When Cher is walking down the stairs in her white dress to meet Christian, and Josh gets dazzled by her beauty, you see Christian talking to Josh and Cher's dad, and there is no way (from that angle) that Josh could have seen Cher until she reached the bottom of the stairs, but it shows him staring before she even gets to the landing. [When they show the stairs from where Josh is sitting, he can see the bottom half of the stairway. He can easily see her before she reaches the bottom.] Corrected by reneefkClueless (1995) - 27 corrections

The order in which Cher and Dionne stand in the tennis line changes three times. [They are in the same order the entire time. There are two girls ahead of them at one point that you don't see later, but they could have moved up to take their turn.] Corrected by reneefk
When Christian comes to Cher's house and says that something is burning, Cher grabs a pot holder off the counter and to get the cookie sheet out of the oven. But when she grabs the pan, four of her fingers hang over the pot holder and touch the 'hot' pan and rack. [Cher pulls the pan and rack out at the same time. You can see that the pot holder is folded in half with part of it being on top and the rest underneath, between her fingers and the rack.] Corrected by reneefk
On her first day when Cher and Di are showing Tai around, Cher points out Elton to Tai, but the very next day when Cher decides to set Tai up with him, Tai asks 'Who's Elton?' It's unlikely she would have just forgotten in one day, especially since he was pretty much the only guy whose name was mentioned to her. [Maybe there were more boys named mentioned to her that we just did not see her hear. She met a lot of people in each of her classes. Therefore, she was probably still getting everyone's name straight. And Tai could have also been asking Who Elton is in terms of his social standing, etc, not him as the actual person that was mentioned to her.]
When Ty first gets to school and Cher and Dionne call her over during gym, Ty says she could use a 'herbal refreshment' and Cher says that they don't have tea, but they do have coke. Later when Ty is in the cafeteria talking to Travis there is tea behind them. [Maybe Cher did not know her school had tea because she never drank it. A character's mistake isn't a movie mistake.]
Christian is supposed to spend one semester at one parent's place in Chicago, one semester in Beverly Hills. It's clear that the movie takes place over a school year (meaning not one spring semester to the following fall): they are shown constantly as being in classes and at school (and no mention is made that it might be summer school), there are no plotlines involving summer vacation, etc. So the "other semester," when Christian comes back, has to be the winter (aka spring), not the fall. But the day (and other immediately following) he comes back to school, everyone is wearing summer-like outfits: little jackets, short sleeves, lots of exposed skin (not just Cher, who has her reasons for wearing skimpy clothes). Since the movie is filmed and set in Los Angeles, everyone writing the film would know that, contrary to popular belief, it does actually get cold in Los Angeles in the winter. January and February's average lows are 49 degrees; no way all those kids would be dressed that skimpily with the temps in the 40s and 50s. [I live in LA. It's pretty common for students to dress that way in the winter.] Corrected by CocoCami
Cher and Dion are walking down the hall at school, talking on their cell phones. They shut off the phones, and Cher smacks her antenna down; it breaks. You can see it at an odd angle just after. [This isn't really a mistake, it actually goes perfectly with the character: Cher can afford to break her phone as she's got enough money to buy a new one later.]
When Cher and Tai are smoking pot with Travis at the party, it's obvious that Cher is faking it, because the tip of the joint never glows. Tai, on the other hand, smokes it for real. [All of which sounds exactly in line with the characters and the story.] Corrected by tw_stuart
Cher says she doesn't drink coffee but in a scene before hand she has a Starbucks coffee cup on her desk. [Starbucks serves non-coffee drinks, such as hot chocolate and juice.] Corrected by CocoCami
When Tai arrives on her first day and Amber laughs at her clothes there are two girls standing to Cher's right laughing. When Cher calls Tai over to her they have disappeared. There is no way they could have walked off without passing in front of Cher, in which case they would have been visible in shot. [In the shot where Ty is talking to them you can see there is a door where the two girls could have walked out of.]
