Barb Wire (1996) - 48 mistakes

Revealing: When Barb is in the bubble bath, you can see the strap from a G-string she is wearing.

Continuity: The order of the plugs on the cups of the clamped-on, electro-shock bra device the Woman in Torture Room is wearing change locations in different shots.

Revealing: When Barb goes down to meet the Directorates, she flashes Axel and Cora D. You can see the line from a G-string she is wearing to cover up.

Continuity: After finding Krebs, Barb handcuffs him, and he always remains cuffed. But after Barb shoots one bodyguard, and he falls out of the window, we see a shot of Krebs looking startled, and his hands are at either side of his legs - he is now uncuffed, although Barb never uncuffed him.

Continuity: When Barb fights Kreb's bodyguards, one throws a chair at Barb, which misses, and hits a shelf. The shelf falls down onto a trolley-table, which is to the left of the shelf. In the next shot the trolley-table in to the right of the shelf. One shot is probably flipped.

Revealing: When Barb emerges from the bubble bath, she covers the front of herself with a towel, but when she walks past a mirror, a second towel can be seen covering her backside.

Visible crew/equipment: Boom mic visible, reflected in Barb's motorbike helmet as she talks to Big Fatso.

Visible crew/equipment: After Colonel Pryzer threatens Willis with the bloody pliers in the room with the corpse and the memory-recollection equipment, after he puts the pliers back down and then walks across the room, the boom mic's shadow can be seen on the ceiling.

Continuity: When Willis is sitting at Barb's office desk, talking to her while she changes behind the screen, his Cognac on the desk is almost finished. Later when he is about to leave, he picks up the drink, and it is a full Cognac again.

Continuity: After recalling the information from Schmitz's bodyguard, Colonel Pryzer goes over to a corpse lying on a metal table, and lifts the sheet up to look under. He then puts the sheet down, yet in the next shot the sheet is positioned differently.

Continuity: In one scene, Barb is using some glasses which inform her that Krebs is in the room next door. She has them on her head, but in the very next shot they are suddenly in her hand.

Continuity: When Barb is saving the girl at the beginning she has to break a window so she throws a chair through it. Then she takes out a grappling hook and clears the extra glass but in the next shot the grappling hook is gone, but returns in the following shot.

Continuity: When Barb goes to see Big Fatso with the lenses, she's got three ammo belts over her shoulders. The one over her right shoulder is under the two that are over her left shoulder meaning that she'd have to take off the two that are over her left shoulder before being able to take off the one that's over her right shoulder. Then Willis arrives with the Congressionals and he tells her to drop her weapons. When he tells her this, the ammo belts have switched places. The one that was over her right shoulder which used to be under the other two ammo belts is now over the other two ammo belts. Then in the next shot, as she's dropping her weapons, the ammo belts return to where they originally were.

Visible crew/equipment: Crew and equipment is visible, reflected in Charlie's eyeglasses, when he is at the bar.

Continuity: After Barb's battle van flips over, Axel and Willis shot at Colonel Pryzer from behind the van. Between three shots a fire appears, disappears and then reappears once again, right beside the van's rear tire.

Revealing: When the soldier is asking for a dance from Barb, Curly says to Barb "Come on Pam."

Continuity: When Barb is fighting Kreb's bodyguards, one is walking through the hole in the mattress. In one shot you can see the floor of the room that the bodyguard is approaching - it is totally covered in small feathers from the mattress. But in the next shot as he enters the room, the floor is now free from feathers.

Continuity: When Barb is with Big Fatso, the Congressionals/Police all drive in, surrounding the place. In one shot we see a Congressional van pulled up beside Barb's battle van, and directly behind the Congressional van is a police car. But then there is a close-up shot of another police car pulling up behind the Congressional van. In the previous shot there was no space at all for another vehicle to pull up in.

Revealing: As Barb is going down the rope with the hostage girl in the beginning of the movie, you can tell it's a stunt person as there are no dark roots showing in her hair (a wig?). Before she goes out the window, and again afterwards, she looks like she needs a root touch-up.

Continuity: When Schmitz sneaks into Barb Wire's bar kitchen, to hide the retinal lenses, he knocks a metal bowl as he scuttles about, and it falls down, but lands on the base, upright. In the next shot the bowl is now on its side.

Continuity: The position of Barb's hair, as she sits in front of the mirror after her wet dancing show, changes.

Continuity: In the opening credit shots, Barb is dancing and getting sprayed with water, with her breasts hanging out of her leather suit. In all shots her breasts/neck are dripping wet, but in at least one shot, her breasts/neck are dry.

Continuity: When Cora D and Axel are hiding in the back of the car and two people are driving them, the cops then pull in, surrounding them, and the car's wipers are on. But later in the scene, between shots, the wipers are suddenly off.

