Mistake Continuity: When Ron throws the burrito at the biker, you can see from the shot in the car that it falls to the ground. After it falls, the biker swivels for a while, and then slides down the street, however, in the shot of him once he stopped, the burrito was in front of him.

Mistake Continuity: After Ron throws the burrito at the biker the exterior shot of the car shows he is in the middle of the three lanes. When it cuts to his reaction shot you can see he is now in the left lane. After showing the biker in agony we see Ron getting out of his car in the middle lane.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the brawl, you can see that Brian falls down as the rest of the crew runs forward. In the next shot he is right there with them pointing his gun at other groups.

Mistake Continuity: Before the big brawl between the rival news crews there are a number of shots where the sun is nearly setting and a second or so later will be right back up. The most notable one is just after Ben Stiller's Spanish language crew arrive there is an aerial shot with the sun very bright. In the next shot of Tim Robbins the shadow has become much more noticeable.

Mistake Revealing: During the scene where Ron is playing the jazz flute, as he blows the flame out of the flute, you can see a hose running from out of his sleeve and into the flute, most likely supplying gas for the flame. In both shots of the flame, the hose can be seen.

Mistake Continuity: In the huge street brawl scene, all of the news teams are in a circle, preparing to do battle. Tim Robbins can be seen tapping his pipe on his weapon, emptying out the tobacco. Later, after he chops off Luke Wilson's arm, he takes a long drag on his pipe.

Mistake Continuity: Right before the brawl, Brian pulls out a pistol which he also has right when the brawl begins. However, in the very next shot someone is swining a weapon down at him and he's holding nunchucks (play it on slow and you can see it's him).

Mistake Continuity: Right after Ron throws Veronica over the desk after she makes fun of his hair, she jumps on his back, and pins him to the floor. In the first shot of the floor, a purse is seen on Ron's right, but the in the next shot of the floor (where she picks up the mace) the purse is on his left.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene when Ron invites Veronica to the "gun show", after he has counted over 1000, he goes to put his shirt on. He reaches into the armhole and then it switches to a shot of Veronica and then back to Ron. In the next shot of Ron, he is reaching into the armhole again.

Mistake Continuity: At the bear scene, Frank Vitchard is using the wrong station's microphone. He works for Channel 2 (the third place station), but is using a microphone from KQHS-Channel 9, the second place station anchored by Vince Vaughn's character, Wes Mantooth.

Mistake Factual error: During the opening montage when the news chopper is flying over San Diego, several buildings that were built after 1980 are visible.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron and his men meets up with Wes Mantooth and his men, Ron and his men's shadow is being cast on their sides. When it cuts their shadows are cast behind them.

Mistake Continuity: When Veronica decides to sabotage Ron's sign off, she alters the end of his news script. The text just above the sign off is a story about a car. Yet during the broadcast, they are discussing a different story before the sign off.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron comes home after the party in the beginning, you see him about to put his coat on the chair. The following shot shows the dog standing up on the chair and the coat is already lying on the back of the chair without him putting it down.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene on the bridge with the burrito, the opening shot shows two cars behind Ron, but in all of the shots afterwards the cars are gone.

Mistake Continuity: Toward the end, the Public TV News Anchor (Tim Robbins) pushes Veronica in the bear pit. In the next shot, a bear is hibernating in the same exact spot where she landed.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene when there is a question mark written on the teleprompter and Ron says, "I'm Ron Burgundy?" you see a shot of the teleprompter and the question mark is visible. However, what's written on the teleprompter and what Ron says before this are two different things. Ron says something about the panda, but the teleprompter says something about a blind man and his pet falcon.

Mistake Character mistake: After Veronica Corningstone becomes an anchor, there is a montage of newspaper articles featuring her. Her name is misspelled as "Veronica Cornerstone" in one of the headlines.

Mistake Continuity: After Ron cleans himself up at the bar, we get a good closeup shot of his face, and there is no colored makeup. When Ron got to the zoo, he went straight into the bear pit to help Veronica. After coming from the bear pit, he goes on camera with blue makeup around his eyes. Did the bears put it on him?

Mistake Revealing: In the shot of the bears returning to the cave, one can see a thin piece of string/fishing line tied to a rock on the left side of the screen and stretched across to the other side.