When they are in the club, after Ty falls down the stairs, she ties her overshirt around her waist, in the next shot she isn't wearing it at all, then in the next shot she is wearing it over her shoulders, and a minute later it is back around her waist. [It's supposed to be obvious - it's showing how she's changing the shirt with hopes of getting someone to pay attention to her. In essence its a commonly used film technique to show that time has passed between shots.] Corrected by CocoCami
In the scene where Cher & Christian are in the mall shopping, Christian pulls a leather jacket out of a shopping bag. He holds it up and asks: "James Dean or Jason Priestly?". Just then he hears Ty screaming in fear, as she is being held over the railing by two hooligans. Christian then throws down his jacket to go help Ty. After the incident, when they are all leaving the mall, Cher goes over to pick up their bag of purchases. She picks up Christian's bag, which now has the leather jacket back inside. But he didn't have time to put it back in the bag during the commotion. [Cher easily could have put it back in the bag herself.]
When Cher shows her father her improved report card, Dan Hedaya says, "I couldn't be happier than if they were based on real grades." This is grammatically incorrect relative to what he means. He means that he couldn't be happier even if they were based on real grades. By saying "than" he is effectively saying that the thing that would make him happiest would be if the report card were based on actual grades, which was not the intention. [My dad says grammatically incorrect things all the time. Whether it was intentional or not, a character is allowed to make grammar errors. A character's mistake is not a movie mistake.]
In one scene, Josh and Cher are watching Ren & Stimpy. At the very beginning, Stimpy says "Ren, don't stay in the sun too long, you know how fast you burn." Now Josh and Cher talk and play around to the end of the scene which was about 5 minutes, and then you see Ren saying "Be quiet, you idiot!" There was about a 5 minute span before Stimpy's line and Ren's line, although in the actual episode Ren said "Be quiet, you idiot!" right after what Stimpy said. This mistake for was anyone who watched Ren & Stimpy a lot. [Actually, anyone who watches Ren & Stimpty alot knows that Ren says, "Be quiet, you idiot" quite a bit in every show. It is possible that Ren's remark was made AGAIN in the same episode.]
When Cher is going to the party with Christian she has a silver pin on her dress, yet earlier in the night when Christian picked her up she had no pin on her dress. [It was the barrette from her hair.] Corrected by MoonFaery
When Cher is robbed she has to call someone for a ride because Elton left her, but she says that she couldn't call Dionne because she didn't know the number of the party. Dionne had a cell phone with her because she was going to call Murry's mother - why couldn't Cher just call her cell phone? [Because she didn't know Dionne's cell phone number off by heart - she had the number on her own cell phone, but that had been stolen.]
On the back of the Clueless movie box, it says that it is "not easy being the most popular girl at Beverly Hills High..." but Cher goes to Bronson Alcott High School in the movie. The name is said and there are also a couple of scenes where you can see the initials BAH - most noticeably on the sweater of the gym teacher when Cher is trying to get her grade changed. [On the back of the box, it's simply exaggerating the point that Cher lives in Beverly Hills and is a rich girl.]
In the closing credits, Dan Hedaya's character (Cher's dad) is listed as Mel Hamilton. However, Cher's last name is clearly Horowitz, as stated by Mr. Hall when he announces the number of tardies each student has. It's understandable for a child to have a different last name than her mother if the mother has remarried, but the child's name shouldn't change from the father's. [There are no strict rules about surnames these days - especially in LA. Cher's mother could have decided to keep her maiden name and may have preferred her daughter to have the same name.]
During the Val party, Dion's boyfriend Murray shaves his head. Later when he is teaching Dion to drive he has a hat on, but you can see his the back of his head, which has all sorts of hair. Every scene that follows he's wearing a hat, except at the wedding at the end, he's back to a shaved head. [The movie takes place throughout a school year. Months may have passed between the time that Murray shaves his head at the party and when he's teaching Dionne how to drive, and at the wedding he could have just decided to shave it again. ]
When Cher is robbed and she calls her brother on a payphone, she doesn't put any money in. [She could have used a calling card, as long as she knew her PIN code without having the card on her.] Corrected by DavidK93
