Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Factual error: When any character's automatic pistol runs out of bullets, the slide doesn't lock open. All the weapons shown are of a type which should.

Grumpy Scot

Factual error: The sniper on the roof who is casually picking off zombies hand loads his rifle after every shot. The rifle he is using is the AWP Magnum which has a spring loaded 10 round clip and a breach that cannot be hand-fed ammunition. (00:36:30)

Suggested correction: Ammo can be manually loaded, it's inefficient but not impossible.

Factual error: When the nemesis creature fires a rocket-propelled grenade down the laundry chute/garbage chute at Alice, she protects herself from the blast by a plastic cart. When Alice tips the cart it warps and bends, and even more obviously when Alice leans on the side. There is no way this would have worked, the plastic cart would have been destroyed along with her.

Factual error: In the cemetery scene about 1/4 through the movie, you see a corpse with meal worms eating its head. It's a cemetery, not a bait shop. What, is the corpse a fisherman? I am pretty sure you would never see this in real life. Meal worms eat mostly bran, fruit and vegetables and fish eat them. Worms and maggots yeah, but not mealies.

Revealing mistake: Nearly at the end, the scientists find Alice's body at the waterfall, one of the men lifts up the cloth to take a look at her face. Her face is badly burned on one side and she is pronounced dead. However, take a look at the left side of her neck, you can see her either gulp or take in a quick breath of air. (01:19:05)

Trivia: The method by which Alice disposes of the zombie dogs (by throwing a flaming object into a gas filled kitchen) is similar to one of the numerous ways Jill Valentine defeats Nemesis in 'Resident Evil 3'.

More trivia for Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Question: How does Jill find out about the T-virus and its effects? I don't think they ever explained it in the movie.

Answer: The newspaper clippings we see in her apartment at the start refer to a 'mansion incident' - this in fact relates to the events of the first Resident Evil game, when Jill and other STARS members were trapped in a mansion overrun with the T-Virus. By the end of the game Jill knows exaclty what the T-Virus is and what its effects are.

Even though it mentions it in the newspaper clippings in the movie she wasn't even at the Mansion so therefore she wouldn't have known about the t-virus in the movie.

She was at the mansion prior to the events of Apocalypse, and one of the first ones to know about the virus before it hit Raccoon City.
