Mistake Continuity: When Aladdin is being held prisoner in the palace dungeon, he is seated on the floor with his hands secured above his head. A very thick heavy metal chain hangs on the wall in an arc directly to the left to his hand irons. The chain is shown bolted twice to the wall Aladdin is against in the first long shot looking down. The next shot showing Aladdin in this position and the chain is much closer to his shackles, now just inches away. After Abu picks the lock on the shackles, the heavy chain vanishes altogether. The shackles also shrink in length throughout the scene from over 2 feet long at the beginning to under a foot as Abu picks the lock.

Mistake Continuity: When Jasmine first enters the marketplace and is noticed by Aladdin. Abu and Aladdin are on a reddish awning belonging to the stand of the Melon Merchant. The stand next door sells apples and has a yellowish canopy. When Jasmine is accused of stealing the apple and the vendor has raised his sword to cut her hand off, she is positioned directly between the right side of the Apple sellers stand and the Melon Stand (melons visible behind Jasmine's head as she is exclaiming NO). Aladdin stops the sword and takes it away from the apple merchant and passes it to Jasmine. They start walking past the neighboring melon stand, then suddenly they are on the far left side of the apple stand.

Mistake Continuity: Throughout the "One Jump" scene, the Guards chasing Aladdin have their swords drawn, except when they are moving the sheep out of the way. When Abu snatches a sword from the mouth of the sword swallower one Guard exclaims in fear "Look, He's got a sword!" The Lead Guard exclaims "Idiots, we've all got swords!" Then he draws his sword, followed by the rest of the guards. Their swords were already drawn and above their heads at that point in the chase. Also of note is the dramatic metal against metal sound as the swords are being drawn from the cloth or leather belts at that moment. Other people had determined that the swords were simply kept in their belts not scabbards. What is causing the dramatic metal against metal sound if not a scabbard?

Mistake Continuity: The appearance of Aladdin changed dramatically during film production. I was an artist of licensed Disney products at the time. I constantly received updated appearance drawings of Aladdin as he was re-developed. Originally Aladdin was a boy about 12 years old. He was made older after a substantial amount of the film had been done. In the process of re-animating the film to match the now 16 year old Aladdin, some parts were overlooked. Particularly in the "Friend Like Me" segment. Compare the size of Abu to Aladdin. In some spots Abu is almost half the size of Aladdin(long shots). When this happens, look at the childish proportions of Aladdin's body. In the film Abu is normally about 10 percent of Aladdin's size.

Mistake Continuity: Jasmine and her father are speaking by the fountain about the law preventing a princess from marrying anyone except a prince. As they walk towards the fountain in a dramatic downshot, it is apparent that the water in the fountain has no lily pads floating in it and the water is rapidly moving from the water spilling into it from above. When Jasmine swishes her hand through the water in a closeup shot, the surface now is covered with lily pads and is still.

Mistake Continuity: In the beginning of the song "Friend Like me", Genie puts Aladdin on a rock. Then after he says "Whilst I illuminate the possibilities", the rock Aladdin is on has changed shape.

Mistake Revealing: When Gazeem is standing in front of the Cave of Wonders, he leaves no footprints in the sand.

Mistake Continuity: In the Arctic Wasteland, the tower rests very close to a cliff with the window high up on the side. During the scene, the window keeps changing locations, especially relative to how much the tower has rolled.

Mistake Continuity: After Jafar has wished to become Sultan, look behind Jasmine and the Sultan: the pattern on the low walls has ovals leaning to the left. Later, when Iago says "Let's all give a warm Agrabah welcome to Sorcerer Jafar," the oval pattern leans to the right.

Screen shot Continuity: During the Magic Carpet Ride sequence, Jasmine's flower in her hair disappears when she pats the horse. Also, the horses are ridiculously small compared to Jasmine.

Mistake Continuity: Aladdin is scaling the stairs that lead to the lamp in the "Cave of Wonders". The downshot as Aladdin just begins to climb, shows all of the steps are deeply recessed into the rocks. As Aladdin climbs, a distant silhouette shot shows Aladdin climbing stairs projecting from the rocks. When Aladdin reaches the summit, all steps are recessed except the last five. Once Abu takes the jewel from the idol's hands, the cave begins to collapse. As Aladdin runs down the stairs, all of the steps now project outward substantially from the rocks.

Mistake Continuity: When Aladdin is shackled in the dungeon seated against the wall with his hands above his head he is bathed in moonlight coming through a window. The camera actually pans from the window directly to Aladdin so that the light source is definite. The window has nine open panes, the light it casts has 12 panes.

Mistake Continuity: After Abu is changed into an elephant, he is still wearing his purple vest. When the guards seize Prince Ali in the palace gardens on Jafar's orders, we see Abu, as elephant, is tied up and hanging in a net-like rope restraint from a palm tree. His vest was not drawn onto his figure, under the ropes.

Mistake Continuity: During the apple vendor scene in the marketplace, the vendor says to Aladdin (while picking Aladdin up by his vest and spinning him around away from Jasmine) "She says she knows the Sultan," and Aladdin responds "She thinks the monkey is the Sultan". At this point the large, branched, canopy support on the left side of the apple stand is missing entirely.

Mistake Continuity: When Jafar is in the desert in his tramp disguise, and thinks he has the lamp, he has hardly any teeth, but when he pulls off the disguise, he suddenly has a full set of teeth.

Mistake Continuity: During the song "One Jump" the guards throw swords at Aladdin, and they hit a wooden post. Then when the guards shake them off, there are no cuts in the post, which should have happened.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Genie explains to Aladdin what wishes he can and can't have, the lamp is visible on the ground in front of Aladdin, but in the shot where Genie says, "Other than that, you've got it," the lamp has disappeared from the ground.

Mistake Continuity: In the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin picks up the lamp. In one shot the handle is on the right and the opening is on the left. In the next shot, it's the other way around.

Mistake Continuity: Aladdin gives the boy his bread and he bites into it. A few seconds later the bite marks have disappeared.

Mistake Continuity: Sultan has just entered Jasmine's room and announced that he has found her a suitor - "you will wed Jafar". All of the pillars in Jasmine's room are a deep bronze tan color with wide dark red bands, edged by bright gold. We see several of them as Jafar and Sultan enter Jasmine's room. The pattern is very obvious when we first see Prince Ali leaning against a column with this coloration. As Prince Ali storms up to Jafar to declare "he tried to have me killed", the pattern and color of ALL the columns in Jasmine's room have changed to gold with much smaller and lower bands of pink, and now each column has a large hanging lantern. The columns stay with the new pattern and coloration until the end of the scene. The lighting in the scene hadn't changed to account for the new coloration, and even if it had, that couldn't account for the difference in layout, design and lanterns on the columns.