Continuity: There's a scene at the Hammerhead before it opens where Barb is lying down at a booth and she puts her empty glass on the table. The ice is almost all melted but in the next shot, a close-up as she pours herself some Wild Turkey, the glass is filled with new ice.

Revealing: When Barb throws the grenade it lands on Big Fatso's stomach but if you look carefully just before it explodes you'll notice that the grenade has disappeared.

Continuity: In Barb's war flashback we see her in a military uniform next to a helicopter that's about to take off. In some shots her left hand is on her helmet but in other shots it's at her side.

Continuity: When Barb masquerades as a hooker, her john gets dressed in a leather body suit very quickly. It would take much longer to change into that.

Continuity: When Barb descends down the grappling hook line, with the schoolgirl, in a wide view Barb's hair is blowing upward as they go down, yet in a sudden closeup her hair is straight and still.

Continuity: When Barb is fighting Kreb's bodyguards, as she fights with the second one, she boots him to the floor, and them stands on his crotch. The bodyguard has blue suspenders on. In one shot one of his suspenders is unclipped and is lying across his body. In the next shot the suspender is now neatly clipped back onto his trousers. In addition the gray jacket he wears also changes position.

Continuity: When it shows the Directorates recalling information from Schmitz's bodyguard, they are using a computer to record the information. Beside the computer on the desk, are two clipboards. On one of the clipboards there are a few items, which disappear in all shots from the other side of the room.

Continuity: When the Directorates are recalling information out of one of Schmitz's men in the ice bath, the blue patch stuck on the man's head, to the left of his right eye, moves to above his eye in one shot, then back to the original place in the next.

Revealing: When the bodyguard tries to trap Barb against the wall with the chair, the chair hits the metal pipe running down the wall, to the right, and the metal pipe wobbles.

Continuity: When Barb is fighting with one of Krebs' bodyguards, he is in the other room, shooting at her through the hole in the wall. Barb then runs to the large table (turned on its side) and she has a gun in her right hand. But in the closeup, as she leaps over the table, the gun has vanished and both hands are empty. In the next shot it has returned, for her to begin shooting again.

Continuity: When the bodyguards fight Barb Wire, one of them walks through the wall, holding two guns. Barb then slams the fridge door into him, and he drops one gun. Then, in the the next shot, he holds both guns again, then back to only one, which is then also knocked out from his hand.

Continuity: The amount of Charlie's alcoholic beverage, as he sits at the the Hammerhead Bar, changes between shots, from after he talks to the stripper about what perfume she is wearing, to the end of the scene as he talks to Curly about how many drinks he has had.

Continuity: When Barb arrives on her motorcycle after Axel has crashed the van, she takes off her helmet but before she does she lifts up the visor on it. But when she puts it back on, the visor is back down even though she didn't touch it.

Continuity: When Charlie says "I talk to Spike, or I talk to nobody," his necklace changes position between shots.

Continuity: After Barb discovers her brother's dead body we see her getting some weapons and ammo. In one shot she puts on an ammo belt but in the next shot she's wearing three ammo belts.

Continuity: Near the end of the film, Barb's battle van has four rear wheels in some shots, but two in others.

Continuity: When Barb throws the grenade in the air it lands on Big Fatso's stomach just under a giant stain but in the next shot, a close-up of the grenade landing, the grenade lands just above the giant stain.

Continuity: When Barb leaves the table where Willis and the Directorates sit, we can see the table is covered with loads of glasses. But in the overhead shot when the waiters brings their meals, there aren't any glasses on the table.

Continuity: The position of the dead man's legs, after Barb kills him with the dart-cigarette.

Revealing: The woman in Torture Room is seen lying on the table with her wrists and ankles restrained down to it. However, when she's being killed by the electro-shock devices she's wearing, her right arm is briefly seen rising off the table unrestrained.

Continuity: When Barb is fighting Krebs' bodyguards she opens the refrigerator door and throws one of the bodyguards into it. He lands halfway in so she closes the door as much as she can and shoots the guy twice through the door but in the next shot the bullet holes have disappeared. A few shots later however the bullet holes return but this time there's three instead of two.

Continuity: When Barb shows a license of prostitution while posing as a hooker, it says "Good Health as of: 1-07-19." The film takes place in 2017.

Continuity: In the final fight scene, when Axel hits the Directorate soldier off the platform, he elbows him on the back. The shot immediately goes to him falling off in a forward-facing back flip. It would be impossible to hit him off like that.

Factual error: When Barb kills the Directorate colonel at the end, she pulls the hook release on the crane. We don't see the hook come off when it falls.

Continuity: When Barb is hiding behind the table turned on its side, and she is shooting at the bodyguard, she kicks one of the table legs off. The table leg then falls to the floor and rolls in front of the table. However when it cuts to bodyguard looking through the hole, the table leg has vanished from the floor.
