Congo (1995) - 43 mistakes

Continuity: As the group enters Zinj, a black man leads. As he walks through a cave, he is holding nothing. In the next shot he has a machete and gun.

Continuity: When Dr. Elliot hugs Amy, after she finsihes painting, the position of Amy's head on his shoulder keeps changing between shots.

Continuity: When Dr. Ross meets her boss at the cart, as they walk towards the large building, the sunlight on the building changes between shots

Continuity: When Homolka is telling Dr. Elliot about not being able to afford the plane fuel, the buckle on his bag strap moves between shots.

Continuity: When the group leaves the African airport in the truck, the hole in the truck roof is closed, then open in one interior shot, then closed again.

Continuity: When the plane is hit by missiles, Munro gives Amy a drugged banana to sedate her. Between shots the length of the banana changes.

Continuity: When the group arrive at the plane, the ground around it differs from wet to dry and the shadows around it also change a few times.

Continuity: When Charles Travis picks up the eyeball as he sits on the steps of Zinj, he changes from holding it in his fingers/on his palm.

Continuity: Nearer the end, sometime during the catastrophe in the mines, Dr. Elliot gains a large bruise on his forehead. This has later completely vanished.

Continuity: When everyone is at the second plane, Munro opens a box which is completely in sunlight. In the next shot it's covered in shadow.

Continuity: After the Travicom boss smashes the TV screen, the right side of the screen is on fire. In the next shot the left side is now the side alight.

Continuity: When the boss says to Dr. Ross "So Where is He!?" [about Charles], his hands go from by his side, to on his golf club between shots.

Continuity: When the first missile hits the plane, Richard holds onto and comforts Amy twice between shots, as the plane begins to rock violently.

Continuity: When Dr. Elliot and the group arrive at the plane, the plane changes position between shots, in relation to the trucks surrounding it.

Revealing: When everyone jumps from the plane, all of the stunt doubles are easily seen - [Dr. Elliot's stunt double is ridiculously easy to spot!]

Continuity: When the group arrive to the plane, in the truck, the people standing around the plane/area changes/disappear etc. between shots.

Continuity: When Dr. Elliot is doing his presentation, there is a large TV on a stand, with a VCR, which suddenly vanishes halfway through.

Continuity: Just before Homolka jumps out of the plane, he puts his right hand on the side of the door and his left hand is holding his bag. In the next shot the hands have reversed roles.

Revealing: When the missile destroys the second airplane after everyone has escaped, the airplane suddenly stops moving forward. In the next shot where we see a close-up of the explosion, it is also stationary against the sky.

Continuity: When Dr. Elliot is faced with the Silverback gorilla, the size of the sweat stain around his collar and shirt changes throughout the scene.

Revealing: When the group are in the mines and there is a cave in, one of the porters is hit on the back by a [fake] rock, which bounces off.

Continuity: When Amy knocks down the satellite equipment she merely bumps it and it falls over. But in the next shot it is completely smashed to pieces.

Revealing: Richard takes a photo of a Silverback Gorilla in the forest, however the shutter is clearly closed as he supposedly takes the photo.

Continuity: When the two Ghost Tribals step out from the bush, the amount of white makeup all over them signifcantly increases between shots.

Continuity: When Dr. Ross is transmitting to Houston, she is holding her headset, but on the video screen in Houston, she isn't holding it anymore.

Continuity: When Munro talks to Homolka at the campsite, about Dr. Ross, Homolka's cigarette jumps from his mouth to his hand between shots.

Continuity: When the group are sitting with the General, the bites in Homolka's sesame cake change size and (dis)appear between shots.

Continuity: After the President's car explodes, the cart that Dr. Elliot and the others ride in suddenly moves closer to the explosion between shots.

Continuity: When Dr. Ross finds the dead people on the trasmission video, in the video there's a thick fog floating, but in real shots, no fog is there.

Continuity: After the President's car explodes on the runway, there's a shot of guards running over to it. In the wideshot these guards have vanished.

Audio problem: When Charles Travis meets Jeffrey by the river bank, Jeffrey is heard speaking but his mouth doesn't match what he says.

Continuity: When Dr. Elliot's plane lands at the African runway, the baggage hatch is seen opening twice between shots as they exit the plane.

Visible crew/equipment: When Munro Kelly opens his jeep door on the African runway, a crew-member can be seen reflected in the window.

Continuity: Near the beginning the huge headquarters for the corporation that Dr. Ross works for is shown located in Houston. In shots you can see mountains, but the problem is that there aren't any mountains in Houston.

Continuity: When the lava erupts out of the mine, it hits some gorillas. In the next shot, the lava covers the same stretch and hits the same gorillas.

Visible crew/equipment: As the team walks through the ruins, a flock of birds bursts out of a bush. You can see a persons arm shooing them out.

Continuity: When Munro and Dr. Ross talk to the borders cheif, the same people can be seen walking past the window behind him, multiple times.

Continuity: When Homolka stands by the plane, while Munro talks to him, Homolka's arm moves from being in view, to suddenly hidden behind the door.

Revealing: In the shot of a cargo box falling from the plane, a shadow from the plane is cast on the trees below, but the cargo box doesn't cast one.

Visible crew/equipment: When the first missile is shot at the plane, as the plane rocks, in one shot you can see a tape mark at Dr. Elliot's feet.

Continuity: When Charles Travis sits on the steps of Zinj, waiting for Jeffrey to get his bag, there are branches to his right, which keep disappearing.

Continuity: Bodies are left in the mines, for example, Homolka's, yet when the lava flows through, the bodies have vanished.

Continuity: When Amy gives Dr. Elliot the yellow bunch of flowers, during the presentation, they change position between shots.
