At the climax of the film, the Mustang leaps over the top of wrecked cars. When the car lands, you can tell it has sustained major damage (bent A-frame), but thanks to between-takes repairs, in the very next shot the car is fine and speeds away. See more...

It might be fun to know that H.B. Halicki, the man who plays Maindrian Pace, did all the driving himself. No stunt double was ever used for Halicki in the car scenes. That's kind of impressive to think of when you look at the last jump with Eleanor. Also a good point to note - H.B. Halicki could actually break into a car in less than 60 seconds.
In the big chase scene, when Maindrian attempts to leave the interstate, he clips the front of another car, spins out, and knocks down a light pole. This crash was NOT planned, and was an error on the part of one of the drivers. However, because it looked so impressive it was left in the movie.
