Trivia

In the scene where Bruce switches everything to files, then Post Its, that scene was shot on September 11, 2002. So everyone that worked on the set, all the cast and crew, wrote down something about how they felt about the attacks on a Post-It. Every one of those was in that scene. See more...

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce is at the Buffalo Cookie place, in the beginning of the movie, when the baker is picking his nose Bruce says something about the net he is wearing, the tie goes to the side. But the next shot it is in front.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce is doing his cookie story and he is running through the line of children pouring milk, the jug he is pouring it from somehow keeps refilling itself from shot to shot.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": On the DVD, in the scene where Jim Carrey finds a picture of his girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston), and holds it out of her reach, you can see that parts of the photo are blacked out, presumably to protect the identity of the person in the photo?

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce tries to keep Grace's perky picture out of her reach he holds the picture up over his head. When the camera angle changes the hand with the picture is on his chest.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the scene toward the beginning where Bruce is doing the cookie line in the mirror, Sam is in the other room peeing on the couch. When the shot changes to Sam, look to the far right and you can see a finger pointing to where the dog should be looking. The dog even appears to be looking straight in that direction.

Mistake Continuity: When Grace and Bruce are talking in the car outside her work, a woman with a blue or purple shirt with clouds on it walks past with a woman. The shot cuts to Bruce, then back to Grace and the woman walks past again but this time with a man.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce drops Grace off at the kindergarten she gives him a bracelet with prayer beads. He takes it with the tied end in his palm, but when the camera angle changes the tied end is outside over his thumb.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce talks to his boss, after the boss buys a sandwich, Bruce's shirt collar is tucked under his jacket. However, in the next shot the collar is straight.

Mistake Factual error: In the Maid Of The Mist Scene where Bruce is talking on the phone with Grace in front of the boat, this is an impossible shot because the entrance to the Maid of the Mist is farther than that from the actual waterfall.

Mistake Revealing: When Bruce is doing his live report after going on air, he has a very shocked expression. But when we look at the live screens (in the studio), they show footage of him smiling earlier.

Mistake Continuity: In the "Maid of the Mist" scene, after Bruce yanks off the umbrella hat thing in anger, his hair is all mussed and wet. A shot or two later, it is neatly combed down, although he clearly had no time to do so.

Mistake Revealing: When Grace is watching Bruce's report at the Niagara Falls, it is obvious that the picture has been dubbed onto the TV because there is no reflection of light.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce is fired the security throw him out and a box with his stuff after him. The camera cuts to a close-up of his head next to a photograph of Walter Cronkite. Then there is a wider shot of him slowly getting up, and his stuff is scattered around much more and the photograph is gone.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Bruce complains about his mediocre life Grace's hair gets tucked behind her hair without her touching it.

Mistake Revealing: In the scene with the accident, the car already has bumper damage just before it hits the pole.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Bruce is about to crash into the pole with his car, in the shot that was taken of the car's hood, you can see that there is a bench that is behind the pole. But when it goes to the shot where the sign truck drives by, the bench is several yards from the pole.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce hit the lamppost the smoke from his car went upwards. When the truck goes past there is only a little bit of smoke and it is much lower.

Mistake Continuity: When the pager goes off the first time Bruce takes it out, holding it in his hand. When the camera angle changes he is holding it by the edge.

Mistake Continuity: When Bruce has just smashed his car into the pole, he throws the prayer beads into the water and says, "The gloves are off, Pal," which is confirmed in the subtitles. Yet when God reads back what Bruce said from his file cabinet, God reads, "The gloves are off, God."

Mistake Continuity: When God pages Bruce, Bruce says, "Hello 776-2323", only the number on the pager says 555-0123. Originally, the number on the pager was 776-2323. However, this caused a few problems (people with that number got calls), so it was changed, but without the appropriate voiceover. This is only the case on some DVDs - it's been changed completely on others.
