The Girl Next Door (2004) - 23 mistakes

Continuity: When the guy goes to get in Danielle's car after he strips for her, he opens the door and the window is up; but when he closes the door, the window is down.

Revealing: When Eli and Klitz are being chased by Mule, Eli and Klitz go over the railing and land on the table. After that when Mule lands on the table you can see the table break a split second before he lands on it.

Continuity: In the strip club scene, three drinks are ordered by the characters. Later when the waitress comes to put them down, she puts down the second drink at one end of the table and in the next shot Matthew is already touching the glass on the other side of the table. Afterwards, the number and position of the glasses changes frequently between shots.

Continuity: At the adult convention when Eli and Klitz begin to run from Mule, you can see them run past a gentleman in a red shirt. Mule then pushes this man to the ground, but in the next shot the man is walking again when Eli and Klitz check behind them to see where Mule is.

Continuity: As Klitz and Matthew are running away from Mule, you can see Mule turning the corner and knocks a guy in a red shirt over. The next shot when it shows Klitz and Matthew again Mule has disappeared and everyone behind them have gone from trying to get out of Mule's way to walking along like nothing is happening.

Continuity: When Matt tries to convince Eli and Klitz to go to the beach, you can see a blond girl with a brown handbag walking with someone else with a blue, white and black backpack. After cutting to Klitz, we can see the same two girls walking behind Matt again.

Continuity: At the party when Matt is deciding what to do after being told to leave, we can see a group playing a game with quarters and cups. The cup in the middle of the table gets knocked over, but in the next shot it is standing upright.

Continuity: As the popular kids are speeding past the school security guard, notice the last car a black pick up truck. There are six kids in the back of the truck. In the very next shot you can see there are only two kids in the back. Although one of the kids was crouched in front of the kids that were standing up and might have been obscured from view, the other three were sitting in plain view and have disappeared.

Revealing: Just before the security guard smashes his car into the oncoming car, you can see he has been replaced by an stunt dummy.

Continuity: When Eli jumps off the platform while being pursued by Mule, we can see from the shot of him falling that he will land on his back or his head, yet he lands face down in the cake.

Continuity: When Matt is driving away from the security guard, as soon as he crashes the hood comes up to the window and in the next shot the hood is shown as it would if you were normally driving then goes to the window again.

Continuity: When Matthew is trying to get into Kelly's car with Eli and Klitz, Kelly's door is locked and Matt struggles for a second. The camera then cuts away and when it cuts back he's getting in with ease.

Continuity: During the pep rally when the jock is speaking, you can see two girls sitting next to the school mascot. However, when Matt is speaking Eli and Klitz are now sitting next to the mascot for all subsequent shots.

Audio problem: During the scene at the AVN convention, when Matt sees Danielle by her big poster dancing and signing autographs for a group of fans, he walks over and starts pleading his true feelings and asks her to come down and talk to him. Right as he pleads, "This is all my fault", the camera shot slightly to the left and behind Matt does not show his lips moving at all.

Revealing: When Matt is chasing Dannielle's car naked, it is clear that a body double is being used as he is taller and has lighter color hair than Matt.

Continuity: When Kelly, Eli and Danielle enter the strip club, Kelly is in front. Yet when the camera goes in, Danielle is in front.

Continuity: When Danielle and Matthew are sitting in the diner, she draws a picture on a place mat with crayons and then slides it across the table to him. Later in the movie when Matt hands it back to her at the convention, the drawing is larger. Admittedly, the place mat is also twice as wide as it was in the diner, but it should not be.

Continuity: When Matt, his friends and Danielle arrive at the party, Danielle is wearing a top where her cleavage is visible. When they enter the house, Danielle is wearing a different top where you can't see her cleavage.

Continuity: In the diner scene when Danielle is drawing the picture, it goes from having hair to not having hair, and back between shots.

Continuity: When Matt, Kelly and Danielle are at the strip club, Danielle gets up to use the bathroom. If you look in the background while she is standing up, a man in a black muscle shirt walks by a stripper. When Matt sits down, the man is gone and isn't seen taking a seat anywhere.

Visible crew/equipment: When Kelly bursts into the classroom and pulls the main character out of the chair there is a shot of them from behind as they leave. There you can see the battery pack on the back of the main characters pants.

Continuity: At the Adult Convention when Hugo and Danielle are talking, Kelly lights a cigarette and blows smoke right in between Hugo and Danielle. In the next shot there is no visible sign of this smoke cloud, but when the shot goes back to Kelly, you can see the smoke.

Continuity: When Eli tells all of the minions to leave the AV room, two of the kids spin a desk chair to get out of the room. The chair is seen hitting the desk with the backrest facing the desk. When Matt and Eli begin to watch the tape the backrest of the chair is facing the AV equipment.
