Plot hole: After Kimberly has the vision of the pile-up, she pulls her car across the on-ramp. She is still behind the concrete separator, so how did the truck actually hit her car later on? There was no evidence that the concrete was ever there. The truck got her cleanly.

Trivia
At the beginning, in the scene in Kim's bedroom, the plane on her bed side table is the same one from Alex's bedroom in the first Final Destination. See more...
Final Destination 2 (2003) - 68 mistakes
Directed by David R. Ellis, starring A.J. Cook, Ali Larter, Tony Todd (add more)
Continuity: When the lottery winner is going to die, the beer bottle he takes out of the fridge moves all over the place. It even vanishes a couple of times.
Factual error: In the final scene where the gas grill blows up, the arm that falls to the table in front of the mother is not from a teenager - it is nearly twice as large as the young man's arms (as previously seen in multiple scenes). Some people say it's a leg, but if that's so it's a bit odd having fingers on the right side of it...
Revealing: When Rory gets cut into thirds, in the background you can faintly hear someone cheer and say beautiful, perhaps because the stunt went so well.
Factual error: When the camera shows the coffee cup in the cop's car, you can see the ignition is in the off position
Visible crew/equipment: When Timmy gets killed by the falling plate glass watch carefully and you will see the foam representation spring back up.
Revealing: When the officer is looking at the pictures of the Flight 180 survivors and their deaths afterward, notice that Todd is shown still struggling at the ropes and looking into the camera. Apparently the media thought it would be better to take a picture of Todd as he was committing "suicide". A similar incident occurs with the bus accident picture. The girl is obviously splattered in the first movie, but appears to have mostly leg damage in the pics.
Other: When you see Clear take off her wristband in her padded cell she drops it on the floor. If you look very very closely at the date on the top right of the newspaper, it says Friday March 15. If that were the day before it would have been March 14 which would be the exact year after 180 crashed. In the first film in the opening credits, Alex's flight ticket says 13 May.
Factual error: When Kat is driving the survivors and they crash into the field, they slow to a stop while spinning - there is no way the car would travel backwards with the speed that it appears to in the next shot.
Continuity: When Evan comes into the flat and walks towards the window, pay attention to the sink, there is a red cup or something in it. However when his arm gets stuck in it, there is nothing red in the sink, and there was no time for him to take anything out of the sink.
Continuity: In the beginning pileup, when the red SUV starts to flip, the front passenger wheel and suspension are ripped off and go off toward the front of the car. Yet, in the next shot, the car has all four wheels. After it shows the Trans Am going in the ditch, it shows the same shot of the wheel coming off from a different angle.
Plot hole: After Kimberly has the premonition of Dr. Kalarjian wheeling the ECG machine, she doesn't say anything about it to the cop or to Clear. Yet the cop says to her a few seconds later something like- 'Okay, so you saw an ECG machine and what else?'. How did he know if Kimberly never said anything? [NOTE-This is on the DVD under one of the subtitles.]
Continuity: Flight 180 was due on May 13. In FD-2, when the survivors of the car accident are reminiscing how they had managed to cheat death in their past, Kat Jennings says that last May she was supposed to die at some hotel of the gas leak but she didn't get there as the bus she was on hit Terry Chaney. It couldn't happen in May, because Terry was present at the memorial opening which took place 39 days after the air crash. So she couldn't die earlier than in June.
Continuity: During the premonition where the Mustang flips you see 2 major components of the car fly off. First the hatchback then the gas tank. If there is no gas tank, there is no fuel so why does the Mustang explode when the truck hits it?
Revealing: After the logs fall off of the trailer at the start you can see the truck jackknife and behind you just see a car flip on its side and exploding without any obstacles near it.
Continuity: After Clear and Eugene's deaths Kimberley stares out at the lake and the white van outside the hospital, when Tom grabs her and says,'What are you talking about?', she looks over Tom's shoulder and she sees a newspaper report. You see it has two lines for the headline with a blue sheet of paper above it. In the next close up shot of the report it has one line for the headline and the blue paper is lower down.
Factual error: When the surviving state trooper is searching the police database for Alex Browning the search results pop up in a new window although the box that says "Open in new window" is unchecked.
Visible crew/equipment: During the highway pile-up Rory's car barrel rolls in slow motion over an unmanned camera, during this shot you can see the cannon on the bottom of the car used to flip it. Then in the very next shot you see the car barrel roll from a different angle and the unmanned camera from the first shot is visible. It doesn't look like a typical camera, its disguised as debris, but it would not be there had the slow-mo shot not been filmed.
Factual error: The cop has a badge, but New York state police don't wear badges.
Factual error: The truck flatbed that is carrying the logs has a fuel tank attached to its underside. Flatbed trailers do not have these. (It's a fuel tank for enclosed refrigerated trailers.)
