Continuity: At the end of the film before Nicolas Cage jumps in the ocean, the sky is overcast. Once he is in the ocean, the sky is clear blue.

Continuity: In the scene when Meg Ryan gets into bed she has on a broad strapped tank top. A few minutes later she wakes up in a spaghetti strapped top.

Continuity: In the scene by the mirror, the visual effects artist removed cage from the mirror. Just seconds before, when you are moving from the back of Meg Ryan's head to Nic Cage's face, you can see his nose and face in the corner of the mirror.

Plot hole: When Nathaniel Messenger goes swimming in the ocean Seth goes after him. When they're swimming back towards land you can see Seth is barefoot while swimming. It never showed him taking off his boots and why would an angel need his boots off to swim anyway?

Continuity: In the scene in which Meg Ryan is at home with her boyfriend and they're talking in the kitchen, there's a closet door that keeps opening and closing, everytime the camera cuts to Meg Ryan! One time is opened, next time is closed.

Continuity: Near the end of the film when Meg Ryan sees the truck it is driving onto the road. But when Seth runs to see her the truck looks as though it has reversed out onto the road.
