The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1990) - 32 mistakes

Visible crew/equipment: When the last monster sinks into the ground a black mat covering the hole in the ground is visible.

Visible crew/equipment: When Nimbly is flying closer to Xayide's wagon you see the wires pulling him up.

Revealing: When all the egg warriors are splitting you can see the eggs are cracked even before they split.

Audio problem: When Bastian puts Auryn under his shirt, there's a "bling" sound like Auryn hits another piece of metal, like a medallion or necklace. However Bastian isn't wearing any other metal.

Revealing: Every time there is a wide shot of the dragon flying it never flaps its wings. But when there is a close up, it is flapping its wings.

Visible crew/equipment: When Nimbly takes off and flies onto Xayide's wagon, the wires pulling him up are visible.

Audio problem: When Nibbley says "oh yes, explain it" to Tri Face, his beak doesn't move.

Continuity: When Bastian is holding the toast up in the air you first see a piece of tomato sliding out and falling down. When it cuts you see a tomato and some salad falling down. Then again when it cuts and the pieces falls to the floor the tomato is suddenly sliced and you see some pickles.

Other: When Bastian and Atreyu gets to Xayide's castle, laser beams are are searching the ground for the intruders. Right before Bastian gets hit by the laser we see him running for Atreyu. Then we see light (obviously from a spotlight) being switched on and hitting the rock which Bastian jumps on. However we see the light from the spotlight move out of position as if the person controlling the spotlight thinks that Bastian will run further off the rock. When it cuts the light is back on Bastian and the rock.

Revealing: When Tri Face switches his face we see that the scene is suddenly cut from a doll to a human as his collar changes during the shot.

Revealing: Right after Atreyu discovers that Xayide is stealing Bastian's memories we see Atreyu and Falcor sitting on a cliff with an entire landscape in the background. It is easy to see the whole thing is fake, cause the camping place which they sit on shimmer and moves. The camping scene has been shot earlier and is now placed on a fake background, and someone is adjusting the picture.

Revealing: When the red laser is beaming Bastian we can sometimes see that the beams aren't even touching Bastian.

Continuity: When Bastian stands in front of the monster spraying it in the face with a spray can, you see Bastian stretching as far as he can, but he still can't reach any further up than the monster's chest. When it cuts, Bastian's hand is in the monster's face.

Revealing: Right after Xayide dies we see a shot of two monsters. One of the monsters explodes and the particles from the explosion hit the other monster making it break in half before it explodes itself.

Continuity: When Bastian and Atreyu are sitting by the fireplace you see Atreyu put his arrow to the ground. When it cuts to a closeup he has the arrow in his hand again.

Deliberate "mistake": When Bastian comes running up the stairs by the harbour, you can see a black couple on the right. The woman is wearing a grey coat with a black vest and a white shirt. The man is wearing a black coat, black shoes and white socks. When it cuts to Bastian running across the street, you can see the exact same couple wearing the exact same clothing crossing the street, but this time they are not walking together. The extras were used twice.

Revealing: When one of the monsters shoots out of the floor, it comes through what seems to be a square plate covering the hole under it. It is visible because the plate gets pushed up and we can see the edges of it.

Revealing: When Bastian dives, you can actually see that it is a grown up stunt double.

Revealing: When Xayide and the monster are sinking to the ground it is obvious the scene is being played backwards as the last monster has leaves falling up from the ground onto it.

Continuity: When Bastian grabs the roll of paper he pulls some paper over the kitchen bench. When it cuts, the paper is rolled back.

Continuity: When Bastian gets into Koreander's book store you can see a stack of books lying next to a huge book. Later when we see the stack with the 'Neverending story' book on top, the formation of the stack has changed.

Revealing: When Atreyu lies dead, right before Bastian awakens him, you can see his neck pulsate.

Revealing: When the dragon is flying by the castle, the castle is shooting a laser at it as it flies by. Then the dragon explodes just as it flies out of camera angle. However it is that the explosion comes from the ground down by the edge of the castle, and not in the air where the dragon is flying.

Revealing: When Falkor is talking with Atreyu and says "Bastian is losing himself with every wish," you can see that Falkor hasn't got any body.

Continuity: When Bastian and Falcor fly out the gates of The Silver City, the gate closes in the same position three times.

Continuity: When Atreyu and Bastian is sitting by the fire you see Atreyu holding an arrow in his left hand when he is getting up. When it cuts the arrow is in his right hand.

Continuity: When one of the monsters comes up from the ground it is coming up right in front of Bastian. When it cuts, there are suddenly two monsters in front of Bastian, and the hole in the ground the monster came up from is gone.

Revealing: When the ground around the empress' castle is tearing apart you can see a tree falling down. However you can also see the wire pulling it down.

Continuity: When Bastian stabs the toast and lifts it up you can see a big chunk of meat hanging out of the toast. When it cuts to a closeup of the toast the chunk is gone.

Continuity: When Bastian is lying in his bed, he is looking at a picture which stands at the edge of his night table. When it cuts the picture has moved in on the table.

Visible crew/equipment: When Nimbly lands on the ship, the wires that is holding him are visible.

Continuity: When Bastian pushes the monster down the hole, you see Bastian hitting the monster with his right arm stretched out. When it cuts, Bastian hits the monster with his right shoulder. Best seen in slow motion.
