Trivia: When the film was released, critics and moviegoers had a difficult time appreciating it. Some say that the film was ahead of its time and too surreal for most people. It was not until the late 1960s that "Fantasia" received the respect and appreciation it deserved.

Trivia: In the original version of the film (the one submitted to the board for its rating determination) contained several scenes of exposed female breasts. The female centaurs were all completely nude from the waist up. After Disney was told the film would not receive a "G" rating as it was, they went through and literally drew the leis right over the centaurs' breasts.

Trivia: Mickey is the Sorceror's Apprentice to the Sorceror Yensid. The Sorceror's name is Disney spelled backwards.

Continuity mistake: When Mickey walks down the stairs from the fountain, he walks down twelve steps. Later, when he tries in vain to stop the enchanted broom from coming down these stairs, there are at least fifteen steps.
