Mistake Revealing: When the UFO makes the huge flash that knocks everyone in the cemetery down, one of the police officers kicks a tombstone as he falls and it wobbles back and forth.

Mistake Continuity: When the men first enter the spaceship, one of the windows shows an afternoon sky and the one next to it shows a nighttime sky.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the pilots are driving the plane and a spaceship pass them you can see a shadow of a microphone.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Eros shows the men the monitor, look at the monitor carefully and you can see the reflection of the studio lights.

Mistake Continuity: When the police are driving to the cemetery, it is daytime and their car is a standard police car with lights and sirens. When they reach the cemetery, it is night and the car is an ordinary car, without lights and sirens, and a different colour.

Mistake Revealing: Jeff Trent, Col. Edwards and Lt. Harper grab some guns and take a walk in the graveyard, and a prop tree almost falls over as Col. Edwards walks by and brushes up against it with his shoulder.

Mistake Audio problem: In the graveyard, as Paula screams when Tor Johnson opens the car door, her mouth is not moving in sync with what we are hearing.

Mistake Continuity: A man at the old man's funeral says "It's getting dark out." It's already pitch black out.

Mistake Other: The exhaust of the space ship is so strong that it knocks down Jeff and Paula to the ground, but their hair doesn't get changed at all.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When Colonel Edwards enters the General's office, the moving boom mic is visible at the top of the screen.

Mistake Audio problem: After Tor Johnson drops her, Paula says, "Oh, I'll be alright" but her lips don't move.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Col. Tom Edwards makes "The greatest decision of his career" in front of a clear sky, and you can see his shadow fall on the fabric covered wall behind him.

Mistake Plot hole: Eros makes it very clear that his race does not 'cling to life.' If this is the case, then why is he so determined to save everybody?

Mistake Revealing: After Tor Johnson drops Paula the police officer comes over to try to wake her. The carpet that's supposed to be the ground crumples under his feet.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": They keep using the same footage of Bela Lugosi walking in the cemetery, even the cars driving by out on the road are the same.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": At Tor Johnson's funeral how on earth could they not see Vampira standing right next to them?

Mistake Revealing: When the flying saucers leave the planet, you can see their shadows on the fake planet's surface.

Mistake Audio problem: The stewardess comes into the cockpit and the co-pilot says, "Well, I know a friend that will help us". If you look closely, he was going to say more but it was edited out.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": When the pilots are flying in the airplane there's a strange device above the co-pilots head. Later in the movie we see this same prop used again inside of the spaceship as the alien beauty Tanna opens up the hatch.

Mistake Continuity: The co-pilot radios in to Burbank tower in the middle of the night. In the next shot we see the saucer and it's broad daylight.

Mistake Continuity: When the flying saucers are spotted over Wash DC, the scene shows a rotating radar antenna. First it's rotating counter-clockwise, then in a subsequent scene it's rotating clockwise.

Mistake Revealing: After Clay finally has been killed, you can still see him breathing, and even blinking his eyes.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Why does the wife of the old man have vampire clothes and long nails?

Mistake Continuity: During Criswell's opening narration, the time of the story changes from taking place in the future ("Future events such as these will affect you in the future.") to taking place in the past ("what happened on that fateful day...").

Mistake Continuity: When the flying saucer is seen taking off from the cemetery, it is saucer shaped. However, when it is on the ground the ship appears to be in the shape of a square building.

Mistake Continuity: As he interviews Col. Edwards, General Roberts' clock moves 20 minutes throughout the scene yet only 2 minuets of movie time elapse.

Mistake Continuity: The soldier talking to Col. Tom Edwards is holding a walkie-talkie in some shots and not in others.

Mistake Continuity: The stewardess comes into the cockpit and holds the clipboard between her folded hands. In the next shot she's holding it with her left hand.

Mistake Continuity: A crew member's shadow can be seen moving across the graveyard set as two men carry one of the dead bodies on a stretcher in front of the two policemen.

