Other mistake: Every time someone gets skewered through with a blade in this film there's never any blood on the blade afterwards. (00:41:50)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, when Hellboy and Liz are talking and Hellboy says, "Hey, you on the other side, let her go...", he raises his head and their heads are close to each other. When it cuts, their heads have moved further away from each other. (01:52:30)
Revealing mistake: When Professor Broom's coffin is being carried, it is raining, and the camera is overhead, no rain falls in the centre of the picture, as the camera is in the way. (01:20:00)
Continuity mistake: When Kronen cuts open the statue in the museum, he in only holding one of his swords. The guards come rushing in and Ilsa says, "get them." Kronen turns and is now holding both of his swords.
Revealing mistake: When Hellboy is running across the path that's being destroyed by the massive pendulum like hammer, at one point he starts to run and you can see he's floating above the rocks as they fall, most likely due to the harness keeping him from falling.
Factual error: During the subway fight, Hellboy rips a payphone off the wall, which sparks as he does so. A phone does not have a voltage source that would be high enough to spark.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Abe Sapien is investigating the cistern for Sammael's eggs, the cord holding the reliquary Hellboy gave him is cut and it falls out of reach. A few shots later, when Abe is frantically swimming away from Sammael, the charm can be seen still attached to his right-hand wrist, following his movements as if still attached to him. Continuity mistake: When Liz goes to tell Hellboy that she is going out with Myers, her arms change from at her stomach and shoulder to at her sides between a shot from behind and the next front shot. (01:09:00)
Continuity mistake: When Hellboy punches the car in the street, watch closely: he knocks the bumper off, it moves in the direction of the car, yet it never hits the ground. (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: When Rasputin is talking to the professor about the evil in him, his hand ripples. From the front, his small finger is mostly straight, but in the shot behind, it's mostly flexed. Cut back and it's straight again. (01:17:40)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning, when you first see grown-up Hellboy, you can see his legs, and like the comic, the calves are skinny and he has hoofs rather than feet. Yet in every other scene his calves are much bulkier (big enough to fill his pants) and he has human feet which he wears large boots on.
Revealing mistake: When Hellboy is filing down his horns with the small razor/sander contraption, you can tell the small sparks coming off are not coming from the contact of his horns and the sander, but rather are coming right out of the sander, revealing it is a prop. (00:48:20)
Continuity mistake: In the chapel at the end, Ilsa punches Myers and looks down to her right at him. Next shot is over Hellboy's shoulder, and she's still looking down in the background. Cut back to her for several lines and she's looking up and to her left. (01:41:00)
Other mistake: During Hellboy's second encounter with Sammael, at one point they crash through the ceiling of a subway station, causing panic. Watch closely when they first fall through and you see shots of the crowd reacting and running away... In at least two different shots, you can see an Asian female extra with dark hair who is not only looks completely disinterested, but is moving at a slow, leisurely pace while everyone else is running.
Continuity mistake: Manning and Hellboy are in the tomb tunnels when Manning brushes the back of his hand against the blades in the walls, but later he shows the wound to Hellboy and this time it's on the tip of his finger,.
Revealing mistake: During the scene in which Rasputin is resurrected, at one point, Ilsa wipes some snow off a wall then checks her book to see if she can match a symbol. When she opens the book, some snow lands inside of it... and it is incredibly obvious that the snow is fake. It looks like pieces of torn up paper.
Other mistake: When the camera pulls up from Hellboy embracing the dead Professor Broom, you can see that several of the evidence numbers are present more than once. Evidence numbers exist to identify and correlate different pieces of evidence without doubt in photographs of the crime scene. It would just be nonsensical to re-use them on different pieces of evidence on one and the same crime scene.
Continuity mistake: When Hellboy chases Sammael into the subway, in one shot, he's slightly leaning to his right. In the next shot, he's leaning to his left with no time to change. This has nothing to do with the camera angle.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene in the museum, when Abe shows John Hurt what happened in the building, a reflector screen is reflected in John Hurt's glasses.
Continuity mistake: When Hellboy throws the Nazi guy into the spike pit, a bunch of objects also go in as well. In several shots, they disappear or change position.
Chosen answer: Her jewelry does not melt either because the fire wraps around her and shoots outward enveloping her and her clothes and jewelry in a safe environment that allows her to breathe without burning the air going into her lungs. Plus if it burned her clothes it would get an R rating.
