Mistake Revealing: When the megalodon attacks the yacht the party goers jump off the yacht, and some of them reach the large round safety raft. To the raft's right, there is a visible yellow line attached to it so it doesn't drift away for the shots.

Mistake Revealing: When the megalodon appears, Ben shoots a flare into the sky, which catches the attention of Hector who is flying in the chopper. In the exterior shot of Hector's reaction, there is a reflection of a fence on the side of the chopper, even though Ben signaled for help while out in the ocean.

Mistake Continuity: During one scene, in numerous shots Ben pushes the throttle lever all the way up, but in shots between he never actually pulls the lever down.

Mistake Continuity: The shark is about to attack the cameraman but instead bites a wooden plank on the boat and withdraws back to the ocean, causing no human or material damage. However, in the following close-up, bite marks appear on the wood.

Mistake Continuity: In Playa del Rey, the 2 guys watch Cataline's butt and she calls their attention. The glasses on the face of one of them keep swapping from being well placed to up by his forehead.

Mistake Continuity: When a guy is playing frisbee with his dog on the beach, the sky keeps swapping from sunny to cloudy.

Mistake Continuity: When Ben takes the photograph of the shark tooth to have it analyzed, he hold the tooth as he uses his digital camera. The camera is not connected to his computer, but the picture appears anyway. Also, Ben's fingers are not holding the tooth and the photo doesn't have a background.

Mistake Revealing: The shark attacks the parasailing boat and makes the driver hit his head against a rail and fall unconscious. First of all, the bang of his head is not heard. Second, his hit and further fall are one of the worst stunts in movie history.

Mistake Continuity: Cat places a GPS and camera on the shark's right side of the tail, but the images they receive are from the left side of the tail.

Mistake Continuity: Cat places a GPS on the shark's tail, and the gadget sticks out as if someone had placed it from behind. But she was on the right side, and aimed straight, so there's no way for the GPS to be in that position.

Mistake Audio problem: When Ben shoots at the shark, he falls backwards and pulls no trigger, yet bangs are heard.

Mistake Continuity: When the shark is about to attack Scott, the parasailing boat driver, the shark keeps swapping from being way underwater to close to the surface in a matter of nano seconds.

Mistake Continuity: On the boat, the crew is filming the shark approaching. When it swims, bait suddenly appears hanging from the air, which changes to a humongous piece of bait half a second later, together with the climate, that swaps to cloudy, and then in a change of angle the bait is gone and it's sunny again.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: After the 2 guys and Cataline arrive at Playa del Rey, one of them looks at her with his sunglasses on. The reflection shows no woman, but a metal structure with a brilliant light flashing.

Mistake Continuity: The same shot of the front of the boat is used over and over again, despite the waves or the speed changing in the wide angles the front is always moving fast on a calmed sea.

Mistake Continuity: On the boat, when looking for the shark, Ben lifts the speed handle and puts his hands away from it. When he grabs it again, couple seconds later, with the boat moving fast, the handle is down and he lifts it again.

Mistake Continuity: Before the cameraman is about to be attacked by the shark, he says he's filmed a great scene and gives a high five to Cat two times. The second one, she lifts her right arm but immediately the shot cuts to a close-up where she has her arm down, yet the sound of hands touching is heard.

Mistake Continuity: The crew is reflected on the glass on the wall when Ben visits Cat in her apartment.

Mistake Continuity: Before the parasailing woman falls to the water, the parasail is behind her, but in the close-ups it disappears.

Mistake Revealing: When the boat sinks, the shark eats a boat and, seconds later, two men in the water. For both scenes, the same footage of the shark coming out of the water and moving its jaws is used.
