Wrong Turn (2003) - 38 mistakes

Plot hole: The fearless trio is in the watch tower when the hillbillies set fire to it. Realizing their fate if they stay, the three then jump out the window and onto nearby tree branches in order to escape the blaze. After escaping the towering inferno, it seems that the fire dies immediately. These three don't go far after jumping and are in the trees for some time. Shouldn't there be a great glow and lots of noise and smoke from the fire as the watch tower burns down?

Continuity: In the scene where Carly, Scott, Chris and Jessie are approaching the house in the woods, the shot from the back shows Jessie crossing her arms and leaving them there, and Scott behind Carly, but a shot from the front shows Jessie's arms down by her side, and Scott holding Carly.

Continuity: Towards the beginning of the film, as Jeremy Sisto walks down the road, he's wearing a flower necklace in the scene before his girlfriend has picked the flower for him. In the subsequent scene when she picks it, he's not wearing it.

Continuity: When Chris is hiding under the bed with Eliza Dushku, after the mountain-men drops the corpse, we see blood flowing towards the left hand, that is under the Chris's chin. In the next shot, the hand is the right one and after that it is the left one again.

Continuity: When they find the watch tower, Chris tosses aside the branch he was using as a crutch, so that he can climb up the ladder. After they've been spotted, when one of the mountain men is trying to come through the trap door, watch closely. After they block it off, Chris grabs the branch to use as a weapon.

Continuity: After the watch tower scene when Eliza is walking on the branches there are a few close ups of her feet trying to keep her balance and her boots are completely spotless. Later when she is tied up on the bed her tank top is also very white and clean.

Continuity: Just after Carly, Scott, Jessie and Chris have left the house in the woods after waking up the Hannibals, the four of them proceed to run up a steep hill. When Carly and Scott begin to climb the hill there is no large tree stump on the ground, yet in all following shots one has appeared to help them climb up.

Continuity: In the opening scene of the film when we see the male climber almost reaching the top of the cliff. If you look on the side of the cliff, there is some kind of metal device/climbing equipment. This object moves between shots from being about two feet away to the right from the male climbers hand, to a few inches when the climber reaches for his last grip on the rockface.

Continuity: Chris walks up to one of the drivers of the truck to ask what's going on, and when the driver speaks to Chris, the distance between the driver's head and his arm, changes between shots.

Continuity: When Rich and Amy are rock climbing, Rich reaches the top and is then killed and blood drops onto Amy's face. It is in droplets, then Amy wipes it, so it smears across her face, then it changes to a droplets again, then to smears, and the location, shape and size of the drop/smears differs too.

Continuity: At the beginning of the film when Chris is on the phone in his car, he loses the signal; watch his hand on the phone, it changes between shots.

Continuity: After the crash the four start walking. While Scott is talking to Carly about eloping, she puts her hands on his shoulders, then puts them down, but in the shots from behind Scott her hands are still on his shoulders. When it cuts back to facing Scott, Carly's hands are down again.

Continuity: Near the end of the film when Chris is hiding underneath the cops' 4x4, we see one of the cannibals lean down to pick up the 4x4's keys off of the floor. He reaches with his left hand, but a shot from underneath the 4x4 shows the cannibal's right hand instead.

Continuity: When Chris is driving towards the shortcut, in one shot Chris is driving towards an opening in the bushes and trees, yet in the following shot, if you look out the windows it's back to bushes and trees, with no openings.

Continuity: Close to the beginning when the guy and girl stay behind at the 4x4, in one shot you can see that the girl has both legs up, in the following shot one is up.

Continuity: When Jessie and Chris are standing by the crash barrier at the edge of a cliff, Scott, with Carly on his back comes running down to the crash barrier. Between shots they reach the crash barrier twice, and Scott steps off a step twice too.

Continuity: When Carly and her boyfriend are walking on the road, they stop to talk, and the other characters continue on. Seconds later Carly and her boyfriend spot a fire at the side of the road, and now they are ahead of the other two characters.

