Directed by Brad Bird, starring Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson (add more)
Genres: Animation, Action, Adventure, Family, Sci-fi, Thriller
Continuity: When Helen and Vi are talking at the dinner table, Vi's fork changes position a few times between shots.
Continuity: After Bob gets back home from "re-living the glory days", you can see a barbecue in the back yard and it is on the cement deck. But at the end of the scene, when the camera shows an aerial view of the house, the barbecue is on the grass.
Continuity: When Lucius is putting aftershave on in front of the mirror, he hears the robot outside and runs to the window, leaving the bottle of aftershave on the desk with the lid off. He returns to open the drawer and the lid is back on.
Deliberate "mistake": During the chase scene at the beginning of the movie, Bob pulls up a map of where he is as opposed to the cop car and the getaway car. The computer then plots a merge pursuit course as being an immediate right, followed by a left turn and two more right turns. The car converts, then is shown taking an immediate left, then a right turn, a mirror image of what the map displays.
Revealing: After Helen finds the hair on Bob's suit, she goes to him while he is in the car and says," Have a great trip. I love you, so much.", Bob backs the car out of the driveway. He backs out and turns, but you can see his hand on the top of the steering wheel doesn't move.
Factual error: When the plane is attacked by missiles, Helen punches a button on the cockpit console and a screen lights up that says "chaff". The next shot shows the rear of the plane with several burning items coming from it that are supposed to be chaff. However, chaff containers burst open into thousands of radar-reflective strips that are meant to confuse radar-guided missiles (see real chaff in the movie Air Force One). What actually comes out are flares that burn extremely hot to confuse heat-seeking missiles. While it might be suggested that we just never see the containers burst open, later in the missile chase we see the exact same items in view for a much longer time and they never burst open.
Deliberate "mistake": Right after Mr. Incredible first lands on the island to find the Omnidroid, he starts to stretch and the camera angle changes, showing us his fat stomach that sticks out of his shirt. During the rest of the movie the suit is a one-piece, so this wouldn't be possible.
Continuity: When Mr. I and Frozone are in the jewelry store, and Frozone goes to the water cooler to get a drink, you can see the handle is in a vertical position. When he has finished and leaves it, the handle stays in a horizontal position.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible saves the man that jumped from the building, their position changes between shots when they breaks the window. From behind, the man is bent over Mr. Incredible's shoulders but in the next shot, he's on his chest. The second shot happens at the same time, so it's impossible for them to be in two different positions.
Continuity: The "Denied" word stamped by Mr. Incredible on the paper moves from the center of the sheet to the top, close to the logo.
Continuity: In the beginning of the movie when Mr. Incredible sees the police chase, he checks his watch and says "Yeah, I've got time". Then he has the car put his super suit on. When he sits up and raises his hands to have his gloves put on, his watch is gone. Later, after getting the cat out of the tree, he pulls up his glove to check the time and his watch is back.
Continuity: When Dash and Violet wake up on the island, there's a section of rock wall right behind them. The bird asks for ID, Dash wakes Violet up to show her, and she steps forward. The camera switches positions a few times, then the kids turn around and run for it. Before they turn, the rock wall is on the left and there's a clearing to the right- but the complete 180 they make doesn't warrant enough space for them to go around the rock wall- actually, when they turn to run the rock wall is not only farther away from them, it's already behind them.
Continuity: When the Parrs are having dinner and when Frozone stops by Dash spits water and Frozone freezes it. In the shot after he catches the ice, the ice disappears.
Continuity: After the bomb explodes on the tramway track, Mr. Incredible is further away from the broken part when he stands up. It is most noticeable by the broken rails at his left.
Continuity: In the Parrs' house, right outside the kitchen is the garage (you can see this numerous time throughout the movie). But when Bob comes back late Wednesday night, and when Helen is giving Jack-Jack a bath, when you look out the window, the garage is not there. All you can see is the sky. You should be able to see the garage directly outside the kitchen door.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible opens the window of the RV when the family are flying to the city to save it, you can see lots of paperwork flying about the cabin and exiting the now-open window. However, when the camera does the outside shot of the RV in flight, there's no paper.
Continuity: In the scene where Bob and Helen are arguing after the rescue, when Helen says "Tell me you haven't been listening to police scanners again?", she puts her hand on her head. In the next shot, her arm is down by her side.
Continuity: When Helen and Edna go into her lab and sit down at the "viewing" table, E sets the pitcher down on her side of the table. A couple of shots later the pitcher is on Helen's side of the table. Also, when the table moved back really fast, the items on the table would become misplaced, but they remained stationary.
Other: When Edna agrees to create a new super-suit for Mr. Incredible, she states that Stratogale and Thunderhead were active in the late 50's. In addition, fifteen years after the supers are banned, on the day Dash is sent to the principal's office, the newspaper Bob is reading has a date of 1960-something. However, while Bob is considering Mirage's offer and the camera pans the wall of his achievements, a date on a newspaper says 2000-something.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible stops the train the light from the trains brightly shines on Mr. Incredible, but when the lights and headlights go out, the light that is on Mr. Incredible doesn't disappear.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible and Mirage are having dinner next to the wall of fire, the long shot shows them at opposite ends of a very long table. All of the following close up shots of Mirage, shown over Mr. Incredible's shoulder, show them as being much closer together, at a much smaller table.
Continuity: In the dinner scene, when Dash is running around the room smacking Violet on the back of the head, there are two water jugs that are there in closeups of Vi, but disappear in shots of Dash running.