Continuity: When all the survivors are leaving the police station, you can see their reflections in the two-way mirror. Before they cut to they mirror, Timmy's mom says, "Let's go" and starts to get up. But in the reflection, she is still sitting. Cut back to them and she is just getting up again. Also in the reflection, the young lady who was on her cell phone in the crash is getting up to leave; then they cut to the group and she is getting up again.
Continuity: When Even is alive, his nipple ring is on his left nipple, but when he is dead tony Todd removes it from the right nipple.
Revealing: During the beginning crash sequence, you can see the tubes that fire a log in order to flip the cars. When the Mustang flips, you can see the flame from the charge in the tube. The red SUV has a visible flip tube as well.
Continuity: At the end of the movie when Eugene and Clear get toasted by the explosion and officer Burke and Kimberly get up her hands are clean and fine but in the next scene she has "Bloody Hands"
Audio problem: When the lottery winner is in his apartment he actually puts his hi-fi into "standby" mode when the music starts. You can tell this because the red standby light comes on at the same time as the blue display goes off.
Continuity: When Kimberly drives up and block the way, to the high-way, she does a 90 degree turn. Yet when their car gets hit by the truck it's turned back again. Now when did that happen?
Revealing: When Kim's in the car explaining her premonition, she turns on the radio and the time is 8:24. When Officer Burke approaches the car, it's only a few minutes later. But later when Officer Burke, Kim, and Clear are checking the tape to identify Isabella's license plate, the time on the tape says 9:12.
Continuity: In the pile-up scene, when Kimberly's car flips over, you can see the rear-left wheel breaking apart, then in a quick shot from a different point of view, it has its four wheels, and the very next shot, the wheel is breaking apart again.
Revealing: When the coffee cup tips over onto Officer Burke's lap, you can see the device that was making it vibrate.
Visible crew/equipment: After Kimberley's premonition she sees the truck zooming past her car and starts yelling. When you see an unusual expression on Sheena's face when the camera view is in the car look closely in the right side mirror you can see a boom mic in the reflection.
Visible crew/equipment: In the car pileup, as soon as Rory's car flips over you can see the device which flips over his car.
Continuity: When Kimberly gets her first premonition her window switches from being up to down between shots.
Continuity: When Kat is calling brain for help when she is trapped in the car, the log is straight, but when he gets to her it is bent.
Visible crew/equipment: At the gas station when the cop is talking, the camera pans by him quickly but for a second you can see the cameraman reflected in a metal part of the gas pump.
Visible crew/equipment: In the highway crash at the beginning you can see one stunt driver wearing a helmet. You can also see, that several cars, that flip over, have a kind of safety cage to protect the driver.
Continuity: During the premonition where the Mustang flips and lands next to the log where the motorcyclist is lying; he is parallel to the road facing oncoming traffic, yet he gets T-boned by the big truck when he should have gotten hit head on.
Continuity: During the premonition where the Mustang flips you can see the left rear wheel center cap disappear and reappear.
Continuity: When Ewan is coming home to his flat, look at the marbles near the toy ambulance. When the camera pans over it and later when Ewan steps on one, their positions are different.
Continuity: When they crash in the SUV, the piece of wood in the car changes in length and shape.
Continuity: When Kimberly is being revived, we are seeing blurry images of the doctor and eventually the heart monitor showing she's flat-lining. What we are seeing is what she is seeing, and since she's flat-lining she wouldn't be able to see anything. She also sees when her heart starts beating again, but when they go back to her, her eyes are closed.
Continuity: When the logs fall off from the truck trailer bed you can see there are no other cars on the highway, apart from the victims', and when it changes to the next shot during the scene there are the same amount of cars on the road as there were before the logs fell off.
Visible crew/equipment: In the pile-up scene when Eugene falls off his bike and crashes into the log you can see what seems to be a crash pad. After he has fallen and hits the log, the bike crashes straight into him. If you look closely just above the log you can see the crash pad.
Revealing: When Evan slips and falls on his back, you can see the 'ground' vibrates right when Evan's body hits it. With that amount of impact, a concrete ground wouldn't visibly vibrate like that. Of course the filmmaker wouldn't let the actor fall on something concrete for safety.
Continuity: Frankie takes the joint from Dano twice.
Visible crew/equipment: When the remaining characters are driving away following the van collision incident, Kimberly is seen to be having a second premonition involving the lake. As she is choking she lets go of the steering wheel, causing the car to swerve violently. In the shot where we see the car front-on, it looks like the cop character was actually a stunt driver in complete control of the van.
Revealing: When Kimberly's car gets flipped around a bunch of times, the dummie's limbs flopping around are quite obvious.
