Scott meets a woman from Germany on the internet named Mieke, who he thinks is a man named Mike. Mieke e-mails Scott saying she wants to meet him. He tells her to basically get lost. A while later he realizes that Mieke is a woman and sets off to find her in Europe.

Answer: There doesn't appear to be any significant overlap. Scott is hardly an uncommon name and seeing an actress from one film in another isn't exactly uncommon either - neither implies any greater link.