Continuity: When Helen is floating in the ocean, her hair got wet and it straightened out. When she was in the shape of the boat, and after they got to land, her hair was in the regular style; both the water and the strong wind would have caused her hair to be messed up.
Continuity: In the scene where Bob and Frozone get caught in the jewelry store a police officer sees them and comes in, but the police car he is in is on the left and he comes in from the right.
Continuity: In the scene where Mr. Incredible first discovers Syndrome's computer room, he starts to walk towards it. He is about a 1/3 of the way when the shot angle changes. When it does, Mr. Incredible is suddenly now much closer to the computer chair to sit in. He didn't have the time to move.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible is chasing robbers in his super car and the old woman is trying to get her cat to come down from the tree, she sees him coming quite near and runs out onto the road to flag him down. Cut to inside the car, and the old woman is much further up the road than in the previous shot otherwise he wouldn't have had time to stop.
Continuity: When Mr. Incredible lands on the railway and it explodes, the rubble and debris that falls disappears and reappears between shots. Furthermore, when he stands up to stop the train, the aerial view shows cars driving along the street as if nothing ever fell. With the amount of rubble falling, it should be visible on the street and have caused some traffic problems.
Deliberate "mistake": In the Spanish version, the headlines of the newspapers are in Spanish, but the rest of the articles are in English. It helps supports the narration, but it causes a very weird effect.
Deliberate "mistake": In the scene where Helen snags a ride on one of the rail cars (grabs it with her hands then does her Tarzan imitation), one of the support beams for the track magically disappears to give her more space to grab the car. The camera doesn't cut, or even change position- it just pans, all in one shot. When she looks forward at the track, there's one beam a short distance in front of her, and one beyond that. She turns to see a rail car approaching, and when the camera pans back to see her grab the car, the distance to the next support beam has been doubled- the first beam disappeared.
Continuity: When Bob is in his cubicle before Mr. Huff shows, the pencil holder is on the left side of the desk, next to the computer. When Bob jumps up, but before the pencil holder's knocked down, it's in the middle of the desk. Then when he picks it up it's closer to the phone, but still in the middle of the desk. As Mr. Huff turns to leave, it's still there. But when the camera cuts to an overhead shot, the pencil holder's jumped to the opposite side of the phone, perched on the edge of the desk, where it falls to the floor.
Continuity: The objects on the table keeps changing place while Bob is taking notes of Mirage's message. The most noticeable is the piece of paper with a "i" on it.
Continuity: In the pursuit at the beginning of the movie, you can see on the navigation screen that Mr. Incredible has passed Adeline St. When he's going to place his supersuit, he looks at the screen and he hasn't passed this street yet.
Continuity: When Helen opens the luggage on the airplane, the zipper's handle keeps switching side.
Other: Near the end of the film when Jack-Jack is manifesting various abilities, his first display is of the human-torch-type of superpower. This would have burned away all of his clothing, yet (for obvious reasons) his diaper remains intact. This is particularly apparent as designer Edna Mode's costume for Jack-Jack was earlier shown as fire-resistant, but he was not dressed in his outfit during this scene.
Continuity: In the scene where Hugh is coming into Bob's office, you can see, as he is coming in, that the glass separating Mr. Incredible's cubicle from the hallway has two seperate openings. This is visible both immediately before and immediately after Mr. Hugh walks through the doorway. In all other shots, however, The glass is one continuous pane.
Continuity: When at the end, the Robot-Thing is walking past Frozone's apartment and he is putting on the aftershave, he turns around looking for his Super Suit and the aftershave bottle turns around when he turns around.
Continuity: When Frozone picks up Mr. Incredible to "go bowling", the green glass lying on the table on the left hand side of Violet keeps swapping sides between one shot and the other - sometimes its open end faces Dash, and sometimes it faces the entrance door.
Continuity: Watch the street during the sequence where the railway explodes, starting when Mr. Incredible falls until the moment he stops the train: The number of cars parked on the street magically changes (a lot) between shots.
Continuity: In the dinner table scene, when the family "cleans up" in order to answer the door, Dash's hair is all frizzled and standing up from running around and fighting with Violet. When Lucius shows up, Dash spits some water into the air for Lucius to freeze. Dash then says, "Aww, I like it when it shatters." In that one quick cut, Dash's hair is all neat, almost no hairs frizzled. In all subsequent shots of Dash, his hair's all frizzled again.
Continuity: When Elastigirl, Dash, and Violet are in the jet outrunning the missiles, the ocean is very rough. This can be seen when Elastigirl boosts and hits a large wave when she is trying to gain altitude. But, when they are in the water after the missiles have hit them, the water is very calm.
Continuity: When Bob stands up in the jewelry store, he is right next to a jewel display. When the alarm rings, he's almost two meters away from it. He didn't have the time to move.
Continuity: When Helen is going to place the supersuits in her luggage, there is a few centimeters between the one that she grabs and the others but they are much closer in the next shot.
Other: When Helen is packing for the trip to find Bob, she is holding a outfit on a hanger. Watch how the coat moves when she slides it across the bed. Friction should cause the bottom of the coat to drag across the bed and while the top moves forward. Instead the bottom looks almost like something was pulling it ahead of the top. It give it a very unnatural look.
Continuity: In the scene with Dash and Elastigirl in the principal's office, Dash's shirt keeps changing between shots. First it has a strange "X"-shaped fold on it, then it changes to relatively smooth, then BACK to the "X", and so on.
Continuity: When the train is going to hit Mr. Incredible, he turns his head but he's looking straight forward in the following shot.