Continuity: Sometime in the middle of FD1 Alex is walking to Clear's house and Clear says "It's almost Autumn." Alex replies "It's only the middle of June." which means that it must be June. But in FD2 when the main characters are in Kat's car talking about cheating death Kat says "Last May I was..." referring to being on the bus that killed Terry Chaney. It was only one day before Terry got hit by a bus when Alex went to Clear's house. So is it in May (like Kat said) or June (like Alex said)?
Visible crew/equipment: At the beginning of the movie, (outside Kimberly's house when she says, "We're gonna go meet the guys") one of the extras in the background (he is clipping the hedges) keeps looking at the camera. [This was pointed out on the DVD].
Continuity: When you see Detective Sueby looking through the glass wall look extremely carefully at Kat's reflection on the glass, she is just about to stand up from her chair. In the very next shot you see that only a second later Kat gets up from her chair a second time.
Continuity: The position of Tim's hands change when he is about to leave the police station.
Revealing: When Rory gets cut in half by the fence in the wide shot(if you look closely)you can see the outline of the green suit he is wearing.
Visible crew/equipment: The camera is visible going through the aquarium in the dentist's office.
Revealing: For a brief moment Tim's body disappears completely from under the glass.
Visible crew/equipment: There is a fluffy mic visible in the car that Kat is driving when it crashes into the haystacks.
Factual error: In the scene with the defibrillator it shows on the trace that her heart rhythm is asystole. Defibrillators only work with shockable rhythms i.e. VF (ventricular fibrilation) or pulseless VT (ventricular tachycardia). Using one on an asystolic patient would have no effect at all.
Continuity: During the premonition when the girl on the chopper shows her boobs, the guy on the left gives the joint to the other one, however in the next shot, he is holding it again.
Deliberate "mistake": When Kimberly is being revived, it's obvious that they are using a defibulator. But when Kimberly finally comes to and is covered by a sheet, you can see she has a bra on. This is impossible to have because you need direct contact with the skin in order for it to work. And the machine would start the heart working if it was lower on her chest.
Continuity: When Kat is trapped in her car by the log, she pulls out a cigarette and starts smoking. When the worker tries to pry off the door, she says "Could you put it on quiet mode?" and turns away, her cigarette looks completely new. But then five seconds later after her airbag goes off and kills her, her hand drops to the side of the car, but her cigarette is considerably shorter (about half it's length) than it was five second ago. Surely she wasn't able to smoke it all in the amount of time that progressed?
Revealing: In the pile-up scene when Kim's car starts to flip, you can see that the driver side window is removed and placed with plastic wrap, probably to protect the driver. This is on the DVD.
Factual error: When Timmy (the kid who gets crushed by the glass slab) is at the dentist, the tube on the water tank comes off and water spurts out. That tube is the water intake, so if it were to break of it would be sucking in air, it would not be spurting water out.
Continuity: After Evan turns on the stove, the camera switches shots and the flame is gone, then the shot switches, and it is back again.
Continuity: At the start when the logs fall off of the truck you see only one chain snap off, before this happens you see that the truck has three chains attached to the trailer.
Continuity: When the dentist starts operating Tim's teeth with the noisy device, the dentist's left hand (holding a dentist's mirror) is on the right side of Tim's face. In another shot, his left hand with the dentist's mirror is on the other side and the position keeps changing between shots.
Revealing: When Nora's son gets killed, we can see the boy under the falling piece of glass. But in the shot where this piece is just about to smash him, you can see on the DVD edition that there is a dummy instead of him because his arms are too long relatively to the whole body and also the hands are obviously not human.
Continuity: At the beginning of the film, when Kimberly has the pile-up premonition, her red truck flips over a few times; watch closely and you will see that in some shots there's no one in it.
Continuity: Look at the newspaper photo of Clear before she committed herself - she has relatively dark hair. Definately not a natural blonde. Yet current Clear has much, much lighter blonde hair. We saw that she was blonde at the end of Final Destination - yet, her darker roots aren't particularly prominent, showing that during her time in the institution she must have bleached her hair at least once. For someone who's paranoid about death, she sure doesn't seem to care about the potentially acidic effect of having peroxide on her head. [Someone asks this in the commentary on the DVD, and the response is "she was a natural blonde, she dyed her hair brown in the first movie." This stands up, as it explains why there were no brown roots at the end of the first movie.]
Continuity: In the first Final Destination movie, a black shadow ("Death)", appears almost in every pre-death scene. But in the second movie, you don't see it once, and seeing as the movies are linked, working on one story line, the shadow should be there in the second movie too.
Revealing: When Tim runs into the pigeons and the glass falls: when it crushes him, you can see the arm bend backwards, same with his hand. When he gets snapped in half, the blood is water with some red food coloring stuff, not real blood. It is obvious that Tim is a rubber dummy.
