Scary Movie 3 (2003) - 11 questions

Question: Cindy told Cody that she's taken care of him since his birth. Have ten years passed between the second and third movies (considering Cody's age)? Because she didn't take care of anyone in Scary Movie 2.

Answer: It's unlikely 10 years have passed, but very little is consistent across this franchise. For example, Brenda dies in this film, and yet is alive and well in the next one. It's just a throwaway line of dialogue that explains why Cindy has a kid so that the film can spoof "The Ring".

Question: There was a mistake about a crew member's hand being visible when a woman is trying to shut the fridge door, but I can't see it. Can anyone tell me if it is at the top, middle or the bottom of the fridge?

Answer: It's reflected in the window, opposite the fridge - it's a hand pushing at the fridge door.

Question: I don't get the Michael Jackson scene where he goes out the window, and Charlie Sheen finds his body (which doesn't look real) and then something is running in the bushes. Does anyone know just what exactly is going on there?

Answer: It was an alien in a Michael Jackson skin. He shed it and ran off into the bushes.

Question: There is something I have always wondered about spoofs: Do they actually get permission from the makers of the films they spoof?

Answer: Nope. Parodies aren't usually covered by copyright laws as they are generally considered to be as example of fair usage, provided that it can be demonstrated that the copyrighted material was used in a manner that is considered to be a commentary, ridicule or criticism of that material.

Question: When Tom kisses Annie, he chokes, then pulls something out his mouth ... what is it?

Answer: He is pulling out a sparkplug, smashed into her by the car crash.

Question: The Joke about the sheriff's hat getting bigger - is it from a film or any other source?

Answer: This is a spoof of a scene in the movie Signs by M. Night Shyamalan.

Question: Why does the female police sheriffs hat get bigger when she climbs into the car? Is it a joke?

Answer: Yes, it's just a joke that her hat gets bigger throughout the scene, until it is so huge that it can barely fit into the car.

Question: On IMDB it says Scary Movie 3 spoofs Gothika, Final Destination, Darkness Falls and Bruce almighty. Does anyone know where and when these spoofs happen?

Answer: Though I couldn't find any reference to those movies being spoofed, I think it's probably a case of people adding their own meaning to something really obscure - for instance, someone claimed (on the IMDB boards) that in the spoofed "Ring" video when the woman jumps off the cliff and hits a tree, it's a reference to a Madonna music video where she has black hair and a dress, and falls. It isn't.

Question: After that George (the Eminem wannabe) has been thrown out the window at the rap-club he and a friend of his walk past a parked car. Under the car you can see two feet sticking out. I don't think it's a crew member, I don't see any reason for a crew member to lie there. Is this any kind of joke or what? Why do someone lie there? Can someone please explain?

Answer: It's just in the random nature of the films to have a dead boby's legs sticking out from underneath a car.

Question: Could someone please tell me the name of the song that starts playing in the news room, when that wild party starts?

Answer: It's a parody of the "Coors twins" song that plays during the Superbowl.