Continuity: Chris and Jesse, and Carly and Scott are walking along and Chris is trying to get a signal on his phone. Then when the shots changes, Jesse and Chris have swapped sides.

Continuity: Close to the beginning when Chris and the others are creeping slowly out of the house in the woods, Chris puts his hand on the door well above the doorknob, yet in the following shot, his hand is below the doorknob.

Continuity: When Chris and the others are inside the house, Chris goes to turn the music off. He turns the music off with his right hand before the gold amplifier, yet in the following shot his hand/arm is over the gold tube coming from the music box to switch it off. (Slow-mo may be required.)

Continuity: Chris Jessie Carly and Scott get to the house in the woods. Just before Chris enters the house, he is holding the bag in his right hand then when he opens the door the bag is now in his left hand.

Continuity: Near the beginning, just after Chris has turned onto the shortcut, in one shot he has his arm outside the car but in the following shot it's inside.

Continuity: When Chris Jessie Carly and Scott are at the Dead End Sign, if you watch Chris, he is looking at Carly and Scott, then looking away then back to looking at Carly and Scott all in continuous shots.

Continuity: When Chris and the others are talking outside the house in the woods, Scott starts talking about West Virginia or something, and in one shot he raises his right hand to his head, and in the following shot he has his left hand to his head.

Continuity: Near the beginning of the film when we see Jessie and Chris standing by the dead end sign, Jessie is standing on the left and Chris on the right. When the shot changes to the side you can see Jessie is now on the right.

Continuity: At the beginning when we see Chris at the gas station, in one of the shots the man sitting in the chair puts his drink to his mouth, yet in the following shot we see him getting to his feet.

Continuity: At the beginning of the film when we see Chris waiting in traffic, in one shot you can see his hand on the steering wheel. In the following shot it's not.

Continuity: Close to the beginning after Chris crashes into the 4x4, he gets out of the car, and says sorry, and puts his left hand up, but in the following shot he has his right hand up, then back to his left.

Continuity: When Jeremy Sisto is separated from his girlfriend as they're walking through the woods, he calls her name several times. His collar goes from turned up to turned down to back up again when she jumps out at him.

Continuity: When Francine gets out of Chris's car, and starts shouting "Evan", between shots she brings her arm down to her side twice.

Visible crew/equipment: When Scott falls after getting hit by the three arrows, you can clearly see a long tube leading all the way up his leg which pumps the fake blood up to his shirt.

Continuity: When Chris, Jessie, Carly and Scott come out from hiding in the house, Scott comes out the door and Carly puts her hand on his hand, but in the following shot Carly's hand is on Scott's wrist.

Continuity: When Chris, Jessie and Carly get the truck stuck in the mud and have to continue on foot, Jessie and Carly sit in front of the truck and talk. In this shot Jessie puts her left hand on Carly's neck, but in the following shot it is no longer there, then the shot after it is back on her neck again.

Continuity: When Carly, Jesse, and Chris are walking through the woods, Carly's make-up and hair are all messed up, while Jesse's hair and make-up are neat, and is not sweaty at all.

Continuity: When Chris, Carly and Jessie are being burned out of the watchtower by the cannibals, Carly breaks a window by throwing a suitcase out of it. When she throws it through, most of the window and window frame smash. Yet in the shot from inside we see the left side of the window intact and the right smashed, a shot from the outside shows most of the window and wooden frames holding the glass in are still there even though we saw most of the glass and frame gone in the shot from inside.

Continuity: When Chris, Jessie, Carly and Scott reach the house, the camera is behind them and Jessie is on Chris's left side, yet from the front Jessie is on Chris's right side.

Continuity: In the middle of the film when we see Chris, Jessie and Carly in the watchtower, the cannibals who are trying to get them pull down on the radio lead, and Jessie and Carly react and step back, when it cuts to Chris, there is a reflection in the glass of the two females with the same reaction.

Factual error: When the fearless trio get into the watchtower, the windows are absolutely spotless. It is very unrealistic that they would be that clean.
