Mistake Revealing: When the flying saucers leave the planet, you can see their shadows on the fake planet's surface.

Mistake Deliberate "mistake": Why does the wife of the old man have vampire clothes and long nails?

Mistake Factual error: When the military are going to attack the flying saucers in Washington D.C., there's some shots where you can see trucks and airplanes in a deserted region. Washington is hundreds of kilometers away from the desert.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: When the officers in Washington are listening to the alien message, there's a shot where you can see the shadow of the crew on the desk, just before the message has finished.

Mistake Continuity: When the stewardess enters the cockpit with her clipboard, she disappears during a closeup on the pilot. It has nothing to do with a different camera angle.

Mistake Revealing: When Bela Lugosi walks off screen, it's obviously a freeze frame. The swaying tree stops moving and even though he was hit by a car, his shadow is still visible.

Mistake Continuity: During Criswell's opening narration, the time of the story changes from taking place in the future ("Future events such as these will affect you in the future.") to taking place in the past ("what happened on that fateful day...").

Mistake Revealing: Jeff's wife is named Paula and is played Mona McKinnon, but when he is talking to her about having to hush up his UFO sighting, he calls her Mona.

Mistake Continuity: At the beginning of the movie the narrator states that the funeral for the old lady is taking place at dusk. The next scene, in the airplane, is supposed to be taking place at the same time yet when the co-pilot calls the control tower he says that it is fifteen minutes to four and he doubts that the controller would be awake at this time of the morning.

Mistake Continuity: The "Old man-ghoul" changes appearances drastically throughout the entire movie. In some scenes, it is Bela Lugosi in vampire cape, in others it is the famous "double" who is a head taller than Lugosi, a lot thinner and has a different hairstyle. He covers his face with his cape, but this does not help a lot...

Mistake Revealing: It's amazing how little equipment is in the plane: a shower curtain, a thermometer, and a cardboard steering wheel.

Mistake Revealing: When the people in the military are firing the rockets at the UFOs, you can see the rockets launching from platform are coming from the outside of the platform.

Mistake Revealing: Vampira flinches when Inspector Clay fires at her even though she's a zombie.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: Inside the alien spacecraft, a compassionate Tanna says to Eros, "Do we have to kill them?" The shadow of the boom mike can be seen moving on the left of the screen above their heads.

Mistake Continuity: As she is chased by the ghoul in the cemetery, Paula knocks over one of the wooden tombstones and you can see the stand underneath that holds it up. The next time we see it two shots later it's been set straight again.

Mistake Continuity: As Tor Johnson rises from the dead there's dirt all over his body but none on his face or head.

Mistake Continuity: As he interviews Col. Edwards, the phone wires hanging off the side of General Roberts' desk move between shots without anyone touching a phone.

Mistake Continuity: As they look into Tor Johnson's empty tomb, one of the police officers says it looks like (the dirt) has fallen into the grave. In the next shot as he goes into the hole there is no dirt in it.

Mistake Continuity: As Tor Johnson rises from the dead his head stone gets larger between shots.

Mistake Continuity: As Paula is chased by the ghoul in the cemetery it's obvious that there is no dirt or grass under her feet, only crumpled up pieces of carpet.
