Anger Management (2003) - 51 mistakes

Continuity: In the beginning of the film, it shows Dave as a child and according to the film it is Brooklyn 1978. Dave is wearing a Dukes of Hazzard t-shirt, but that show didn't debut untill 1979.

Factual error: At the beginning when Dave's boss hangs up on him Dave's mobile phone produces a dial tone. Mobile phones don't have that feature.

Continuity: At the beginning of the movie when Adam Sandler is about to get on the plane they do a couple of close ups of his face. Whenever they cut to something else and then come back to his face his sideburns are shorter. This happens a couple of times in this scene.

Continuity: The cabin of the airplane is that of a 767. The shot of a flying plane that comes between pre and post take-off scenes is of a 737.

Continuity: When Dave boards the plane the way his lapel is crumpled under the strap of his bag changes several times from shot to shot.

Continuity: When Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson are on the plane, they are watching the movie Tomcats, and the movie keeps jumping back and forth out of order.

Continuity: After his first court case Dave goes to the Community Center where Buddy does anger treatment. When he picks up one of Buddy's books from a table there are some wooden chairs scattered in the background. In the next shot we see him from an upstairs landing, and there is now one wooden chair with its back directly at the table, and one white plastic chair where the wooden chairs were before.

Continuity: After the first court case Dave walks upstairs to meet Buddy. When he comes through the door he is holding his verdict papers in his hand, which he didn't have with him when he was downstairs.

Continuity: When Dave approaches Buddy in the Community Center there's a white painted brick wall in the background. When the camera angle changes the wall is covered with a colorful carpet.

Continuity: When David is at his first anger management meeting, Lou is wearing a black shirt that sometimes covers his stomach and sometimes does not, riding up and down depending on the shot.

Continuity: When Stacy tells her story in the first fury fighters' meeting, her hair changes several times between covering her medallion and not covering it.

Continuity: When Chuck is assigned as Dave's anger ally he puts his hand on Dave's shoulder from the side. When the camera shows them from behind his hand is on the back of Dave's shoulder.

Continuity: After the first fury fighters' meeting Buddy declares Chuck as Dave's anger ally. Chuck wants to give Dave his phone number, pulls out a letter to his father he had started, puts it back in the pocket, then takes out a smaller piece of paper with the number. Then he walks off with both hands empty, but when the camera angle changes he is seen waving back with a piece of paper which, sizewise, looks very much like the one he had given to Dave.

Continuity: When Dave and Linda talk at Dave's apartment about Andrew's 'thing' Linda puts her bag on the kitchen table. When she puts her jacket on top the bag is turned by 90 degrees.

Continuity: In the restaurant, before they get into the fight with the bald guy and the blind man, when they are sitting down, you see the same lady in a black miniskirt walk past John Turturro twice.

Continuity: In the scene with Dave and Chuck at the bar, when the camera is on Chuck before he picks up the fight, we twice see the arm of the same person opening the door and holding it open without walking in. (The black and white sleeve has a strange resemblance with Lou's from the fury fighters' meeting scene, and it looks a bit as if he opened the door but realized that he had no business being on the set.)

Continuity: In the night after the first fury fighters' meeting Dave and Chuck sit in a bar. When Dave says that he wants to go back Chuck's cigarette is in his mouth. When the camera angle changes it's in his hand. A little later, when Chuck memorizes the chicks in the war frying his banana the hand with the cigarette changes from hanging down to pointing up in mid-sentence.

Plot hole: Just how can you get a famous author, a judge, and a flight attendant set-up Adam Sandler in such a scheme? A judge cannot use a courtroom (along with bailiffs during regular business hours) to pull off such a scam. Moreover, when he was arrested for the fight in the bar, there is no guarantee he would have been brought up before the same judge. Also when explaining to his boss about not getting a second flight in the beginning, Adam Sandler says that the plane had been turned around because of his behaviour. Show me an airline that's willing to do that for a scam.

Plot hole: Near the end where Adam Sandler's girlfriend tells him that the anger management was a set up, Sandler asks about the air stewardess incident and she says that it was all a set up, however, the cocktail waitress incident isn't mentioned and surely his girlfriend couldn't have arranged that, therefore it was in fact a coincidence that everything worked out in the end.

Continuity: When Buddy stays over night at Dave's place the first time Dave ends up sleeping on the floor with his teddy in his arm. When Buddy wakes him up and takes a picture the right arm of the teddy points into different directions from shot to shot.
