In the scene in which Johnny attempts to assassinate Greg Stillson, the photographer taking pictures of Stillson shielding himself with Sarah's baby is Martin Sheen's son, Ramon Estevez.
During Johnny's visions, his involuntary jerks were achieved by David Cronenberg firing a .357 Magnum revolver loaded with blanks from behind the camera.
Ken Pogue, who plays Greg Stillson's future Vice President, made an appearance in a 2003 episode of the TV series "The Dead Zone"
