Trivia

The name of the company was going to be Cyrix, but it was changed to Cyrez because there is a real company called Cyrix. When Vanessa Williams copies the file, it is called CYXDEF1000. (CYX=Cyrix) See more...

Mistake Continuity: Arnold goes to the gay bar to solicit the help of the guy he saved at the beginning of the movie. The guy is wearing a white shirt and a vest black/gold lamay. During their conversation he takes off the vest, then it cuts to another bartender. When it cuts back the guy has the vest on, another shot and the vest is off again.

Mistake Continuity: Even aside from the ridiculous recoil that a railgun would cause (yeah, I know they don't use gunpowder, but there's got to be SOME opposite movement, surely), how come when the darts (bullets, whatever) go straight through people, they still get thrown backwards? The passage straight through them means minimal energy being transferred to them, and as such they shouldn't be hurled backwards that much.

Mistake Continuity: If the bullets from the super gun move at just under the speed of light, how come the bad guys can't hit him or the girl? The bullets would arrive almost instantaneously and that would mean minimal compensation for them running. Plus the guy had them locked on when he shot.

Mistake Factual error: The bad guys are able to close in on Vanessa Williams at the end by tracing the signal Arnie sends to her beeper. How could they triangulate her location through a passive, receptive device? Maybe if it was a cell phone, but not a pager.

Mistake Continuity: At the end, right before the train crashes into the limo, the back of the limo is facing the blocking rail. However, after the train hits the limo, the front half of the car is right next to the rail, and the rear half is nowhere to be seen.

Mistake Continuity: When Arnold gives the girl a credit card, he slides the card to give her credit, but the magnetic strip is facing the wrong way.

Mistake Continuity: After the court scene, when Arnold and Vanessa are making their exit toward the van, they get in, the van explodes and the camera pans to the underside of the van, showing Arnold pulling a manhole cover closed. The manhole cover was not there when they showed the van from a distance and they didn't have enough time to get in the van and escape through the bottom. Also, because several seconds passed before he closed the manhole cover you would have to assume he was still above ground when the bomb went off, therefore killing him.

Mistake Continuity: Arnold dives to save the girl under the lid of a fridge. When all the drill bits are shot at him with his hand above the fridge door, none hit his hand. But in the next angle one penetrated his hand. Then in the next scene, when he's driving the van with both hands and when he swipes the credit card the wound appears and disappears.

Mistake Revealing: At the end right before the van blows up, we see John and the girl get in to it - if you look very closely, John disappears at the exact second the door closes.

Mistake Continuity: When Arnold is hanging under the parachute the plane tries to hit him and he shoots at the plane, breaking the glass of the cockpit windows. When the plane lands later on, the windows are intact again.

Mistake Continuity: Arnold is handed an upside down photograph of his friend's witness. As he views it the photograph is correctly oriented without being turned around.

Mistake Revealing: When Arnold is in the plane and throws his belt buckle-knife at the traitor. The next shot shows that it bounces off and continues to spin. Pretty obvious that it's held up by a wire.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Cullen is walking down the hall towards the vault we get a camera view where the camera turns to the left, then it turns to the right. If you look closely in the window as the camera turns right you should be able to see the camera man moving.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning outside Johnny's house we see one of the bad guys closing the curtains. When it cuts to a shot from inside the house he close the curtains again.

Mistake Continuity: It's astonishing that Arnold still has a gun after he jumps out of the plane since he didn't holster it before he jumped. Still he pulls it out of his holster before he shoots the plane and during the shootout in the zoo. It's also pretty strange that this weapon, a Desert Eagle .357, fits into the holster, since Arnie's first pistol (the one the young Marshal was shot with) is much smaller. Another fascinating thing about the gun is the fact it has a maximum capacity of nine bullets plus one in the chamber but Arnie fires about 15 or 16 times.

Mistake Continuity: After Arnold wakes up from being drugged on the plane, James Caan is holding up Arnold's gun in a plastic bag. On the close-up the barrel is pointing up, on the wide-angle shot the gun is laying down with the barrel pointing sideways.

Mistake Revealing: When Arnie jumps from the plane, notice the stunt double. He weighs about half of what Arnie would, and has no muscles.

Mistake Factual error: When Arnie shoots out the cockpit window, first of all the glass seems about as thick as a Coke bottle which in reality it isn't. Secondly it shatters like one, not like the modern safety glass which it would be made of.

Mistake Factual error: When the Feds are going to the log cabin, while they are outside, gearing up, Arnold casually attaches a silencer, and pulls back the slide of his pistol, but the slide stays in the rearward position, a condition which should only occur when an empty magazine is in the weapon. Arnold notices and tries to push it forward, this doesn't work so Arnold hides it with his hand for the remainder of the scene.

Mistake Continuity: During the scene near the beginning where Arnie sends the abandoned car into the river, have a look at the front passenger window. It is closed when they all get out of the car but is then fully open as the car hits the water.

