Visible crew/equipment: When Harry and Hermione are at Hagrid's to rescue Buckbeak, Harry walks toward the hippogriff and bows. In the next shot just as Beaky bows, when his head is down low, look directly in between the right edge of the screen and the wood post, above the pumpkins. A pair of black pants quickly pass to the left; it's certainly not one of the crows, unless it grew human legs. (Only visible in widescreen.)

Continuity: During the scene where the Fat Lady is missing, the students are gathered on the stairs and Fred and George are on the top of the stairs, right next to each other. In the shot right after Ginny says, "The Fat Lady, she's gone," one of the twins is on the left, at the foot of the other staircase. He could not have moved that fast, because the two are standing beside each other when Ginny talks.

Revealing: Between the shots of Marge floating out of the house and later when Petunia runs to Vernon on the grass, there are many significant changes. The short brick walls that edge the Dursley garden are actually different bricks, different grout and are even aligned differently between these shots. The bushes along the wood fence are at least 2-3 ft away from the corner bricks in the first shots, but in the last shot are aligned with the corner. The height of those bushes go from being way above the top of the wood fence to being at least a foot below. In the first shots there are small metal plaques that are attached along the top of the wood fence, but in the last shot they are gone.

Continuity: When Fred and George give Harry the Marauder's Map, Harry opens it up and on the right is Dumbledore's study. In the close-up shot of Dumbledore's study, the map is drawn with much more elaborate detail for fun and dramatic flair and the actual words of the interlocking circles are written on the map extremely differently than the previous shot.

Continuity: As the Knight Bus begins to appear, Harry falls back onto the ground, leans on his arms and in the front shot his sweatshirt is off his right shoulder, but in the next side shot, as he still leans on his arms, both sides of his jacket are properly on.

Continuity: In the Shrieking Shack, Harry grabs Sirius Black and throws him to the floor. There are many black marks on the floorboards, like paw prints etc. Although Sirius doesn't move when Harry first throws him on the floor, the black marks on the floorboard near Black's head change between the first wideshot of him on the floor and the following closeup and in subsequent shots as well.

Continuity: In the first exterior shot looking through the Dursley's patio doors, as they have dinner, and later when Vernon runs after Marge, the threshold is wide, flat and all white. Below the glass on the doors the trim is narrow and at the very bottom it is wide. There is a keyhole opening (on the left door) under a particular style door handle and there is a wide double lip going round the entire edge of the left door. When Petunia runs out, the threshold is higher up and mostly brick, with a thin strip of white in the middle. The style of the patio doors under the glass is completely different, there is no keyhole, the handle style differs and there is no double lip on the door. Additionally, the large clay pots with plants, beside the doors, change from being glazed and shiney to being unglazed, its plants differ and things change position.

Continuity: In the first exterior shot, as the Dursleys eat dinner, both sides of the kitchen window (above the patio set) are closed. When Harry says, "Oh yeah, I've been beaten loads of times," the right side of the window is clearly open, as the window's diamond shaped pattern is only towards the left side. It's also visible when the lights flicker and the window curtain on the right blows in. In the last shot, as Marge floats away, both sides of the window are closed again.

Revealing: After Harry's first ride on Buckbeak during Hagrid's class, before Buckbeak cuts Malfoy's arm with his talon, when Malfoy holds his arm over his face, the pre-cut and ripped sleeve is visible in this close-up.

Continuity: When Sirius flies off on Buckbeak, the ground on which he takes off from is a perfectly clean stone ground with nothing on it. Yet after Sirius has flown off, Harry and Hermione run across the same ground, only now it is covered in dead leaves, grass and mud, etc.

Continuity: When Harry first sees the Patronus with Sirius, from Harry's POV it is clear that the Patronus light contracts entirely into the wand, while the area around the wand is still visible, and then he collapses. However, when Harry casts the spell later into the movie, Harry collapses on the other side of the lake, while the light from the wand is still quite large.

Continuity: When Harry boards the Knight Bus in the exterior shot, the curtain in the small window at the stairs is pushed open towards the outside of the bus. However, in the next interior shot the curtain is pushed open towards the inside of the bus.

Continuity: Immediately after Remus' and Sirius' fight (as werewolf and animagus dog), a wounded Sirius stumbles down a pathway towards the lake. Harry is only a few steps behind him. When the scene cuts to the next shot, Harry is now running down a wooded slope alone and spots Sirius lying next to the lake. Sirius, in his weakened and injured condition, could not have sprinted so far and so quickly ahead of Harry. The terrain isn't steep enough for Sirius to have rolled all the way to the edge, and he wouldn't have had time to get up and continue walking.

Continuity: In the CoMC class, when Hermione says "I think they're funny", you can see her Time-Turner outside her robes. When she turns to look at Malfoy, it's not visible anymore.

Continuity: When the kids are on the Hogwarts Express, there is a bottle of water on the flat fold up tray near Lupin. As the train is bumped, Ron is jerked forward, but the bottle remains in the same position.

Continuity: When Dudley is hit by the first button that flies off Aunt Marge, we can see a table beside him with a lamp and a picture on it. When it cuts to Dudley lying on the floor, we can see the lamp and the picture have changed position.

Continuity: When Hermione and Harry hide behind the pumpkins, Hermione says, "Come on! We're coming out the back door. Go!" As HRH run out of Hagrid's, Hermione and Harry run to hide behind the trees. In the shot facing the two, with the pumpkins and Hagrid's behind them, the blanket on the ground beside the pumpkins is visible, though it is gone thereafter.

Continuity: During the dinner scene at the Dursleys, Dudley is shown in a close-up watching a game-show where a young woman is putting on large headphones. But when the shot returns to the whole room, you can see the girl on the TV putting on the headphones all over again.

Continuity: In the first shot at dinner, when Marge says, "Finish that off for Mommy...Rippy-pooh." she places her plate down on the carpet for Ripper. In the view under the table, Harry's and Vernon's legs are visible and Vernon walks past Dudley. In the next shot, Vernon comes from the side and walks past again.

Revealing: When Ron and Hermione are arguing with Malfoy near the Shrieking Shack, Malfoy visibly flinches before he is hit by the first snowball. He's not looking in the right direction to see it coming.
