Trivia

When the film was released during the war with Iraq, the poster of the film was edited by airbrushing the peace sign that Amanda Bynes made. This was done by Warner Bros. so no one will think that the poster is a war protest, or make it seem that the studio is against the war. See more...

Mistake Continuity: When Daphne goes into the Hotel in London, she walks through the door and loosens the scarf around her neck. When she turns around to look at Ian, her scarf is tightened around her neck again.

Mistake Continuity: When Daphne and Ian are shopping in London on their first date, they go into a shop with sari's. Daphne is wearing a black blazer jacket when she goes into the change room but when she comes out with a sari on over her jeans, she does not have it on. Then Daphne and Ian leave the shop without it and Daphne does not wear it for the rest of the date, nor carry it about.

Mistake Continuity: During Peach and Pear's ball, when Daphne walks down the steps while the photographers take pictures of her, Glynnis and Clarissa see her and Glynnis says "What has she done to that dress?" and Clarissa says "Let's Go", they turn around and walk away, while when they turn the camera to Daphne, if you look at the bottom of the screen, you see Glynnis's back dress and Clarissa's purple dress turning and walking away.

Mistake Continuity: When Daphne is playing with the dog, in one shot her hair is out, then the camera goes to the princess, then back to Daphne and her hair is tucked behind her ear. She's holding the dog so she wouldn't have enough time to push it back without us seeing her hands move to hold the dog properly again.

Mistake Continuity: Daphne has just arrived at Dashwood Manor. When she goes to climb up the wall, she is holding a book in her hand. In the next shot it's gone.

Mistake Continuity: When Daphne and Henry are doing the synchronized breakfast thing, Glynnis answers the phone and removes her left earring. However when see puts the phone down, after just telling Henry that he's got to go out now, the earrings have switched places as now the right earring is missing and the left is in place.

Mistake Plot hole: When Daphne enters the fashion show by mistake, a guy in the audience says ' She can dump tea in my harbor anytime.' He couldn't know she's an American, she hasn't met him or spoken.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Daphne and Ian are just out to have fun her bra strap shows and then we cut to Ian then when the camera comes back to her it is no longer there.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Daphne says she can change she takes off her black nail polish with a Q-tip then she takes her earrings out. When she takes her earrings out you can see that her nails are still painted with black nail polish even though she just removed it.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene at the end where Henry steps down from the PM election, we see the back of Clarissa's head as she walks in. She's wearing her hair pulled back in a rectangular barrette. A few shots later, when Henry punches out Alistair for lying to him about Daphne, Clarissa leans down to check on him. Suddenly she's wearing an oval barrette.

Mistake Factual error: During any British election, the Queen avoids making public appearances in order to avoid influencing the election turnout. She usually stays at Windsor castle and would not have hosted such events as the garden party.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Amanda Bynes and Ian are on the boat, if you look closely, her knot on her Indian dress keeps switching from side to side.

Mistake Other: In the scene where the photos of Daphne are flashing by, you see her in a photograph which was supposedly taken at the Chelsea Charity Auction. In the caption, "auction" is spelled incorrectly.

Mistake Continuity: In the scene where Daphne is dressing for the Queen's garden party & goes to put on her black high-heels, she has a boot on one foot, bangles on her arm and black fingernail polish on her hand. Daphne had already removed the polish and put away her American clothes in a prior scene about the changes she makes to be a Dashwood.

Mistake Continuity: In the synchronized breakfast scene, when Amanda takes the bite out of her toast, it is in the top corner of the bread where the crusts come together. In subsequent shots, the bite shifts position to the FOLDED part of the bread.

Mistake Continuity: When Libby is leaving Dashwood Manor at the beginning of the film, her things are put into a trunk, and you can see the tag number. When the car is shown leaving however, it has a different tag number.

Mistake Continuity: When Daphne and her dad are dancing at the wedding, the camera angle from the front shows her resting her head on his left shoulder. The camera angle changes and her head is now on the other shoulder. Happens about 3 times during the entire scene.

Mistake Continuity: During Daphne's first kiss with Ian, the camera angle from the front shows her hair tucked behind her ear, but the camera angle from the rear doesn't. Happens about 3 times during the scene.

Mistake Continuity: When Libby tells the story of how she met Henry, you see her falling down a hill. Her guitar is rolling really hard. However, in the next shot it's just gliding gently down the hill.

Mistake Factual error: When Henry is showing Daphne the portraits of her ancestors, he indicates that Field Marshall Dashwood lost an arm at the Battle of the Nile.....interesting, because the Nile was a naval battle, and the field Marshall was in the army.