Mistake Factual error: When the glass shutters come down in the Cyrez building, both he and James Caans' character start shooting at the glass. Bullet proof or not, you would be able to see marks on the glass.

Mistake Continuity: When John Kruger and the woman are discovered in the Cyrez office using the computer, John grabs her with both arms and throws her to the ground. In the next shot, with them still falling on the ground, John now magically has his gun in his hand to start shooting, which isn't possible in the time difference from the previous shot, and the fact he was holding her with two hands.

Mistake Factual error: When the bad guys are looking through walls with the rail gun's scope the light on the gun shines through the wall, but in real life it doesn't do that unless you are looking through a window.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the warehouse has collapsed on Arnold and he is coming out from underneath the rubble, you can see a guy "hidden" behind some tubes, wearing protective eye wear and holding a welding rod to make a shower of sparks (he is only visible in the widescreen DVD version).

Mistake Continuity: After Cullen has been picked up by the FBI agents they are sitting by a table where Cullen is explained there would be risks. There is a coffee pot on the table and a white paper cup on its right side. When it cuts the paper cup has moved to the other side of the pot.

Mistake Continuity: In Chief Beller's office when Kruger is handed Cullen's file, Kruger sits down while holding his left hand in the middle of the file. When it cuts his hand has moved out to the corner of the file.

Mistake Revealing: When Cullen is in her office wearing the hidden camera disguised as an amulet, we see her from the hidden camera point of view while she is looking in the mirror. You can see she is moving a bit however the view from the hidden camera is perfectly still. It should wobble a bit as well, not standing still.

Mistake Revealing: When Kruger's hand is nailed to the fridge, as he begins pulling his hand loose, you can see it's a fake rubber hand. The fingers wobble in an unnatural way.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning when Kruger lures one of the bad guys out by carefully opening the door, we see the bad guy go out the door pointing his gun up. When it cuts from outside he is pointing his gun forward.

Mistake Continuity: When Kruger is figuring out which one of the three ID's that are fake, in the close-up shot you can see two different scales and a photograph on the table next to the ID's. When it cuts they are gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Donahue shoots himself in the head there is one shot where his eyes are closed. Then suddenly they are open.

Mistake Revealing: When Lee is watching out her window as she pulls her curtains aside you can see there are some blinds in the window. When it cuts to her looking out the window you can see there are different curtains this time and the blinds are gone.

Mistake Other: When Arnold and Vanessa are in the dead guy's office running the CD, Arnold pulls up the shipping date for the arms deal. The screen shows the date to be "TODAY" and Arnold says "Midnight Tonight." Midnight would be 12:00AM, so the screen ought to read 12:00AM tomorrow morning, not today.

Mistake Factual error: After removing the first parachute, Arnold uses the emergency one. However, when he deploys it, he is only a few hundred feet off of the ground. At this height, the parachute would do nothing except possibly snap Arnold's spine.

Mistake Other: When Arnold lands on the car in the junk yard, you can see the side windows of the car exploding outward moments before impact.

Mistake Continuity: When Arnold blasts out of the warehouse with 2 EM Guns, a man is firing at him, standing right next to a surveillance van. Arnold fires back and blows the whole van up but the man is gone.

Mistake Continuity: You can see twice when bad guys are shot when the tape is cut and edited. The first one is when Arnold shoots the bad guy with the shot gun when looking for the blonde girl in the house, you can see just before he hits the picture on the wall that the tape is cut and replaced with the real guy instead of the dummy that was hit by the bullet. The second is at the end at the dock when Arnold has two of those really cool guns. He shoots a vehicle full of guys coming towards him and the vehicle blows up and flies over his head, and just before the vehicle blows up, you can see the cut & edit and then the car blows up and flies through the air. Undoubtedly replaced with a toy car that was blown up!

Mistake Continuity: When Kruger is getting dizzy from the poisonous water he stumbles against a seat with both his hands down. When it cuts he suddenly has his right hand against the wall.

Mistake Continuity: When Robert is strangling his witness we see her grabbing onto the rug with her left hand. When it cuts she suddenly has her hand by Robert's waist.

Mistake Continuity: When Cullen enters the combination for the vault it cuts to the agents following her moves with one of them saying "Bingo.". Look at the surveillance screen behind him and you should be able to see Cullen opening the vault door. When it cuts she opens it again.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning when Kruger puts the gun in the dead hit man's hand, you can see Kruger's gloves are covered in blood. When it cuts to Kruger grabbing his phone his gloves are entirely clean.

Mistake Factual error: In several scenes where someone is shot with an EM gun it nails them to the wall, but if someone was shot with a bullet that was going near the speed of light it would go right though them. And the person wouldn't move at all, they would just fall down.

Mistake Factual error: Vanessa Williams' character hits a bad guy with the coffee pot from the coffee machine and knocks him out. Unlikely, given that the glass is very thin and light on these pots, and there was virtually no coffee in the pot to give it any weight.
