The monkey that Jim Carrey makes come out of the one guy's butt is the monkey from Ace Ventura, Spike.
In the scene where Bruce switches everything to files, then Post Its, that scene was shot on September 11, 2002. So everyone that worked on the set, all the cast and crew, wrote down something about how they felt about the attacks on a Post-It. Every one of those was in that scene.
There was an Englishman who has the same phone number as God in the movie. After the film was released, he recieved hundreds of calls everyday because people thought the number was for God! This also happened in the U.S. to several people.
The telephone number that "God" pages Bruce with (only in the original cinema release - it was changed for the DVD) was a real number in a few different parts of the US - a few businesses and one residential (known of to date). It was also valid in Manchester, UK.
Towards the end of the movie when Bruce and God are mopping the floor, God says "Alrighty then," one of Jim Carrey's (Bruce) signature lines from his "Ace Ventura" films, also directed by the director of "Bruce Almighty."
Jennifer Aniston's character was not originally a preschool teacher. Jim Carrey requested that the script be changed because his real-life girlfriend at the time was a preschool teacher.
The classroom that Grace is in when she is watching Bruce's report was also used in Liar Liar as Max's classroom that opened the film.
At the party where Bruce ends up kissing a woman, check out what he's leaning on: a golden calf. The golden calf in the Bible was the object the Israelites worshiped in Mount Sinai while Moses went up to receive the Ten Commandments and the Law from God.
When Bruce is in traffic in his new car he parts the cars and screams "Hi Ho Silver Away....". He said the same thing in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls when they went to a projection room and he put the Lone Ranger Mask on the councillor.
Notice how Bruce's girlfriend is called Grace- there are many biblical references which talk about "By the grace of God."
During a deleted scene (Jack meets Anita) on the American DVD (and possibly in an earlier part of the film) the sign above Anita's Diner reads, "Try the Sole." This is a nice little joke playing on words kind of like the Homeless Man's signs.
UK DVD: Because they had to change the number that beeped Bruce's pager, when he says 'Hello 555 0123' when he is woken up by the beeper it is not Jim Carrey's voice and has been overdubbed.
At the party in honor of Bruce becoming a news anchor, look closely as he's walking up the stairs, he really is pouring water into wine. This is loosely based on John 2:1-10, where Jesus ordered the servants in a wedding to pour water into jars, so the water can turn into wine.
Towards the end of the movie when Bruce is walking through the burning town, if you look closely at the town, it is Hill Valley, the town in Back to the Future, complete with clock tower.
The billboard picture of Jim Carrey as "Mr. Exclusive" is the same picture from the Liar, Liar poster.