Mistake Continuity: Tor Johnson walks to his left past the mausoleum as the ghoul comes out and follows him. He never turns around but two shots later if you look at the head stones, he comes up to the same place again.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": The saucer flies left to right past a church at the beginning of the movie. Later they just reverse the film as the saucer flies right to left away from the same church.

Mistake Continuity: As the saucer flies over the graveyard, Tor Johnson's shadow can be seen on the studio wall behind him.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: The woman at the graveyard lets out a scream as she sees the dead bodies. It's obvious that the bodies are dressed up store mannequins.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: As Tor Johnson goes into the graveyard with his flashlight we see the same headstones we saw a few moments earlier when the woman screamed, only now they've been rearranged.

Mistake Continuity: The grave diggers are covering Bela Lugosi's wife's grave in broad daylight. In the next shot when Vampira comes walking out it's in the middle of the night.

Mistake Continuity: Tor Johnson sits in the front seat of the squad car at the police station. In the next shot of them arriving at the cemetery he's sitting in the backseat.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: As a prop they use a 50' style radio microphone strapped to the co-pilot's chest.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: At the funeral scene in the beginning of the movie, the wooden crosses added in the cemetery are obvious props.

Mistake Continuity: When the flying saucers are flying over Hollywood, it's nighttime in some scenes and daylight in others.

Mistake Factual error: When the military are going to attack the flying saucers in Washington D.C., there's some shots where you can see trucks and airplanes in a deserted region. Washington is hundreds of kilometers away from the desert.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the officers in Washington are listening to the alien message, there's a shot where you can see the shadow of the crew on the desk, just before the message has finished.

Mistake Continuity: When the stewardess enters the cockpit with her clipboard, she disappears during a closeup on the pilot. It has nothing to do with a different camera angle.

Mistake Revealing: When Bela Lugosi walks off screen, it's obviously a freeze frame. The swaying tree stops moving and even though he was hit by a car, his shadow is still visible.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the movie the narrator states that the funeral for the old lady is taking place at dusk. The next scene, in the airplane, is supposed to be taking place at the same time yet when the co-pilot calls the control tower he says that it is fifteen minutes to four and he doubts that the controller would be awake at this time of the morning.

Mistake Continuity: The "Old man-ghoul" changes appearances drastically throughout the entire movie. In some scenes, it is Bela Lugosi in vampire cape, in others it is the famous "double" who is a head taller than Lugosi, a lot thinner and has a different hairstyle. He covers his face with his cape, but this does not help a lot...

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Whenever we see Vampira, they use the same footage, as she's always in the same place next to or near the wooden mausoleum.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Inside the alien spacecraft, a compassionate Tanna says to Eros, "Do we have to kill them?" The shadow of the boom mike can be seen moving on the left of the screen above their heads.

Mistake Continuity: As she is chased by the ghoul in the cemetery, Paula knocks over one of the wooden tombstones and you can see the stand underneath that holds it up. The next time we see it two shots later it's been set straight again.

Mistake Continuity: As Tor Johnson rises from the dead there's dirt all over his body but none on his face or head.

Mistake Continuity: As he interviews Col. Edwards, the phone wires hanging off the side of General Roberts' desk move between shots without anyone touching a phone.

Mistake Continuity: As Paula is chased by the ghoul in the cemetery it's obvious that there is no dirt or grass under her feet, only crumpled up pieces of carpet.

Mistake Continuity: At the grave yard it's pitch black out but you can see the reflection of a studio light in the police car windshield.

Mistake Continuity: The Ghoul Man is turned to bones by a ray from the alien spaceship and Col. Edwards throws the cape off of the body revealing the horrible sight. A couple of shots later they wake up Patrolman Kelton who is now lying on the cape.