Mistake Plot hole: At the end of the movie when getting out of the bear pit, the crew decides to use a ladder when a set of stairs can be seen. Was this so Vince Vaughn could give his respect speech?

Mistake Continuity: After the biker gets the burrito thrown at him and falls to the ground, there is a shot of him from behind where you can see that he undid his helmet buckle. But in the next shot of him getting up, he undoes the buckle again.

Mistake Continuity: Early in the movie, as Ron Burgundy is talking with his dog at his apartment, pay close attention to the suit jacket on the back of the chair. As the camera shifts between views of the dog and Ron, the coat moves around. In the final shot, when the dog jumps off the back of the chair, the coat is in yet a third position.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where the news team is sitting around on the set and complaining about how much Ron's life has been sucked up by Veronica, Ron is eating a sandwich, which from shot to shot, varies up and down in the number of bites that have been taken out of it.

Mistake Continuity: After the big fight scene with all the different news stations, Ron and his news team are all in the office thinking about what happened. Ron puts down a beer bottle at one point. In the first shot of this, the bottle is about half full. In the second shot, it is filled to the point where the curve in the bottle ends, which is more beer than there was in the first shot.

Mistake Factual error: Although the film is set in the 1970s, the San Diego Convention Center can be seen in several skyline shots of the city of San Diego throughout the film. It was built during the mid 1980s.

Mistake Other: In the scene where Ron and Veronica are in the car overlooking San Diego talking about the name, you can see just above Veronica's head, a bug climbing on the camera.

Mistake Factual error: The movie is set in the 1970's, yet when Brian Fantana is reporting from the zoo, a man wearing a U.S. army jacket walks behind him. The jacket is of the woodland camouflage design which was not made until the 1980's.

Mistake Factual error: Although the film is set in the 1970's, Petco Park (The San Diego Padre's ballpark) can be seen in a skyline shot of the city of San Diego. It wasn't built until around 2001-2002.

Mistake Factual error: Throughout the movie, there are shots of downtown San Diego, which is supposed to be set in the 1970s. Yet, there are shots of One America Plaza, the tallest building in San Diego, which was built in 1991.

Mistake Revealing: In the brawl, where the horseman are coming after Brian, look at the two newsmen behind him. One rears back without getting hit, then the one he's fighting falls on the ground like he got hit without actually getting hit.

Mistake Continuity: When Ron and Veronica are seated at the jazz club, they both order drinks. As they sit talking during the same shot, their drinks arrive at the table within 10 seconds.

Mistake Continuity: When Ben Stiller appears at the fight scene, there are six people behind him on the staircase. When the shot shifts to Ben Stiller and his crew joining the circle, only five people are behind him.

Mistake Audio problem: After Ron hears that if he can't make it to the station in time that they are going to put Veronica on, he exits the phone booth and runs toward the camera. You can see him push over a man and shout "I've got to do the news" but if you watch his lips, they aren't moving when he says this.

Mistake Revealing: Near the end of the film when the channel four news team is down in the bear pit, Luke Wilson is reporting on the drama at the top of the pit as it unfolds; during which one of the bears reaches up out of the pit to grab Luke Wilson's remaining arm. Just before the bear rips his arm off, you can see the line at which a fake arm is connected to his suit. It's also very obvious that the hand holding the microphone is fake as well.

Mistake Factual error: Although the film is set in the 1970s, the Emerald Shapery Tower can be seen in several skyline shots of the city of San Diego throughout the film. It was built during the mid 1980's.

Mistake Continuity: After Brian Fantana uses his Sex Panther cologne, he is hosed down by two men outside. Later, Brian's hair is still soaking, but he is wearing the exact same suit which is now completely dry.

Mistake Continuity: During the scene that has Ron Burgundy taking his beloved dog to the vet, he throws his food out of the window. It strikes an angry biker and causes him to wipe-out on the bridge. They show Ron's car going by him. But when Ron stops, the motorcycle is now in front of the car.

Mistake Continuity: When the news stations clash, as soon as they all run into the center of the circle Brian Fantana falls down on the ground, but in the next shot he is fighting at the back.
