiliation". As for the '04 election I don't believe they supported either publically.]
I know that the musical being called 'Lease' is a reference to 'Rent', but what's the joke behind the song being called 'Everyone has AIDS'? [The musical "Rent" is based on the opera "La Boheme" in which the main character Mimi dies of consumption (tuberculosis). In the updated story for "Rent", the disease is AIDS rather than TB. Several characters in Rent have AIDS or are HIV positive.]
Does anyone know what the joke is about Matt Damon always calling out his name? Is it supposed to be a reference to something? [I read an interview with Trey Parker and Matt Stone where they said that they had not intended for it to be that way but that when they made the Matt Damon puppet, it looked so retarded that they thought it would be funny to just have him be retarded in the movie and only say his name. They said it was nothing personal against Matt Damon.]
