Continuity: In the beginning scene where Sandra Bullock is lying down to block the destruction of the building the crane operator is wearing shorts. When there is a close-up of his lower leg and foot pushing on the gas, you see long jeans. This goes back and forth several times.

Trivia
In the trailers (on the radio in the UK, anyway), there's a bit with Hugh Grant saying something like "This is no job for a grown up - drinking without being responsible...actually, it doesn't sound that bad". This was never in the finished film. See more...

These mistakes are currently being ordered by time. Entries without times will appear at the end.
Directed by Marc Lawrence, starring Alicia Witt, David Haig, Hugh Grant, Sandra Bullock (add more)
Continuity: When Lucy and her two friends lay down in protest Lucy shouts 'We prevailed!' because the bulldozer stopped. As she says this her bag is laying on her chest, but in the next wide shot of her, her bag is to her side.
Continuity: When Lucy and her friends protest against the demolition of a building they lay down on the ground. When they get up they their clothes are still clean, but when they get out of jail Lucy is covered with white dust, even more when she gets home.
Continuity: When Lucy and her parents are talking on the street, Lucy says "Wait a minute, our community centre! My community centre!" When and after she says this, the Forbes magazine she has goes from being under her arm, to in her left hand, then into her right hand between shots.
Continuity: At the very beginning, when Lucy and her two friends are lying on the street in protest, in close-up shots, the sun casts no shadows behind their heads. In a wider shot, there are very distinct shadows.
Continuity: The lipstick on Hugh Grant's cheek in his first scene changes from light, to dark, to light again.
Continuity: There is a shot of a limo pulling up in front of Howard's house that is used twice in the course of the film.
Continuity: When Elaine greets George after his return from the party, her scarf moves in every shot. Sometimes, it completely covers her right shoulder, sometimes it doesn't.
Continuity: When Lucy meets George for the first time she is wearing a transparent blouse which is tied with a string at the neck. While they talk outside the blouse is closed and the knot is in the middle, but when she enters his car the blouse is open and the knot is shifted to the left. A similar thing happens in the following scene when she is sitting on a railing, looking at the community center, and her blouse closes between shots.
Continuity: When Lucy sits on the railing and looks at the community centre, her hair alternates from being behind her shoulder to over it then back to behind it again between shots.
Continuity: When Lucy is eating outside with her parents, in the background a man in a blue shirt walking a dalmation passes them twice.
Continuity: When George calls Lucy from a bar at night his glass is totally empty. In the next shot it's one quarter full and he takes a sip.
Revealing: During the divorce hearing George's ex-wife throws water at Lucy. She seems to miss as you don't see any water on Lucy, but Lucy turns around and starts dabbing herself frantically.
Continuity: In the scene where Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant are on the street and he's buying a hot dog Sandra's collar on her right side changes positions several times.
Audio problem: At the divorce hearing, Lucy gets water thrown at her and turns around stating repeatedly, "Water up my nose.". When she says that, her mouth/jaw doesn't move at all. That is not due to her being turned away from the camera, as just after, while she says something else, her mouth/jaw *can* be seen moving.
Continuity: When Sandra is helping Hugh shop for clothes, she has clothes draped over her left arm while trying to fix the mannequin she has broken. She gets frustrated by what Hugh says and stalks out of the store. The clothing she had been holding is gone; we never see her drop or throw the pieces down.
Continuity: During the scene where George and Lucy are in the store buying clothes, George puts a red shirt on top of the stack in Lucy's hands. After Lucy breaks the mannequin the red shirt disappears and reappears again between shots.
Continuity: When Lucy is pushing the elevator button to George's penthouse in her bridesmaid dress, she's wearing only one glove. When she's in his closet helping him pick out clothes and giving her 'two weeks notice', she's still only wearing one glove, but now it's on the other hand.
Continuity: After Lucy helps George to select a suit he sits down in a chair with the suit over the backrest. In two close-ups the chair is placed in a niche, while in all wide shots the chair is placed at the corner of this niche.
Continuity: When Lucy is sitting on the couch prior to spitting her gum on the floor, in one shot both her hands are together on her lap, then when the shot changes, one arm is on the edge of the couch and she has her head resting on it, the other hand still on her lap.
