Revealing: In the "Players Party," as Mays Gilliam is giving a speech, behind him is an extra mouthing his lines.
Movie news
Great sites
Continuity: In the part of the film where Mays Gilliam is promoting himself during the wrestling event, in the background you can see posters of him and his brother back to back. How can this be? He hasn't chosen his brother as vice-president yet.
Revealing: In the shot where Mays Gilliam and the lady are running from the house that is about to be blown up, it is obvious that he is carrying a stuffed cat.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Mays Gilliam is walking in the rain after finding out he no longer has a job, it is so sunny, that you can actually see the rain-making machine in one of the shots. It looks like a windmill spraying water and its shadow is reflected on a roof of a building.
Continuity: When Mays Gilliam goes to Chicago can sees Mitch for the first time in the movie, they sit on the couch. You can clearly see Gilliam undo his tie in the first shot and then in every shot after that his tie is done. This is before he makes this great speech.
Continuity: While on the bus, you can see the landscape in the background change from shot to shot all along.
Deliberate "mistake": Mays Gilliam and the girl is standing and are about to kiss someone suddenly shouts, "Freeze." They are now totally surrounded by cars and armed policemen. Wouldn't Gilliam and the girl notice them arriving before they were about to kiss and before the man shouted?
Continuity: When Mays picks up Lisa in the campaign bus, they are seen driving down the road and you can see the front of Lisa's red shirt that she is wearing under her coat. The camera angle changes and her jacket is now buttoned up in the front and you can no longer see the front of her shirt.
Revealing: When Gilliam is done with his Chicago speech you see him running down the stairs with photographers everywhere clicking pictures. Notice one of the photographers pointing his camera almost straight up while Gilliam already has run down the stairs.
Revealing: Within the various shots of the Campaign Bus, there's one of the side of the bus with the sun shining perfectly on it, so you can see through the tinted windows. Rather than it having walls, TVs and the stuff it shows on the inside of the bus, you can easily see the bus is empty and you can also see the seats of the bus arranged in a normal manner.
Continuity: When Mays is being told that they want him to run for President, the advisor is standing next to him with both hands on the chair. The camera angle changes and he now has only one hand on the chair.
Deliberate "mistake": When the Mayor bought Mays's car from the auction, the car still had the same tags that Mays had on it. The tags should have been changed.
