Supergirl (1984) - 54 mistakes
starring Faye Dunaway, Mia Farrow, Peter O'Toole (add more)
Revealing: When Supergirl flies through the window to fight the invisible monster, half of the screen shows her jumping in a school uniform and the other half exiting with the Supergirl outfit. Watch closely and you'll notice that her halves don't match, giving the sense that she is missing part of her body.
Continuity: When Supergirl crushes the rock, her hair is curly and messy. In the following shot it's brushed and straight.
Continuity: At the beginning of the movie, Selena drives her car to the right side of the house. When the shot changes, the car is several feet further back and is now heading across the front of the entrance.
Continuity: When the vortex breaks the window, the sound of glass breaking is heard but no glass pieces are seen. In a later shot, the floor is filled with tiny pieces of glass.
Revealing: When Supergirl is passing by the town, flying towards the mountain, she flies very close to the ground but no one looks at her.
Visible crew/equipment: When Selena visits the school, there's a tube reflected on her window. When her car starts to move we see it's part of an umbrella-like structure used for lighting.
Continuity: After the red haired girl and her friend let go off the monkey wrench, they start jumping and end up close to a steel tank. In the following angle they've moved six feet back.
Revealing: When Selena breaks the brick wall, the concrete holding it flutters, revealing it's a mere brown piece of fabric.
Revealing: When Supergirl flies out to fight the invisible monster, the shadow of the crane lifting her is reflected on the building.
Revealing: When the invisible monster crushes Supergirl against a steel door, she flies to fight him and the wires holding her are visible.
Continuity: After Lucy leaves out for the weekend, while Supergirl is sitting on the grass, the people standing by the red car behind disappear between one shot and the other.
Continuity: After the window gets fixed, the position of the cushions around the window differs between shots.
Continuity: When Supergirl wakes up and sees her bracelet on the floor, in the first shot it is further away from the join between two floor tiles than it is in the second shot.
Revealing: After Supergirl lands on Earth, she flies very close to a lake, but she doesn't have a reflection in the water.
Revealing: When Supergirl flies towards the mountain and passes by the town close to the pavement, she casts no shadow.
Continuity: When Selena holds on to the fridge door an American flag appears and disappears between shots.
Continuity: When Supergirl and the principal enter the girls' dorm, the jogger girl turns around to run away twice.
Revealing: When Supergirl is flying at super speed, the cars from the green-screen movie are also sped up.
Revealing: When Supergirl falls on the planet ground and gets released from the mirror trap, she gets up and the hard floor stretches down, revealing it's a rubber mat to soften her fall.
Revealing: When Supergirl is writing her letter of recommendation at super speed, it's way too obvious that the scene's been speeded up in several takes because the leaves in the background move fast and in a very weird and unnatural way.
Continuity: While Selena is burning the chicken, in the close up shot big flames come out, but a split second later, from a different angle, there's just smoke.
Continuity: At Selena's picnic, the label of the champagne keeps turning to face the camera.
Continuity: When at home, Selena says that the world is at her wish and looks down at the bronze sculpture which she is holding close to her chin. In the following angle her hand swaps to stomach level.
Continuity: Supergirl's bracelet swaps wrists while she's flying at night.
Continuity: When Selena is holding the glass champagne and says "I can't wait 'till the world is mine", from a back shot her finger is below liquid level, in the following shot it is above it.
Revealing: When Selena uses her magical powers to accelerate the fairground ride to superfast speed, the twinkling fairground lights in the background are also flashing much faster. They obviously played the tape back at high speed to achieve this.
Visible crew/equipment: When Supergirl first starts "flying", her movements easily reveal the use of wires to give the effect.
Continuity: In the girls' dorm, when Supergirl is trying the bra on, the teddy bear in the back changes position between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: During the tractor scene, a wiggling boom mike is reflected on the bar's mirror.
Continuity: When the redhead girl and her friend fall on the girl's bathroom, watch the girl on the far left. First she is holding a multicoloured towel with circles drawn on; a split second later the circles are there but the towel is white.
Continuity: Supergirl crushes a rock and gets dirt all over the sleeve of her suit. A second later dirt is gone and the suit is clean.
Continuity: At Selena's party, while Nigel is talking to the blonde girl, the green straw in his cocktail moves around between shots.
Continuity: At the end, when Ethan is saying goodbye, in the wide shot there's barely no one behind the red car on the left. In the close shot a lot of people appear.
Revealing: When the invisible monsters throws Supergirl against the street light, the place she falls looks uneven with the rest of the lawn, and is filled with chunks of grass to hide the landing mat. In a wider shot all this atrezzo disappears.
Continuity: When Selena makes a toast with Ethan, from the front the logo and name of the beer is visible, in the following shot it's not.
Continuity: When Ethan falls unconscious on the couch, his arm is close to his face. In the following shot it has moved down.
Continuity: When the truck crushes the red car, the woman with the trolley makes a right to protect herself. When the angle changes she repeats the previous movement.
Continuity: When Ethan enters Selena's house, Selena opens the fridge. Her position behind the door changes from being in the middle to the right of it between shots.
Continuity: When Supergirl visits the principal's office, he is holding the glass down, close to the medicine bottle. When the angle changes, the glass is up without him having raised it.
Continuity: When Supergirl wakes up in the woods, the baseball's stitches face different sides depending on the angle.
Continuity: Selena starts to say that everything is history and turns around to say the world is hers. Right then, angle changes and cupboards appear on the right from nowhere. When the angle changes, the cupboards disappear.
Continuity: When Supergirl enters her dorm, the Cornflakes box changes position from standing upright to sideways.
Continuity: In the castle, when Supergirl asks Selena for the Omegaheadron, Selena turns to her left and opens her eyes widely. In the following shot she repeats the same movement and expression.
Continuity: The mirror in the castle changes to transparent glass when Supergirl flies through it. After the vortex swallows Selena and Bianca, it turns back into a mirror.
Continuity: Selena says "Bad luck" and places her hand on the fridge door. In the next shot, only the tips of her fingers are on it.
Continuity: After her fight with the invisible monster, Supergirl walks by the broken steel door she fell against, and it looks more crumpled and worn out than before.
Continuity: Selena parks her car close to the entrance, but in the next shot the car has moved 12 feet to the right.
Continuity: Inside the girl's bathroom, when the red haired girl comes running in with her friend, watch the towel in the back: In one shot it's laying messy on the sink, and a second later it's neatly folded.
Continuity: Supergirl lands the colliding car in a shadowy place but a couple seconds later the shadow is completely gone.

Continuity: Selena's friend places the bottle of milk on the center of the burning chicken to extinguish it. When the angle changes the bottle is on the left side of the chicken.
Deliberate "mistake": For dramatic purposes, when the film ends, Supergirl leaves a cloudy trace while she flies. No trace was seen during her previous flights.
Revealing: When Supergirl finds Ethan tied up alone in the mountain; at the moment where Selena magically pops out of nowhere, Ethan's head brusquely moves to the right, revealing where the scene was cut and pasted to put Selena in.