Mistake Continuity: Bela Lugosi's wife was buried under ground and we see the gravediggers cover the casket. In the next shot we see her above ground near the mausoleum.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Someone's hand from behind touches the shower curtain in the cockpit of the plane as the pilot says, "You better radio in for landing instructions, Danny".

Mistake Continuity: In scenes at the general's office, a large wall map of the U.S. is in the background. In some of the closeups you can see that it's a Santa Fe railroad map - and in others the words "Santa Fe" on the logo are taped over.

Mistake Other: During the first funeral, the priest only reads the bible for himself and says nothing to the other people.

Mistake Continuity: When Paula escapes from her house, she doesn't have shoes but she jas a pair when the man finds her unconscious besides the road.

Mistake Revealing: When the flying saucers are passing over Hollywood and Washington D.C., there's some shots where you can see their shadows on the fake sky.

Mistake Revealing: When the army is firing at the flying saucers, it's obvious that the sky behind the colonel is made of fabric.

Mistake Revealing: Jeff's wife is named Paula and is played Mona McKinnon, but when he is talking to her about having to hush up his UFO sighting, he calls her Mona.

Mistake Revealing: It's amazing how little equipment is in the plane: a shower curtain, a thermometer, and a cardboard steering wheel.

Mistake Revealing: When the people in the military are firing the rockets at the UFOs, you can see the rockets launching from platform are coming from the outside of the platform.

Mistake Revealing: Vampira flinches when Inspector Clay fires at her even though she's a zombie.

Mistake Continuity: When we first see Tor Johnson and the other policemen coming out of the police station it's pitch black out. In the next shot of them driving to the cemetery it's broad daylight.

Mistake Continuity: As Eros talks about the solaminite, the blinking light on the table in the alien spacecraft stops blinking between shots without anyone going near it.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Inside the alien spacecraft a battery operated blinking traffic caution signal is used as a prop from another world.

Mistake Revealing: As Tor Johnson holds Paula, the police officer comes up from behind and clobbers him on the head with a wooden stick. He falls to the ground and the entire set including all the trees, shake like they were just in a magnitude 7 earthquake.

Mistake Continuity: As they look into Tor Johnson's empty tomb, one of the police officers says it looks like (the dirt) has fallen into the grave. In the next shot as he goes into the hole there is no dirt in it.

Mistake Continuity: As Tor Johnson rises from the dead his head stone gets larger between shots.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": As Paula is chased by the ghoul into the cemetery the shots continuously change between night and day throughout the entire scene.

Mistake Factual error: The gunpowder made in the 1950's didn't produce the clouds of smoke we see whenever the police fire their weapons, but those of the 1870's did. Ed must have nicked some ammo from the Lone Ranger's property master, eh?

Mistake Continuity: The pilot says to his wife that the flying saucer was cigar-shaped. The actual shape was more like two dishes attached together.

Mistake Revealing: The American pilots fly the plane with no hands.

Mistake Revealing: Why are all of the space ships the same exact size as the planet?

Mistake Revealing: During Criswell's opening and closing narrations it is painfully obvious that he is reading from a cue card.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": After Tor Johnson attacks Paula and the police officer, a second officer shows up at the cemetery with half of the license plate on the patrol car taped over so it can't be read.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": In the alien spaceship, Eros speaks of the "Solarminite", Jeff Trent calls it "Solinite" and Col. Edwards calls it "Solar-inite".

Mistake Continuity: The stewardess says to the pilot, "I'll be right back," as she touches him with her right hand. In the next shot she's nowhere near him.

Mistake Revealing: In the cemetery, you can see the actors' shadows on the fake sky.

Mistake Revealing: When the flying saucers passes over the cemetery, everybody falls on the ground but the fog stays still.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: While the spaceship is flying, the string is very visible. Also, you can see on the bottom of the spaceship/plate that there is a flowery design.

Mistake Audio problem: Inside the alien spacecraft Jeff Trent shoots at the alien device and they overdub the sound of a bullet ricocheting off of a rock like in an old 50's western.
