Love Actually

In (very) brief summary:-Karl can't handle Sarah's relationship with her mentally challenged brother Michael and leaves her; she is last seen wrapping a scarf around Michael and giving him a hug.-Karen discovers that Harry bought a gold necklace for his secretary and confronts him about it after their children's play at school; a month later, we see that they are still together, but there is visible tension between the two.-Billy Mack's single "Christmas Is All Around" (inexplicably) reaches No. 1 on the charts Christmas Eve and he gets invited to a party Elton John is throwing, but he leaves it early to spend time with his manager, Joe, who he has discovered is his real best friend. Later on that night, as promised, he performs live (and nude) on national television.-On Christmas Eve, Mark visits Juliet and Peter at home and, by way of pieces of posterboard, confesses his love to Juliet, realizing that there will never be anything between them. Doing so allows him to get it out of his system once and for all, and he leaves, but not before Juliet gives him a kiss.-Body doubles John and Judy go out together; afterwards, Judy tells John she loves him. One month later, the couple are engaged.-Colin goes to Milwaukee, WI and winds up in a bar with four beautiful sisters. One month later, he returns to England with two sisters in tow-one for him and one for his friend Tony.-Jamie learns Portugese, flies back to France and proposes (in broken Portugese) to Aurelia in front of her father, sister, and most of her town. She accepts in broken English.-Sam performs onstage and is a smash; however, Joanna leaves for the airport before he can confess his love. After Daniel runs into a woman named Carol, he takes Sam to the airport, where he dodges airport security to tell Joanna he loves her. Before she leaves, she gives Sam a kiss. One month later, Joanna and Sam reunite at the airport, while Daniel and Carol appear to have started a relationship together.-And finally, after searching most of the neighborhood, the Prime Minister finds Natalie and they share their love for each other, kissing backstage at the nativity play. One month later, the Prime Minister arrives at the airport and Natalie jumps into his arms. The two go off together.

Karen: Tell me, what would you do in my position?
Harry: What position is that?
Karen: Imagine your husband bought a gold necklace and come Christmas gave it to somebody else...
Harry: Oh, Karen...
Karen: Would you wait around to find out if it's just a necklace, or if it's sex and a necklace, or if worst of all it's a necklace and love? Would you stay, knowing life would always be a little bit worse? Or would you cut and run?
Harry: Oh, God. I am so in the wrong. The classic fool.
Karen: Yes, but you've also made a fool out of me, and you've made the life I lead foolish too.

Juliet arrives at Mark's flat and brings banoffee pie with her, wanting to see the wedding video. She slips the video into the VCR and places the open pastry box on top of the TV stand. As she takes her jacket off the pastry box is gone, yet in the next shot of the TV the box is right next to the remote, which then changes position in the last shot when the remote disappears. The TV is in the center of the stand in some shots, but to the left of the stand in other shots. The video cassettes, etc., change/alter their position within these shots as well.

Any viewers outside of Britain might not get the joke when Billy Mack isn't sure which one is Ant or Dec. They are very well known in the UK, and dominate Saturday night telly. The joke refers to the fact that even though they are popular, a lot of people don't know which one's which.
